My plugin folder has 827 MB, without DatPacker and without deleting things I never use. But how can you have more than 2 GB of plugins? 9.gif

Mine's at least 2.5 GB; I have to rund the DAT Packer again. 3.gif  BTW, I noticed that if you don't delete old zip files and installers, your plugins folder can be double or even TRIPLE what it should be...

That does it, I had 171 computer infections and most of them came from downloading BAT buildings. The infections was tracking cookies, spywares, keylogger, and trogans. McAfee virus scan never detected any of those infections and the Spyware doctor program detected and delete all of them. No wonder why Simcity 4 deluxe kept on crashing and the computer was so sluggish. I am never going to download anything again.

I've been downloading from here for more than two years and have never gotten a spyware or a virus from anything dl'd here.....and we're talking about about over 3gb's worth......Seems strange you'd have that issue.

Oh, and I have 2.03gb in my plugins with no dat packer....

Surprisingly, my plugins only has 800 MB worth of junk. I keep it organized and trim out what I don't need.

about 1.06 Gigs, I was just trying to untangle the mess it has become. 1117 items makes for quite the gordian knot.

This is not something that happens here ,so i would agree you probably aquired

this stuff from other sites, also sometimes your virus software detects stuff incorrectly

like the tracking cookie.i have at least one that gets picked up by my norton antivirus

    & theres nothing wrong.

Update:The tracking cookies are sometimes from ads i have noticed, theres really

not much that can be done about that if it gets out of hand & you know which site the

    ad is on report it.

Also always becareful what you download & what sites you visit you do not need to

stop downloading just becarful & if you suspect a file here to be infected or anywhere

else besure to report it to the author &/or a staff member.

Mine is around 550 Megabytes and is quite a mess, probably why some of the extras don't work right.

For a challenge I decided to see if I could plop everything in my landmarks menu on one medium city tile. This doesn't include lots that need water, a few huge Coruscant buildings, and one BAT that takes up 1/4 of the map. It's dense enough where I can't plop a 4x4 building anywhere on the map. All that and I only got about halfway through it - not even to the part where the Maxis landmarks end. And it looks like a crappy CJ picture...

Well, I just started playing again about two weeks ago and I'm already up to about 175Mb thanks to ST 4.gif

@Hahayoudied and everyone else: I'll edit this post with a link when I get the article written that I intend to write in regards to viruses, keyloggers, trojans, etc. Hopefully the mods won't be upset when I post a link to one of my own sites; no sense in keeping this information localized when the whole world can use it.

    Edit:  As promised, the article.

Elemented9: Have you tried using the mouse scroll wheel in the parks menu? I think it's a bit faster.

I have 1.6 GB in My Documents, plus 300 mb in Program Files. Here's a thumbnail of how that is broken down into my many subfolders. The Startup Manager really helps in forcing you to keep an organization structure for your downloads...

I just redid my plugins and swore I would not go over 2 gigs.  So I got  2.26 gigs.  No datpacker as it doesn't work for my rig, guess it's the Vista 64 bit OS.  It takes me 33 seconds to get to the region view and another 1:12 to get into a very heavy forested region.  I have 4 gigs of ram running 1133mhz and a cpu running at 3.4ghz.  But even with a GTX280 video card the rig is very sluggish in a big city tile with it a lot of stuff in it.  I should mention that I use a 1650 x 1080 res. with every thing turned up.  Oh, I bypass the intro movie.

I told you that to tell you this, SC4 is still the single most hardest game on my rig to run.  I got a lot of games and this is a monster of a hardware hog.

Mine is currently at 577.7MB, but I've been searching the exchange lately, so that number should go up son.
