Wow, 21 comments! I think the most I've had was only 15. But hey, your CJ really deserves it. 9.gif

Clever use (again) of the parking garage. I'm sure that whatever gets built there will blend in well with the existing buildings. Can't say anything else about that great teaser shot besides the fact that you are obsessed with construction lots. 3.gif Looking forward to the update!

First of all, congratulations on the comments. It must feel very rewarding to be making that many people so happy. You're also approaching the 1000 mark, an important milestone for any CJer.

Your teaser captures the busy atmosphere of the city, which you've done by putting all that construction there and that highway in the back.

gabry85: Yes, there will be a freeway view, as well as a river view! Hope you like the update!

CarmineHilton: Yes, the building boom is clearly taking place. One time I had to answer 35 replies, but it wasn't for one update like before. Hope to see you here again!

jacqulina: Thanks, Jacky; I thought you'd like the parks!

bbfan02: Thanks; hopefully I can break that record with this update!

    Update 39- The Penthouses

This'll be a first for me: an entire update consisting of nothing but mosaics! Let's see how this is received...

    Aurora-ConstructionSite1.jpg

Just to refresh everyone's memory, this site was under construction when we last visited it. Now let's see the area 15 months later...

This shot is for contrast against my new shots. This is the poorest area of Aurora, know informally as the Den of Muted Voices.

The condos are now completed! Let's take a look at the area before...

Gorgeous, as always Dan. I really like the mosaic! You have quite the way with the transportation and beautification of SC4. I love your shots, and can't wait for another legendary mosaic.

Fantastic update! The quick growth of Aurora is amazing. You're using some great BATs to transform empty areas into spectacular ones. Both post-construction mosaics were colorful and lively.

Perhaps time for a region shot? Please?

Wow, excellent! You have become a great mosiac-maker! Excellent bats in there and great on/off ramps of the sunken highway!

Nice update, I really like your highway with the gently rising ramps and walls. As always your use of parks and filler tiles is superb.

I knew you'd have an update like this someday. 3.gif

All in all, it turned out excellently! Nice building choice for the (previously shown) construction site. It compliments the sunken freeway well, and it's no surprise to see your wonderful LE talents used around the brand new addition to Aurora's skyline once again. Good to see the DMV area again (kinda remains me of driving, hence the acronym) in the form of a mosaic. I like those parking lots/alleyways behind the apartments that are parallel to the freeway. Awesome set of penthouses, both Maxis and custom-made. I'd sure like to live there! The views of the sea must be incredible. Keep up the great work, Dan! 9.gif

I have already looked to that tutorial: too dificult for me 3.gif. But in the first picture of the review by the The Official City Journal Critics Thread I see a pond for a airport. How do you get that leaves in it? Is that a depandecy? I can't see them when I build them...

Replies, along with the next update will be on Saturday. Be wary...

EDIT: Yes, there are people props for the plaza, they occur at random intervals; I just took the shot at the wrong time 10.gif

Oh, don't say that. You weren't gone that long. Now if you were missing for a month, now then I'd be worried... 3.gif

I know you edit most of the lots in Aurora, but I see one that you didn't have to tinker with. 2.gif Nice to see some plazas and buildings with different textures. And the curve in the road as well as the traffic is once again cool. I can't wait to see what you have in store for us, Dan!

    Overview!

The update will be delayed due to a combo of Simtropolis being down on Saturday and RL. Here's something you've been waiting for, like the salivating dogs that you are 3.gif!

    Aurora-FullOverview.jpg

Ooh, an overview! As you can see, there is a TON of open space left for Aurora. I will definitely update on Tuesday, my next day-off. So stay tuned...

Yes! I've really been awaiting an overview of the beautiful city of Aurora with much enthusiasm, and I'm amazed with how good the city looks from high up above. Even though most of the tile hasn't been used yet, that is quite a bit of development so far. I'm not surprised, after all, Aurora's been getting the limelight for months now. But that's alright. 9.gif

I'll admit, I am one of those 'salivating dogs.' 3.gif

    Salivating dogs? Yep, that's me.

I've been waiting for this so long, and honestly, it's much spectacular than anything I could think of. The terrain is beautiful and colorful, thanks to all of those wonderful trees and that great water texture. The spacing is pretty calm compared to many other downtowns I've seen, both from down low and up high. There's still a lot to fill in though, and I can't wait to see it.

Those tunnels got me thinking: are you going to be making bridges or will you leave the majority of the river unobstructed? Of course you won't answer, being the mysterious mastermind that you are.

Aurora looks very interesting, both close up and overviewed! I reckon there should be a large park where citizens can relax and take in the skyline.
