Loving it Simfox. "I'm curious how the details will translate into Simcity 4"... and I think the answer is that they won't really, they are just implied there, and it looks awesome.

    Jason:

I'm not sure I get what you mean... What scale?

    Scipio:

hmm... same problem as with Jason... I guess I'm sorta slow tonight...

The little problem with Ukraina and few other models is that in a zeal to give a test drive to Max2009 I'm done some modeling there. ther are few very neat features... but as it happens Mental Ray there has some problem with BAT. Namely it frames the output window a bit wrong way. As a result FSHs do not match the LOD shell... I'm a bit at a loss what to do. My knowledge of either MR (and particulary somme neances of changes introduced in Version 3,6 or MaxScript - to compensate for them isn't quite there. But AS you who use Max know it isn't backward compatible. I head though about some script that supposedly allow such compatibility but I don't quite know where to get it...

So I'm now thinking what to do.

Ideally some solution for the new MR issue should be found. Cause it not it may spell the big problem for the future... And I'm trying to decipher the Scripts. Made some progress. I'll be uploading in ThinkTank thread updated version of Bat4Max (say version 2.1) that has some practical modifications so stay tuned...

Maybe it's because I'm not familiar which such monumentally scaled architecture, both in real life and in the game, but I'm having trouble relating to the size of some of the ornament.  The architecture and its scale and proportions are so monumental.  Normally there are things like railings, or standard sized doors, or window mullions, or something that help convey a sense of scale, which are the types of things that I think need to be added.  I'm having trouble describing what I mean, but I know that you know what I mean and you'll make sure it's right by the time it's done.

Also, your STEX descriptions were messed up in the attacks last month, you'll need to go back and fix them for your uploads to work correctly.

Well yes this types of building were built to impress. For instance those arched windows on the ground floor are almost 2 standard floors tall! Columns in flaking the entrance are 1,6 meters in cross-section and 14 meters tall (almost 5 storey in modern/suburbian buildings scale)

here is a recovered (from Max2009 to Max 2008) Ukraina, view at eh main entrance to hotel:

    I second El Burro's comment.

FrostTower it is practically ready... only roof-top left to be textured, then lighting (standard one I use on residentials) and It could be available either tomorrow evening or early next week:

Neat building. About placing it in a pond, I hope the building is an "adult" community. Even as a 27 year old I would be tempted to drop something from way up to see the splash. I can only imagine how tempting it would be to 8-12 year old me!

I know, I was thinking the same thing.

I bet the water is like 2 feet deep though, which wouldn't generate a suffcient splash.

That would make it more individual which would be nice but to be honest i could imagine these being built in the same communal style as a sort of residential megalot and a statue would really detract from that. Whatever happens in the pond, it looks great!

Yeah, I also think of this a a base for mass development, but (to be totally honest) I just don't have anything in mind (for a public art in a pond) at the moment (apart from the fountain near the Centre Pompidou, but that wouldn't really fit residential building...

The building is basically finished. and light.

And here I need your advise. What lighting is better nro. 1 or nro. 2?

Difference isn't all that huge, but still which way should I go. I just can't decide on my own... :-/

Given that this is residential building, and pretty regular one, I don't think there is any need or justification for exterior illumination. But Lobby... well I just nor sure how and even should I light it.

personally for a residential building think there are too many lights on.... but out of the two the left hand one hints at interior detail more strongly so i would say that it is preferred.
