I remember being excited having a 1999 Lego Rock Raider game (that is only compatible with Window 95 and 98), and seeing an advertisment for Window 2000.

Good lord, some of you... Well, I shall resist the all-too-easy diaper joke at this time. 3.gif

Anyway... I remember when we got our first disk drive for our computer. Before that, we had to load our games from tape drives, which, if I remember correctly, took a good half hour.

    "Wow!!! So fast!!!" we thought.

I remember when I was amazed how fancy Window XP was compared to Window 2000 after my dad installed Window XP on the old desktop computer.

I remember those huge box monitors with the 14" screens.

I remember the original desktop CPU's that set under the monitor that were pure hell to break in to.

I remember having a 2 gigabyte hard drive.

I remember when Pac Man, Space Invaders, Hunter Hunted, and Pole Position were considered "state of the art" programs.

I also remember when computers weren't needed to watch videos, listen to music, and basically live normally.

    Hi, all.

Just remember, you asked for it (by creating this thread).

I remember working on a Univac 1206 computer mainframe.  To boot the computer, you had to manually set the P and S register switches then run a bootstrap tape through.

I remember my first work computer -- it ran the CPM OS, not DOS.

I remember my first personal computer, a Commodore 64.

I remember my first game machine, an Atari 2600.

I remember my first "powerful" work computer -- an IBM XT -- the one with two floppy drives.

    etc., etc...

    Regards,

    Gary

I remember when I saw a Mac computer being advertised in a 1992 magazine, and it said it had 4 MB of RAM (I think).

I remember the AT form factor

i.e. the "It is now safe to turn off your computer" messages for those who may not remember, you had to shut down the OS, and then shut off the PSU, as the power button was hardwired to it.

I seen computers in my school that is based on AT form factor.

I remember when computers aren't as fancy as some of today's computers (such as Dell XPS gaming computers).

When it was my first time seeing a BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death). The BSOD occured on my laptop several months ago when my old laptop's hard drive failure was caused by me since I was constanty overheating and overloading my laptop from playing SC4 deluxe.

I lost ALL of my files, including SC4 files after the hard drive failure. Now I know why I should backup files and update the backup files every two weeks.
