Oh, I do like hockey. Tough to hear about that overtime loss. Those back-to-back games'll get ya.

Nice Storalvoy shots as well. It's good to see that I'm not the only one who likes rowhouse neighbourhoods.

Geronimo: hehe, yeah im a big stickler for little useless details 3.gif and keep in mind only a small portion of the population is Northern European. Its mostly a North American nation but there is the occasional Norweigen or Icelandic hockey player hanging around! Thanks for being a fan so far! i hope you stick around for more.

Brad: someones a hockey fan now? XD thanks!

bbfan02: Thanks alot! Maps are important to get a good feel on where the nation is and how everything is layed out.

    Jacky: thank you!

    super_monkey: glad you like it!

edmonton_stinks: hehe thanks man! luckily they won their last game so its all cool 9.gif

Simtastico: yeah, its a very diverse nation. we dont want to leave the 3rd large language out now do we 2.gif thanks for dropping by!

    Brief History

As you learned in the introduction, Storalvoy is Terra Nonia's largest city and capital of the country. It was founded in 1770 by James Cook on one of his Trans Atlantic Journeys. It was discovered by accident when a storm sent Cook and his crew off course and further north than anticipated. They found one lush and hilly area along the coast with a large shallow Inlet flowing in through a valley. They would name this Fjord Storl Voi. In the coming years this port would be used as a stopover station for journeys for many explorers from England, France, Italy and Northern Europe and was soon settled into what is now a booming fishing and oil center. Over time the name Fjord Storl Voi evolved into Storalvoy Sound.

Nice downtown. It looks very realistic with the scrapers as well as the old brick buildings.

You've got a lot of diagonal streets in the suburbs. I'd like to see how you managed to get all those buildings in place.

Oh, such a nice little downtown! It looks really good. Great subs too. Nice use of custom content there. I like your use of seawalls, though it looks like its a too big step from the ships deck up to the dock, and there should maybe have been some cranes around, right? Just need something to pick on... 3.gif JK, keep it up, I really appreciate your work here mate! Looking forward to see more..

That is, by far, the most unusual water mod I've ever seen. It looks clear... like that's just standard Maxis terrain underneath the surface. I daresay it works though. It has lots of character. 4.gif

I'm very impressed with your work on the city of Storalvoy. I like the spots where you used to 1x1 plazas, especially next to the hospital. A little more variety in them couldn't hurt, though. At least use some fountains! 3.gif I also like the fact that you're giving a good description of what's in each picture.

    nice!

Seawalls is one thing I can't seem to master. You've mastered it masterfully! ;-)

I'm looking forward to following this one (I just got back into the game after 6 months away from it.)

    aleko: thanks!

frogface: i was looking to be more realistic with this CJ than my others. start off with a nice small downtown and work my way up instead of just plopping a huge downtown and not making up for it in residential. thanks for the comment!

GreekMan: haha! glad you like it so much. i dont really know where its going actually, you tell me 2.gif

toki.s: i knew you'd comment 3.gif and yeah they do make a BIT of a difference. they are soon going to fall victim to urban development though 11.gif thanks for stopping by!

AceofSpades: aww, dont cry 3.gif heh, glad you like it!

patriots: hehe, well to tell ya the truth i only named it that because i had originally intended to use the TD Banknorth Garden (you may know the guy who made it 3.gif) in my city but than decided it was too big. i just kept the name though because i had all my teams entered with it. and yeah, im glad you dont think i suck. i was really hoping to break out of my newbish status with this CJ. Anything compared to Christian is a good thing so ill try to keep going the way I am!

edmonton_stinks: i wouldnt say there are any skyscrapers there yet....mostly mid rise but there should soon be some 2.gif and the diagonal streets always make an area look nice and realistic. Just simple zoning, gotta have patience though, it can be tricky!

NMUSpidey: Defenders? who are they and why do they pose any threat to the mighty Seahawks? 3.gif heh, joke. glad you're likin it!

Tom: thanks! good to know im improving at something 3.gif

    vivydu: glad you like it!

boon1234: Sprawling cities are always nice. adds a sense of homeish..ness 3.gif i dont quite know how to explain it. As for the ingame region shot...the region isnt fully rendered yet so i dont know when i can post one. heck the city isnt even done yet. hopefully it wont be long though.

Geronimo: well, if it isnt one of my faithful regulars! about the seawalls. i was trying to find a crane that wouldnt look udderly stupid in the downtown core and the search came up blank, these are only the harbourlands though so there wouldnt be any big cranes. just a place to dock and unload small cargo. a bigger port is under construction but shhhh, dont tell anyone 3.gif and the boats, they are so far out for the simple reason that if they were in any closer half of them would be aground and on my city streets xD

    Jacky: thank you!

zelgadis: heh, nothing special there. just pegs Brigatine water mod in very shallow water. I think it looks nice for some reason though....the browinish colour of the harbour floor goes good with the green on the shore and stuff 3.gif

gabry85: glad you like it! i think its important to have grass and trees so it doesnt get too swept up in a big city feel to much. cant beat a nice tree lined road 10.gif

bakercity: you're welcome here any time! customs are a bit of a hassle though 3.gif and the lighthouse is Automated...no SOB is getting paid good money to live o
