Or how about i pose as clevelands GM and text message Lebron some mean texts saying we wanna "trade" him soon because he isnt welcome in Cleveland 3.gif Hopefully he'll be offended and come over to another contender (mavs) then 3.gif

BTW, did you guys hear, Dwayne Wade is shutting it down again. With the Heat so far out of contention he decided he needed to rest his injuries, in particular his knee that still has not fully recovered from the surgery last year. He didnt sound too hopeful for playing in the Olympics :/ I hope he is healthy by then so U.S.A. can win the gold behind Lebron, Melo, and Wade 4.gif

Isnt it amazing, their draft class. 2001 produces no one of worthiness and theirs gives us: Chris Bosh, Josh Howard, Dwayne Wade, Carmelo Anthony, and Lebron James. And i know i am forgetting someone good from that class. Ill probably remember who it is tomorrow 3.gif

    Fat chance...

Europeans have been successful recently because although the US team has superior talent/athletism, they play team basketball, not everyone try and do a 360 dunk basketball.

But this years US team is different, it wants to win, not to "Dunk de Mort".

Go Rockets! 20-0!!! We'll have to win one more to beat out one team (forgot the name), and then we'll have to beat the Laker's 33 consecutive wins to make history. 3.gif

    yea, thats crazy.

But let us remember the last "Rock" team to go on a crazy win streak. They were swept by Boston in the world series 3.gif

Perhaps Houston should trademark "Rockune". Then we would have "Rocktober" and "Rockune".

Ugh mavs looking like they wont make the playoffs...stupid stupid stupid... The funny thing is it wont even matter if they do, I mean could you really see them making a run to the finals when theyre so shallow compared to this competition. Lottery this year and amazing luck to get Michael Beasley!

http://www.venganza.org woah...celtics own rockets, completed the texas sweep, then have been on fire since. Two nights ago against New Orleans, Rajon Rondo outplayed Chris Paul, because he is a better point gaurd and you guys just refuse to hear it. Seriously, rondo, who they say can't shoot, goes to the left corner, drains it, next drive, goes to the right corner, drains it, meanwhile, chris paul bricks two consecutive free throws thanks to the insane noise at the garden. Place is so loud, they literally suck the life out of the other team and give it to the celtics.

Well the end of the world for me-as a mavericks fan. Not suprisingly the Mavs got eliminated by the Hornets but what is agonizing for me is to watch the break up of this team over the next few months. Avery Johnson just got fired which is the wrong idea.

He was a phenomenal coach, albiet a little inexperienced. Our trip to the 2006 Finals was no joke and winning 67 games last year wasnt either. Wrong idea to fire him.

Meanwhile we have $21 million dollars committed to a 35 year old player who is going to spend a whole bunch of time playing in the Olympics, burning up what little gas he has left before the season has even started. talk about untradable.

The only players i can see the Mavericks keeping this off-season are Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Terry, and Brandon Bass. The Dirk bashing really wears on me. This guy brings it every night despite facing double and triple teams every time he puts the ball on the floor. Everytime. He does not get the chance to dribble the ball, and often draws a lot of contact going to the basket. Despite this, he still manages to score 20 points a game, and as evidenced by the Hornets series, the 2006 Suns series, Spurs series, and so on back, he raises his game for the play offs. Even last year against the Warriors he wasnt that bad.

Jason terry is getting up there-31 or 32- but his game isnt going to change much from now until hes 38. He has a very consistent jumpshot and will knock down the open shot everytime. Watchout when he catches on fire. The mavs dont get him enough shots each game. All that crap about Jason Kidd needing to be more aggressive and take more shots...no...just no...the other jason, Jason terry needed to take more shots.

Brandon Bass is going to be a very good player. He is only 22 or 23 and already is averaging a double double as the season wore on. His aggressive play, excellent athleticism and spot on jump shot show me the trademarks of a future all star. This guy has the ability to score 20 points and get 10 rebounds a game. Undeniably, he has an excellent offensive game and a shaky defensive game. However, he still can and will improve.

Josh Howard just disapoints me. He picked the worst time to throw the towel. I really hate to just give up on him after one bad series, but he really worries me with how he has played. He has never been very durable, and he is actually pretty old, turning 28 two days ago. Dirk hasnt even turned 30 yet just to give you perspective, and hes been around in the NBA since 1998. Josh Howard can do everything pretty well and probably doesnt get enough credit for his defense, so I would hold off on trading him, except hes our only really good trade chip.

Jerry Stackhouse and Eric Dampier-good ridance! We are paying Dampier a WHOLE lot of money ($12 million a year?) to suck a lot of...junk...Sadly we have no one to replace him. No draft picks...no able bodied men like Diop...I think with his contract and unproductiveness, with so many teams near the salary cap, he is virtually untradable. I really wish we could dump him and find someone off the FA market that can play better or for less money. Stackhouse is just too old and is always injured, his career should have ended two years ago, just like the mavericks should have won the NBA Finals...but choked.

We dont have any draft picks for a long time lol. My Mavericks are getting old. They have no cap space. They rashly fired their great coach today. I am seriously bummed out the direction of my favorite sports team 15.gif

I say good riddance to Johnson.
He lost his players a few weeks ago.

the Mavs are in a desprate situation, no draft picks to speak of for the next THREE Years,
most core players under contract for 2-3 years, no player that anyone would guve us anything for, except Dirk and i dont think we could get a whole lot for him either, not that im bashing him
he the best player the Mavs have ever had. But every one will know hes the only one we can realy trade and will under value him.

honestly, as much as i love avery, he wasn't the greatest head coach...the team he took to the finals was a don nelson team that played better defense...he also made some major moves at pivotal points...like changing hotels in the middle of the finals, and changing starting lineups when the mavs played golden state in the playoffs (going away from the lineup that won 67 games), and then this year trades for jason kidd...the mavs were 17-17 with kidd...not impressive at all...and johnson said this guy was definitely the missing piece...plus allowing josh howard to do his drugs and then admit it on espn radio? that's horrible...not to mention that kidd cannot be stopped by anyone when he plays for team usa, but johnson can't get him to bring the same fire playing for the team that originally gave him his break? don't get me wrong, avery is a very classy guy, but he isn't the coach to lead dallas to the championship...

Well its done now, so a new question must be asked; who will inherit Avery's throne? I do not like the head coach market out there right now. However, if perhaps a certain Suns coach is fired I would love to see the Mavericks hire him. I think in general, much of the Mavericks problems stemmed from-ironically- their offense. If any of you watched the New Orleans series, you might have noticed everytime the 2 quarter rolled around , the mavs would abandon the pick and roll, drive and pass out to a stationary offense with absolutely no ball movement and lots of missed, contested jumpers that not even Kobe can consistently hit.

Our next coach need to be able to integrate Jason Kidd into our system, and get Dirk the easy shots he used to get when Steve Nash was still around.

Hopefully they dont blow it up compleatly.

going back to 15-20 wins seasons would be terrible.

    The Suns coach?

No thank you. How many times ( like the Mavs) have they been close but fail in the late rounds?

He couldnt win with Shaq ( the 1st coach to not win one with Shaq )

there's someone out there...maybe we could bring don nelson back...when he came out of retirement to coach for golden state, i was pretty upset...i would love to see cuban go after coach k or even bobby knight...both coaches could get what no one else seems to be able to out of this team...and i know kidd would play to his potential best for both of them...cuz somehow coach k can get kidd moving, and kidd wouldn't want to cross coach knight...

It was anouunced today the new coach would not be a college coach, nor any one currently

    on the Mavs staff.

Lets talk about green, shall we?

    First off, Mike Bibby.

He calls the C fans bandwagon jumpers. Who are the bandwagon jumpers? The fans that have been there all year, earning a reputation as one of the toughest places to play? Or the fans who decide in April,"hey the hawks are playing in the playoffs, lets become fans and start going to the games all of the sudden!". Even worse, they need the announcer to tell them when to chant defense or "lets go hawks". Also. RONDO'S BETTER! (dun dun dunanana). 3.gif The chant i told my friends who attended last nights game to chant was "EDDIE HOUSE (dun dun dunana) BANGS YOUR SISTER (dun dun dunana) because eddie house, celts pg, is married to Bibby's sister.

Second, the 2 games in atlanta.

The first game there was a fluke. only win the hawks deserved.

Second one? FRIKING riduculous. Rondo, peirce, and friends were slammed to the ground with no calls. What would be a charge anywhere else was a blocking foul to Atlanta. And then, when some cocky import bench warmer gets the nerve to pull garnett to the ground while boxing him out, Garnett gets a T for trying to push him away. Perhaps the refs missed the guy headbutting garnett, which is an automatic T?

Now that we have stomped the life out of the hawks in game 5, and even if we lose game 6, we go to the garden for 7, im not worried. besides....RONDO'S BETTER (dun dun dunana) 3.gif

Lastly, peirce. Paul Peirce is one of the few good guys in the NBA. He has a very successful foundation for inner-city children, a clean record, and is a great role model for kids everywhere. Both parents and children love him. So what does the No Balls Association do? They decide to fine him for "menacing gang related gestures". Congradulations. The league that tries to make its players seem like saints just permenantly destroyed one of its best behaved player's reputation. Perhaps, those racist bastards should have waited to hear Peirce's story? Because it turns out, it was a symbol he and his teammates make each game that means "blood sweat and tears".

Worst part? It was a hawks assistant who brought the gesture into the leagues awareness. But before doing so, he cut the part of Al Horford taunting peirce out of the tape.

as I said, it was entirely un gang related. The "Sodomahy" chant i started at my school dance was more menacing than that.

First is the hardest. A 34 point win should shut the critics up. Plus KG slamming ZaZa to the ground was epic 3.gif

The NBA execs are happy now

    Laker's VS Celtic's

rather then thier horror Pistons vs Spurs.

Should be a decent series although with all these blowout wins at home im not optimistic

    Go Lakers !!

I want the Celtics to win because KG deserves it after what he went through with Kevin "All Reserves On My Roster" McHale here in Minnesota. McHale has done little good as GM here.
