I want to put pictures of my downtown but when the load does not appear, how come what should I do?

Best method is to use an online image storage site like the following:

https://s911.photobucket.com

http://imageshack.us/

then just post the link or image code in the body of the message for the image to be available for us to see.

The Humble beginnings to Groovington's E.Bear Mtn CBD.

Only have 1 HT building so far, but this whole area will develop into the CO/HT district of the region.

Nice City, I think you should try to use less Maxis Buildings and more BATS, just for some variety. Oh.. and in my personal opinion, the highways would be nicer if they were Project Symphony...  but they do look nice as they are.

Looking neat! I take it you're going to fill in some of those grassy areas?

Also, I recommend using some seawalls.

I actually enjoy the grassy spaces around the area. Breaks up the ubber congestion most cities look like. My downtown (as small as it is here in RI), has lots of grassy parks here and there around the city.

also agree with the seawalls, or riprap, retention walls.  It does look a bit strange the way it just ends at the coast line.

Loving all the different CBD styles guys.

Here's the downtown area of Tantico CIty in a mosaic. Its a bit of a mix of stuff as its form my natural (and vanilla) growth CJ (link in sig if anyone want's to view the whole thing). As you can see no high density zoning just yet seeing as the region only has a population of 100k, but some tall buildings are beginning to appear.

Hope you guys like it despite it being vanilla SC4 and Rush Hour.

Cheers

It does not matter. I think that this area looks very nice.

One question, though. At the center of the image, right next to that "battery" looking IND, there are four similar houses. One of them - the one on right - seems to be missing somethin. There is a purple, kind of transparent looking square. I do not recall seeing that bug before. :lost:

An updated full shot of Crestview

I really like this one. Well done.

Didn't notice that the first time I looked through the image, but you are right, almost like a missing "pixel" in the image.

Would a missing car prop be factor in that? Since it seems to be in the place that car prop would be based on the other house's driveways around that one.

Nice coastal city you got there Reform! Can't wait till my region matures enough to have such a vision

Thanks

Nope that would be my editing screwing up the picture slightly. Up until now I hadn't realised but I would assume that I deleted that bit by accident when merging the pictures together. My bad lol.

Thanks and no it shouldn't be a missing prop as I haven't touched anything in the game files or dled anything. As mentioned above I think its just my editing.

Bipin: Thanks.

City_Master that looks really cool and realistic. That circular building on the right is pretty funky.

Cheers

Mark_Kochan, I like your city. Are you using any mods other than NAM? I just recently got into the mods myself, and they will make you rethink everything. Prepare for months of downloading, and then more months of planning before actually playing the game if you do choose to look at mods.

Thanks. Well actually nothing much. The only mods I have that actually affect anything besides aesthetics are the NAM, a realism mod (that makes fences in suburban areas which doesn't really apply to a downtown) and road-top mass transit (which unfortunately appears to lack avenue bus stops...). You'll probably also notice most of the actual hi-rise lots are residential here, although this is the main commercial centre of the city. I laid out the avenues before building. You can also see the monorail line to the airport that required some terraforming.

Roadtop Mass Tranist has avenue bus stops. I am using the version 3.60. Perhaps you missed something while installing those files?

In the menu there are options for one-way-street/road and streets/roads but nothing for avenues. It was a single file download. I tried another download with multiple files but it didn't work properly.

I see that. It looks a bit sloppy though. You could smooth out that area by using the plopping-single-unconnected-road-tiles-next-to-each-other method and even use the "setsealevel" cheat to form the land under the water. You could even play around with monorail bridges there.

I actually find it enjoyable using the technique of terraforming on a tile by tile bases to create the smooth hills. When you select the raise or lower terraforming brush, Hold the Select button while you press the number 1 or 2 (brush size) & F1 or F2 for brush strength. You can then raise or lower a single tile to the desired level. Just be away the tile corner is what is actually effected on the north west side of the tile. You'll understand what I mean if you play around with this feature.

I personally use it to terraform the on/off ramps to the bridges to avoid that unsightly incline/decline created by the bridge's own terraforming.
