since the NBA keeps making its way into the NFL thread, I decided it was time for the nba to have its own thread. What are your thoughts on the Kidd/ shaq/ gasol trades?

And 6 turnovers...

Mavericks have ruined their franchise for the next 5 years with this trade...It is a little early but already Kidd looks old and slow while Chris Paul was manhandling him (9 steals). Meanwhile the Nets win...The only thing positive about this trade to me is that Antoine Wright has a chance to be pretty good solid NBA player for the mavs.

Thanks for making an NBA thread, you will see me frequent here plenty.

well, our bench and other starters besides the big three have been phenomonal.

When one of the big three has a down game or is out, someone else always steps up wether its rondo (imo, key to there success), big baby, tony allen, or someone else.

So shaq did good last night, but the suns lost.

As long as my Timberwolves finish above Miami, Seattle, Memphis, and New York, I will consider this season a success.

Whoa dude totally big trade by the cavs today! DUmb trade by the spurs to pick up thomas, but who cares.

\I fail to see how Ben Wallace is going to fit in with Big Z on offense in Cleveland. Frankly none of the pieces matchup very well, but all in all the Cavs fleeced the Sonics and Bulls for some pretty good players and little in return. I dont think these trades put Cavs past the Celtics or the genius Pistons who seem like the only contender this season to not pull a trade (smart)

A few years from now all the teams that pushed the panic button and made unwise trades are going to be suffering and will suck for a while.

Spurs are my favourite team, hopefully they can pull of BACK TO BACK however...

Boston, Lakers and New Orleans are looking very impressive atm.

Boston V Spurs GF would be absolutely awesome.

courtside seats have to be at least 600.

well, usually the tickets go up and down depending on how much interest there is. I assume after last years playoff miracle, GS is pretty popular 3.gif

where do they play? Calafornia isn't that specific. Oakland or San Fran?

Suns-Celts was a good game. Because of the late start I got to see most of it at work. Shaq scored 4 points, but got 14 rebounds. That's some presence there, eh? KG and Staudemire were shoving all night, and I really didn't know who was going to win until the Suns pulled away at the end. I still love KG and I think the Celts will easily win the east, but I'll say what many have said all season: Wait until they play some western teams. Wait until they take a road trip through Texas...

Basketball is the least favorite of my sports though. Maybe it's because I've had the Twolves here my whole life rather than an awesome team. Maybe it's because it's the only sport that I'm horrible at...ok, that's just why I'm not a big basketball fan, but I'm not an NBA fan for a slew of reasons. Besides their salaries being so much higher than other sports, their a bunch of spoiled whiny rich athletes that barely play on the court. There are a handful of players in the NBA that hustle every play, fight for every rebound, and run down the court after the ball. They're not playing for anything other than their salary.

College basketball is the purest form of the game availible right now. Some may be playing to get into the NBA, but nearly all of them won't. They're playing for pride, for their school, for a championship - because they only have a few years of this before the real world will hit them hard in the face. That being said, I can't wait for Memphis vs. Tennessee tonight...#1 vs. #2...fierce rivals...the only undefeated team vs. the team that ALWAYS beats them...

Wow...tickets are going for as much as $10,000. I can't wait.

You do know that up until this 3 game skid, the celtics were 16-0 against the west?

wait till the play the west doesn't work anymore. The west may have 10 great teams, but the East has 2 Amazing ones 3.gif (and 14 or so *****ty ones).

EDIT:regarding college basketball...to put a spin on Lifehouse, "BC is hanging by a moment with FSU" (get it, "hanging by a moment here with you" 3.gif)

They need to catch fire and make a run in the ACC tourney if they have any hope of making march madness. They will be great next year, but right now they are a mess of talented but inexperienced players. however, next year all of our key players return, unless rice decides to leave early, then id kill myself.
