I was just trying to connect two tiles seperated by water without making a complete island in the middle and came up with this:

Joined the two region shots together:

Might look a little better if I took a tile off each side of the little island so it's the same width as the bridge.

Nicely done! There are many real-world examples of little "helper islands" being constructed when spanning long water distances.

Very nice bridges around here!

I have not tested the diagonal bridge yet, someone knows if it allows to make diagonal dry brigdes, with for instance the rain tool?

All of these are part of the NAM 31.1 release.

This is Anchor Point, one of my all time favorite cities. I worked on this city for a long time and I love the way it looks with the bridges connecting the sides of the city. The top bridge is elevated rail to a subway and the bottom bridge is a rail bridge.

My first use of the diagonal bridge mod. I built a small neighbourhood around it. Go me!

Wow, that's really astounding. Good work, as always.

May I ask you about the seawall set between your ferry terminal and your bridge? I already know about the Stanley Seawalls, but I'd like to know where to find that seawalls with smooth curves and trees on it.

That looks great man. Makes me want to give it another go myself. I've only tried it once but I used the MHW for the diag bridge and that was about the time that I stopped using the MHW altogether and just abandoned that region. It's weird, doesn't seem to me that people use that great feature much.

That measurement is actually incorrect; it's actually 15.5 meters because that's the true height of those pieces. (And yes, I also know of the trick myself; it's a zero-water trick.)

How do you do that?

How do you do that? It's with a cheat. First you decide where you want the viaduct to start and level the terrain. Then you use the "SetSeaLevel [number 0-200]" cheat. This basically changes the level of the water in your city, in this case the water level should be lower. Attention! Bridges and tunnels and some roads will be demolished if you use this cheat! When the water is gone, you level the terrain to the other side of the river, so that the terrain between beginning and ending of your 'bridge' is flat. Then you lower the terrain with a hole digger piece of 15m, like you would do when you build an ordinary rail viaduct. Build the viaduct using on-slope pieces, and voilà. Save your city. When you reopen it, the water is back normal and you can rebuild the stuff demolished by the cheat.

Got an error trying to open that link.

Note the title is "Show us your Bridges", not someone else's.  Intention is for bridges in-game.

how do you set the water level?

Control-x opens the cheat box. There you can type SetSeaLevel followed by a space and a number from 0-200. For example: SetSeaLevel 50. Press enter and voilà. Do make a back up of your city before you do any of this, you never know what might go wrong.

Could that also be accomplished while the diagonal bridge creation mod is "active"?
