Hello Simtropolis, that made a long time that I am here, but I ever had time to create my own BAT.

It's time now!!!

at the moment, I use gmax but 3dmax will not delay!

I started with something of simple... six small houses!

OK they is all the same ones, but I will make various versions of the roof.

I'm not satisfied with the night lighting cause it's the default Bat night maps who is not terrible i find...  14.gif

...and I have, moreover problem with the night lighting in game, but I without dout will find the solution.

Here a test of one, perhaps, future realization.

Ovo Stadium

Started modeling in Blender long time ago. Still much of work on that one, is not textured and the interior is ridiculous.

Sorry if I does not answer very quickly, but that takes an insane time to me to write in English, But I can only improve.

This week, i undergone a true attack of RL... but I like that!!   29.gif

    -Jasoncw: Thank you Mister, i noticed that you were very active in the "BATforMAX thread". Your BAT thread is very useful for me too!  2.gif

    -The houses are finished soon but I must still fix some small details, no pictures at the moment, but I will try to show you ingame pics quickly.

    -I have started to test the "BATforMAX" and I must say that it is 10'000x better than the  26.gif  32.gif  BATforGmax!!! 

    Need a little time to familiarize me with the raytracing and the shaders. Last night, I carried out this...

    Again, it is very simple and without claim. NOPIXEL is a small graphics company of one of my friend, but the building does not exist.

    Still work on the roof, the entry and the windows...

    Not made yet a test of export but I believe in it... 29.gif

    small, somewhat generic, but nevertheless well done work so far.

    al little details like firestairs... especially roofjunk...

    and it's ready for its final render

    Nice so this is how you do it, the first image of the skeleton of the No pixel school, answers alot of questions for me , and gives me many ideas , the clerk of works wouldnt be happy , but from a modeling piont of view you have a very good method, its made me completely reconsider ,many early modeling issues i had yet to overcome , thanks for showing the bat in that form in the 1st picture . Im a newbie to bat and shots like that are a mini tutorial in themselves , thanks for sharing , and the school looks great .

    yea i just got 3ds. myself, its a ton better. your models are awesome, could you make an american football version of the soccer one?

    First off, the houses look great - I particularly like the roof textures, they look very, very convincing.

    The Nopixel building, for some reason though doesn't quite convince me, and I think I might know why... The gradient's going the wrong way. it needs to be dark at the bottom, not the top. It's fixed easily enough... Just go into your graphics editor and flip that texture horizontally vertically. It'll fix it.

    Also, I'd consider a concreteish texture variant on the walls, I think a brutalist version of that would look rather good.

    It also looks a little stumpy. scale it up vertically a bit.

    The stadium looks good, it just needs some good textures to bring it to life. The only thing I might suggest is scaling it up a little... making it a bit more spacious (even smaller stadiums take up quite a bit of land) would look better. It doesn't need to be hugely bigger - even 10% bigger might, IMHO

    patriots_1228: Thank you Mister, most difficult for me will be to finish it... 46.gif...but it will be well-on possible to make an American football of it!

    SystemUK: For the lines, i started with a simple cube and I used the orders Extrude and Bend. For the ground, it is a simple Plane.

    jayo: Good question... 19.gif...I have no idea... 20.gif...as I have say it, this building does not exist in the RL. It can be what you want! 3.gif

    cammo2003: Thx for feedback!  44.gif  For the roof of the house, I have to create all the tiles and I grouped them in 4 groups

                              with different textures.It is much of work but the result is convincing.

                              For NOPIXEL, i reversed the texture of walls (picture2), but I am not convinced of the result… your opinion?

                              I will consider a concreteish texture variant on the walls... when I have time...!

    I added small details and tested the Omni inside. I was not very inspired for the roof, not sure that will remain like that!?!?

    I am an autodidact in modeling and I does not do it in a very academic way... but if that can help.

    I am pleased to announce you that…  Ovo Stadium is in 3dmax!!!

    OK, just a part but it is a beginning.

    I will remake the part of bottom. Because of my way of modelling it, I am blocked to make modifications. 15.gif   a long work awaits me!

    Hello all!

    NoPixel is ingame but there remains problems...

    I used some omni light for the nightlight, but can somebody explain me how to export it please???

    I have “to manually assemble it” in the READER???

    or to make a second export on the same model???

    I have also another trouble. With certain Zoom, the model is replaced by a brown-box. But in the READER, all the preview are ok. 46.gif

    I use 3dMAX7.

    I hope that my questions are clear.

    Hmmm... odd problems. Since I don't BAT, however, unfortunately I cannot answer your questions.

    As for the building, it doesn't look bad, but IMHO something is missing somehow... maybe you could try making the ground floor different from the other floors? The building looks really boxy so far. Oh, and I think that wall around the roof (no idea what it's called) is too thick.

    There should be instructions with the BAT4Max download (after the install instructions) on how to manually do it.

    Basically, run the *filenameofyourBAT*.bat file in your 3ds max BAT4Max folder, which will asssemble the .fsh files from your ouput folder.  Then you open the .SC4Model file, and you sort by filetype, delete all of the .fsh files, right click, and insert all of the new ones.

    The filename slot in 3ds max needs to have the .sc4model file name, and the LODs in your 3ds max scene need to be the same LODs that you exported before.  But aside from that, you can re-render over and over again, switch the .fsh files in and out as many times as you want, without needing to re-export the .SC4model file from the BAT.

    The brown box problem means that some of the files in your .SC4Model file are not there.  And remember that .SC4Model files are not files themselves, they are container files, which hold the true files (.fsh, for example), read the BAT Mega Faq for more info.

    Although I don't know why they would "be there" when viewing the model from the Reader, and not there in the game.

    Jasoncw: thx again for your support!!!  5.gif    I use the AutoExecute commande when I thus export the model so i never sought the .bat file...

    I all understands well that you say thereafter, but my troubles are always the same ones… I perhaps will seek side of the deltree.exe!

    I use that which comes with the batformax, perhaps that by making it manually, that will function...!?!?

    when I look in the outputfile folder, I have 25 .FSH files... that does not seem to me correct...

    My English is very limited, that does not help me to solve this kind of problems… but I do not despair to arrive there a day.

    If your English is very limited, which languages do you understand better? Maybe there's someone hanging around here who could help you out...

    Oh, and I think it's a very smart approach to get a grip of all the important functions of the BAT first and then move on to more ambitious projects. ALthough I wouldn't say that your current BAT is bad. There's just this odd feeling that something is missing... I can't pin it down to any definite point, though. Very annoying.

    On a more positive note, it is clearly visible that you have already started on a very high level, so I don't doubt that your current BAT will eventually convince me. 2.gif

    Mon papa á fume une pipe iis just about all the French I can speak. Oh, that and je ne parlais pas Français (I don't speak French). 4.gif Wish I had learned it when I had the chance though.

    That Nopixel school looks good, but perhaps it needs a back exit. A backdoor, with the occasional boiler room. Also, some airco's in the windows could work - if you're making a North-American or Asian building. The model's good, but looks a bit bland (that means empty in a somewhat boring way).

    I decided to put my three projects in stand-by, because I want to make ships and Swamper77 will carry them out in automata.

    Don't ask me how it makes, I have any idea. It's, at the beginning an idea of Ennedi to make the lakes and seas more alive.
