hey hey TGC........that looks nice. I rather like the 3rd pic you have there showing the route query tool.

While I'm at it; for those of you wondering about the Mod [&/or anything else related in general]; I myself personally have taken a breather, as I need it. Don't worry though, I'm still very much keen on adding more stuff, & I'm sure others are still chipping away with their own things. So don't fret 2.gif.

TGC, those look awesome. What's the building to the left of the tall one in pic #4?
    quote>

That building is Oppie's Roundhouse for trains. It is at SimCityCentral. Unfortunately, their download system seems to be offline...

Is there a way someone can edit that median on these interchanges and make them look like a center or turning lane? Because when I look at it, it looks really fake. (1). this interchange doesn't have any traffic lights controlling the on or off-ramps. (2) There's no kind of street lights placed on them, and the avenue median on these interchanges have no center or turning lane

So can someone please tell me if this can be done or not.

zdog:  I think you should suggest that for the Avenue Turning Lane Project. Maybe those guys could mod that. But I like the idea.

What are those tall masts in the cloverleaf in pic 5? Highwaylights? What are they called and where did you get them?

hey, I have a quick question about ANT network... I was told it was just mini highways, well, I used it, and all it is is a road that you can't put houses next to... what am I missing from the textures?

really? because I have seen pictures of the ANT network in people's CJs, and they actually DO look like mini 3 lane highways...

I think you're getting the ANT mixed up with a part of the multi highways. The ANT looks just like a road. You must have seen half of a multi highway and mistook it for the ANT.

Ah, thanks Domino, any idea where I can find the multi highway that I wanted? because having ANT which is kind of useless to me is kinda annoying.

Those are highway light towers. I built them. They are available on the STEX (Simtropolis Exchange).

Go to the Exchange, and do a search with my username, and it should pop up a window with all my uploaded buildings. You will find these lights there.

Hey Chozo, i know you're tired of hearing about when the stack interchanges will be done, so i wont ask. Would it be possible for you to create a version of the T-interchange to connect to an avenue?

I agree that Austin is weird, that is why i prefer to be in Houston!

I was wondering if there is a way to make the ANT have dirt road textures by some other mod? If it isn't can it be included in the next NAM update.
    This would be great.

PS. Can't wait for the Rail Puzzle Pieces (Elevated ground rail, here we come)

Hi, as I understand it, the ANT looks like a road but it has a higher capacity. I'm not sure about the capacity numbers, but I think it's like a highway (does anyone know the capacity?). I find it useful for long transports between different areas in the suburbs where it looks better than the regular highway.

    Shasta,

It is entirely possible for me to make that interchange. Keep in mind though, as long as it takes for the stacks to be modded, the interchange you requested will have to wait in line. There are about 3 or 4 other items that are in line to be modded before that Avenue T would even get started on. It would only take me 3 days at the most to model it (if that long). The problem is that it wouldn't get worked on for quite a while. So if you think the stacks are taking a long time, then this will take longer simply because it would have to wait in line.

BUT............ why should I model this, when it is already possible in the game ??

Take a look at this pic :

    <ahttp://3.forumer.com/uploads/simtropolis/post-2-1091343787.jpg width=804 align=middle border=0>

You see that avenue that turns into a Ground T Intersection ?? Well that is what you are asking about right ???

If it isn't, then how about this. There are three connections to a Ground T. In the picture above, Connection 1 and 2 are ground highways, and connection 3 is an avenue. Now you can easily make connection 1 and 2 avenues, and then have the T intersection connecting all three. This is at a diagonal, but you can easily do the same thing on the orthagonal axis. You can plop the T down by itself, and then drag the avenues out from each end.

Just play around with that for a little while, and I think you will end up with the result that you requested.

I see no reason to waste the time on creating something that is already possible within the game.

    Hope that helps you.

    Chozo

This whould be a nice addition, I think:

    picserver.jpeg

Especially useful for busy and/or important avenues, with little space.

The idea is that it works the same as a normal avenue-road-crossing.
The mayor differcence is that the Nord-South-direction (in this particular case) can drive trough at full speed.
Because the busiest stream of cars doesn't use the crossing anymore, it is less congested, which also benefits the other directions.

Of course this idea could also be used for avenue-avenue crossings.
Interesting is that it could also be used as ramps for a 2-lane road. In game, just turn the road into an avenue, place this, and turn it back into a road. In that way it could even be used for a highway crossing with very limited space available.

(This is only a sketch, made in Photoshop, I am not really building this know. It is mainly an idea, I wanted to show. I do not mean to say that modders 'should' make it.)

I think that would be a great intersection.

How about making something like this
    /idealbb/files/New
    Photoshoped badly

It would be beter than the regular avenue to road connection.

That intersection is killer. I'd use that for sure.44.gif

This is a little bit off-topic, but I didn't want to start a new thread about this - The street lights in the game are all positioned weird. Shouldn't they be positioned such that if you were sitting at a red light, the light itself would be on the other side of the cross street? With the way they are now, if you were first in line at a red light, you would have to stare straight up to see the light change.

I'm sure many of you have noticed this, and I apologize if this is only the millionth time this has been brought up.
