What a MASSIVE city!! How did you get all that demand??

Great work, just one tip: don't post so many pics in one page to avoid too much waiting. Just wait for the replies to come and post later.

    Replies:

bbfan02: Thanks a lot!  More road construction is to come!  Some highways may become wider than 10 lanes in the future............?

hamish: Thanks!  The globes were there for eyecandy.  I still need to add some eyecandy to the new interchange which will be shown in the next update.

jacqulina: Good to know!  I thank you for your support!  Glad you like the update!

Voulpiotis: Thanks!  To get the demand, I used the radical mod in the mods and downloads section (I only used it to increase commercial office demand because it is too unrealistic without it)

-So your saying that I should post smaller updates more frequently rather than posting a few big ones?  That may sound like a good idea as it would leave less time for people to wait for the next update in so much anticipation.  I will give it some thought.

Smarty218: Glad to see you over here.  Thanks for the comment!

suplado!: Thank you very much! More are to come!

Anyways, thank you everyone for all your comments!  Little by little, you are making the Greater Terran Region a better place.  No update today, but it will come sometime soon.  See you soon!

    Best,

    -Haljackey

    Update (Continued)

Just a small update today.  I am just showcasing the interchange from the last update, now 99% completed.

    Picture Information:

    NOTICE:  Please Read!

Before I post some pictures of my cities, please know that I strive for the best quality of my images possible.  Every picture from here on-in is not photoshopped in any way, and is taken directly from the game to show you exactly what I see in the game.  The only editing done is converting the .PNG file to .JPEG.

***IMPORTANT***    Also, please know that my pictures are COMPRESSED, and are NOT RESIZED! When you resize a picture, a ton of the image's quality is lost, and is shrunk to comply with ST's picture size limits.  Compressing the image retains the quality, but looks terrible when squeezed to comply with site limits.

But, I have found a loophole in this problem.  Each compressed picture displayed will be linked to the actual uncompressed, true image.  All you have to do to view the image in its FULL RESOLUTION (1440x900) is to simply click on the compressed image displayed in this city journal (800x500).  The reason that the images are not 800x600 is because I present my pictures in widescreen (16:10 aspect ratio), making the image much more appealing for the human eye's stereoscopic vision.

If you have any questions or comments about how I display my images, feel free to post a reply.

This city is huge! It's nothing but highrises as far as the eye can see!

Your interchanges are a work of art. The new RHW mod is awesome!

    Schulmanator: Hey, thanks a lot!

Smarty218: It is.  Even bigger ones are coming (RHW-RHW interchanges and RHW-Highway too!)

jacqulina:  Hmm...  If I was good at photoshop, then I may do that to some images, but not to all.  Thanks for the comments!

    connorc24:  Thank you so much!

edmonton_stinks: WOW!  Thanks for all the comments!  I'm glad you like my CJ!

jrone3:  A work of art?  A master?  I do my best.  With the new MIS for the RHW network, my interchanges are going to become even better!

outriderdriver:  Thanks for the comments!  You may have seen a similar setup in the interchange thread or the Multi-RHW guide as I also post those there.  Does that help?  10 Lanes are there, and will offically open to traffic soon!

@ ALL:  Thank you so much for all your comments!  They are always welcome, and I really enjoy reading and replying to them!

    Update time!

This update will be a little different from the others.  It shows the status of the city since Update 1.0

    News Flash!

Downtown's population has reached 2.75 Million Sims!  and nearly 2 million jobs!  Will 3 million ever be able to live here?

Here are some updated stats of the city that my first post left off from:

    City:The imageimg297/1356/citydowntownzc1.jpg

    Transport:

    The image

    Residential population: 2,761,501

    Commercial: 1,958,656

    Industrial: 5,219

Traffic Congestion chart.  Congestion has always been a problem in the city, but recent improvements to road and mass transit have reduced congestion a bit.  In the background is the Mirage Casino and a newer "Burb"

Well, I haven't commented yet on this CJ. Had a fair bit of catching up to do.

Those trains are a mess. Must be heavy usage going on.

Is this city alone or are there any boroughs/suburbs? It's really densely packed.

Don't you ever experience with the radical mod when the demand eventually goes down to maybe 4,000 for CO$$$ and no large capacity buildings will show up anymore, because that happens a lot for me and I can't develop my cities anymore than they are developed.

Are you still able to develop the higher capacity buildings like Pedriana Pharmaceuticals or Hurt Enterprise Headquarters, later on in your city development, if so my super demand is screwed up because I can't in my cities, and it's very annoying.

OMG this is insane work!! Haljackey, can you please share with me where you found that Mirage building?? The exclusivity in roadways, buildings, and objects are just inspirational.. these screens could have passed for a new expansion pack for the game!

edmonton_stinks: Thanks for the comment.  To answer...

    1.  Yes, overcrowded trains are a problem in the city.  Like all large cities, congestion is a major issue.

    2.  Yes, there are neighbouring cities.  If you look at my first post in this CJ, you can learn more about these cities.  Once I am done with this city, updates will be switched to others.  The largest neighbor is to the south, a city called Crossings, which is home to another 2.5 million people and a large airport.

Smarty218: Thanks! Many people use the bullet train network in the city (look at the line graph for monorail in the traffic graph)

bbfan02: Thank you!  I'm hoping to get 3 million sims in there by the time the city is fully developed.

GlobalHaze:  Well, I only use it to increase commercial demand.  Combining it with others may lower demand, I'm not sure.  I think I am still able to develop the highest-density skyscrapers because the BASE demand in the city is so large to begin with.  Add the extra "boost" from the radical mod, and you get a high-rise jungle.  My taxes for commercial are also VERY low (like 0.1%) so that will boost demand further.

-Those are my suggestions, try them out and see what happens in your city!

hamish: It is a lot, but I am aiming for 250,000 more by the time the city is 100% developed.  Glad you liked the update!

dogma555: Thanks so much for the comments.  You can find the Mirage building over at SC4D.  (You have to register there in order to download) Here are the links:

    Dependency file:

    https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1170

There may be other dependencies too, check the file for a list.  Have fun!

vivydu29: Thanks a lot for the comment!  I appreciate it! 4.gif

allez l'om: LOL!  Towers are the only way to go here.  You can't build out, so you have to build up!  High land value makes space in high demand!

@ ALL: Thanks again for all the replies!  I hope you are enjoying this CJ

    NOTICE:  HELP WANTED:

I am looking for one way to make my CJ even better:  having a great logo!  My current logo (the picture in my signature) really isn't the best, but its the best "photoshopping" skills I have.  Is there anyone with "good" photoshopping skills that may be interested in developing a cool logo for this CJ

If you would like to take a shot at it, send me a PM or post below and I will send you some photos that showcase the best of the Greater Terran Region.  Thanks again!

    Update 1.6 is coming soon!

    Best,

    -Haljackey
