Welcome to my first CJ!! I've been working on this region for some time now, but now I think it is ready to be showcased. This first post is just a teaser for now, more pics will follow in the coming days.

The Capital City of Bevelle

cityofbevellecentralsquuh9.jpg

The Central Square, where various events are held, such as political rallies and Ricky Martin concerts 2.gif

cityofbevellecentralstaan5.jpg

Bevelle's Central Station, one of the busiest in the country.

And just one more pic before I fall asleep...

cityofbevelleoldcityhalfz5.jpg

Bevelle's old City Hall, now open as a historical site and museum.

I'm open to any and all comments/critiques!

Wow, what a beautiful capital city. I'd move there in snap! (although I've said that in a bunch of other CJs... But hey, who says I can't have 17 houses?)

Markus J: Thanks for being the 1st person to comment! The city does have some British touches to it, but it wasn't intentional 2.gif

The boy formerly known as Evil Muzz: Thanks! That's exactly the look I was going for 19.gif

ajay_law: If you like the canals in the teaser, I'm sure you'll like the canals in this update!

jacqulina: Thank you for your kind words!

Voulpiotis: Thanks, so am I! 9.gif

hijodecordoba: I think that all cities should have more open spaces; it keep people from getting too claustrophobic. Thanks for the

                             comment!

penguin007: Thanks, and your wait is now over!

    Schulmanator: There's more to come...

granto93: Yeah, it's one of my favorites, too 1.gif

jrhnemo: Well, 1 bedroom apartments in the city start at 1100 simoleons, but I think I can cut you a deal 2.gif

2nerdy4u: Thank you, and here's the first update!

    Update 1: Seat of Government

    cityofbevelleentranceviul9.jpg

The main point of entry from the other side of the Blackjack River.

    cityofbevellechancellorws4.jpg

The Chancellor's Mansion is located centrally in the city. Most of the main roads lead up to it.

    cityofbevelletreasurylf3.jpg

Left to right: The treasury building and Bevelle's City Hall

    cityofbevellefederalpolyl3.jpg

The main headquarters for Bevelle's Federal Police Force.

    cityofbevelledepartmentwo4.jpg

The Department of Transportation handles Bevelle's intricate road infrastructure.

    cityofbevelletheaterla1.jpg

One of Bevelle's oldest theaters, painstakingly restored to its original beauty.

    cityofbevelle501freewaycg4.jpg

The 501 Freeway cuts right through the city. It is sunken below street level to dampen traffic noise from nearby neighborhoods.

    cityofbevelleprettyshotrt3.jpg

Just thought I'd throw a couple of pics of my favorite areas. This neighborhood flanks the western side of the cemetery.

    cityofbevelleprettyshotba4.jpg

...and the final shot for this update, another piece of eye candy.

Keep your eyes peeled for more!!

suplado! Thanks for your comment! It's a little extra work to get the slopes just right, but when it's finished, it's worth the effort 1.gif

I should have another update tonight or tomorrow. Later....

Great teaser! I love how there's dirt by the baseball fields, it adds to the realism.

I love your transit networks, especially the slopes you have on your tunnel lead-ups. Good architecture as well.

you have a great style. your city looks historic and modern at once and i think your defenitvly right by prefering open spaces. ut your traffic system is good too.

jacqulina (1st post): Thank you! The canals were one of the focal points of the city, so I am glad you and everyone else seems to

                                      like them!

2nerdy4u (1st post): It took me forever to get it just right, but good things come to those who wait 2.gif

2nerdy4u (2nd post): All the parks around the area where I live has a similar look with dirt pathways. I feel it is a nice touch 9.gif

daskos99: The look of Faneuil Hall fit in so perfectly with the city, I had to use it twice!

The_Hutt: It looks more realistic with a gradual slope rather than a short, abrupt one. Thanks for noticing!

jacqulina (2nd post): There's much more in the future...

penguin007: The only thing I don't like about that pic is the gap underneath the road overpass. If only there were some way to fix

                         that...

    sebbyb07: Thanks!

sims co.: The usage of tunnels gives me more space to work with in my cramped city tile. I appreciate your comment!

    hijodecordoba: Thank you very much!

Update 2- Government & The Sights

    cityofbevelleparliamenteh2.jpg

Left to right: The House of Parliament and Bevelle's Museum of Natural History. This picture was taken in early fall.

    cityofbevellewardepartmdr0.jpg

The War Department. The country is usually docile, but it is ready at a moments notice whenever a serious threat rises 22.gif

    cityofbevellewarmemoriajm3.jpg

The Tusselgren War Memorial. It is dedicated to the brave men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice in the Tusselgren War nearly 80 years ago to this day.

    cityofbevellewarmemoriavz0.jpg

The Petrocan War Memorial. This is another somber reminder of the great price for the country's freedom it enjoys today.

Well, lets liven things up a bit, shall we? Onward to the sights!

    cityofbevellehotelrivernt8.jpg

The Bevelle Embassy Suites Hotel. It offers beautiful panoramic views of both the city center and the Blackjack River. The famed RiverWalk begins here.

    cityofbevelleshoppingcele5.jpg

The capital is well-known throughout the region for its many shopping areas. This one is conveniently located off of Freeway 512 (Upper right-hand corner)

    cityofbevellefinancialdiy5.jpg

The Financial District, where some of the biggest corporations in the country have set up shop.

    cityofbevellefinancialdsc3.jpg

The same area shown at night.

    cityofbevellefinancialdio2.jpg

Another beautiful night shot of the Financial District.

    cityofbevelleavenueyintoo9.jpg

And the final pic of this update is the Grand Avenue Y-Intersection.

Well, there you have it; the latest update. Be sure to check back in for more!!

2nerdy4u: Even with all the great BAT buildings on the STEX, some of the original Maxis ones are great themselves. Thanks for dropping by again!

hijodecordoba: I thank you again, my friend! I'm glad you appreciate those plazas because I had to make a ton of puzzle pieces in the Lot Editor to make them just right 19.gif

To All Readers: Since a lot of people liked one of my pics with the GLR underpass, I thought I'd give ya'll another pic of it...

    cityofbevelleglrslopeeo3.jpg

    Enjoy, people!!
