Silur - Thanks for the Cyrillic, it will certainly come in useful 9.gif

Bokrif- Yeah, thats why i'm doing them... I'm needing a semi-realistic Power Plant to fill a whole in one of my cities but I couldn't find one, so, just thought I'd take it upon myself to bat one. Its going to take a while to finish (maybe another week at the least) but it will certainly be worth it.

It's A, not O, you're thinking of O, the Russian O can be both O, and A, like in Gava-, but O in Rossiya.

but not the A, it's the same as the Latin A.

I see that you didn't see when i transfered nash mir - nasha gordost to latin, i forgot to change the  C  to  S in nasha gordost.

lol. Well it is po, just write in Yandex or in google.ru. Po russki. And well it seems that you still need to learn Russian more, start from the basics. And well - Wi znaeete kirillicy i govorite po russki? or Ja znaiu kirilicy i govoriu po russki (And well don't try using english whit russian, if you know french it will be better for russian). So po russki, is correct if you write in russian.

Why don't we not take over Burro's BAT thread for debating how to speak Russian. And lets play nice also.

Also burro - looking awesome. Attempted to texture and render that Su-39 in normal BAT, but well, it had multiple material layers, far beyond my find the textures after exporting from 3ds max skillz 3.gif

Only hope now is Bat4max (eww 3.gif)

W? Where the hell did W come from? The Russians lack a W, they always replace it with V.

Can you please write that in Cyrillic?

...I can speak russian... it was my first language 4.gif... but  I think it's about time we stop spamming El Burro's thread, eh?

On topic, I have to say that detial is impressive!  You're using 3ds right?  Mental ray by any chance?  It would look awesome with it (and it would render much much faster and with higher quality)

I'm not too bothered, as long as it doesn't become a flame war about who can speak the best whatever.

    Anywho...

Autovino - I do use mental Ray on occasion, i'm not sure wich ones best though... I usually use the Day lighting one, but that means putting in some lights.

I used Mental Ray for this render, with Mr.Sun lighting (hence the golden-ness)... took about 30 mins 24.gif

Some Distillation towers and small oil tanks wich are part of the main building. The pipes will feed from here onto the roof tops and into burners on the inside of the building... or something like that-

In soviet russia your bat BATs you!

How's my russian dialect of Yokof Smirnof?

Anyways, awesome building bro. Those buildings that echopapa has provided seem interesting, a few of them look the same, but you can defintly see some inginuity in some of them... There is one that looks like a modern building which I found interesting.

It looks so realistic! I like the grime and all of the other stuff that most dirt industrial buildings have on them.

did you also use mr-sky?  the thing (by the looks of it) is that you forgot to turn on final gatherer.

in the indirect illuminations tab, under basic check enable Final Gatherer.  Set the multiplier to 1.0, fg point density to about .5 (.1 would be draft, but the higher the value the higher the quality), rays per fg point at about 50 (same with point density, the higher the value the higher the quality but the longer the time it takes) interpolat over num fg points to 30, diffuse bounces set to 5 is pretty good with weight at 1.  This enalbes more advanced raytracing which greatly increases realism.  Render time goes up (depending on your fg settings), but getting the same effects in scanline (I think) would take much much longer.

    here's an example:

    t1.jpg

this image took 14 seconds to render in scanline and is of much lower quality and realsim than this one:

    t2.jpg

now this one took 12 seconds to render with mental ray and is more "beautiful to the eye" than the first one because it has color blending (with more realistic lighting) and looks more realistic in general (but I guess you can't call a bunch of boxes floating in air realistic, can ya?)

Thanks for the tips Autovino, works very well 9.gif

Heres a quick update, added some small roof junk items and some extra pipe eye candy. Also updated the Chimney textures so they match the rest of the building -

    oilplantwhatever.jpg

Next, I think i'll add some Alpha texture decals... some extra dirtyness, especially to the those clean brick walls 2.gif

Yeah, I would add some dirtyness and a coal texture on some of the wall.

This must be the best powerplant BAT I've seen since Marrast worked on his Battersea plant. 25.gif
