I'm sorry I haven't been checking out this city journal more often!! My apologies!!

Excellent use of custom content in your cities, and I really like the picture editing you do for each picture. Excellent work with your urban areas and I await more of this! 4.gif Your night shots are also incredible, and very unique; not like some of the other stuff I have seen. Great work ! 44.gif

Wow, I'm jealous of that penthouse! Good job on the mosaic.

As for any potential CJ, the city in question is still being made, so it's going to be a while.

Voulpiotis: Thanks buddy!  Glad you liked the mosaics, lately I've been making one for every update.

SpecialEddie: Heh heh, I figured. 3.gif Most of my downtowns look exactly like this, but obviously with a different selection of buildings.  One of these days I need to make a smaller downtown.  Thanks for the comment Eddie!

jacqulina: Hey Jacky!  I'm sure that you will be happy to hear that Auburn Valley is returning very soon.  The next couple mosaics will probably be daytime ones, because I haven't had one for a while.  Thank you for the great comment!

zelgadis: One word: plazas.  They help out immensely for downtown realism.  Civic buildings, mass transit stations, and a well-laid out transportation network also are big factors that I always consider when constructing large cities.  Regarding your comments about RB, I laughed about the one about the avenue, because one is located right below the soccer stadium! 3.gif But yeah, I should have made another avenue or one-way road through the upper half.  Some spots are narrow, but I was actually more worried about some areas being undeveloped, particularly at the bottom of the picture where those two retail shops (made by spa) are.  I was trying to get another one to grow, but none did.  I'll just have to resort to plopping it, I guess.  May I ask what the bright idea was?  Or will I have to go to NC and see? 3.gif Anyway, thank you very much for that comment.

bbfan02: Thank you!  The penthouse is the Emerald Park Building by cobb32118. 9.gif

Mikeaut1: Hey Mike.  Nice to see you around!  I take a lot of picture editing inspiration from many of the amazing members on ST that have those talents.  I preferred to use the style I'm using right now because it really brings out the color and the lights of the buildings.  Also, it's something different.  Thanks for commenting! 10.gif

    ilikehotdogsalot: Thanks, mosaic master! 3.gif

Schulmanator: Too bad it wasn't, it would look awesome in any room.  My room is simply filled with posters, video game, NASCAR, car, and movie ones.  There's also a bunch of cutouts of various thing I like on my walls, too. 9.gif

edmonton_stinks: Yeah, I wish I lived somewhere like that!  But the fire escape plan is very long from that high up... so maybe living in a one-story house in a suburb is fine with me. 4.gif

Here's some really good news on the status of this CJ.  I actually did very, very well this semester!  Straight A's!  So tomorrow I plan to jump right back into SC4 and pick up where I left off two weeks ago.  So much for Auburn Valley being on hold, huh?  Expect Part Three to arrive soon!

Well, my "idea" was much related to something I used to do but stopped doing. It's probably going to be awhile before I get around to trying again. I do take your point about plazas, and given what you have said here, I have another thought... You'll have to wait to see what it is though. 3.gif

Hey, at least they'd have a fire escape plan. I'm in a two story house in the suburbs, so it's a similar idea to you, except I'd have to jump out the window. Problem is, it's a long way down and there are a bunch of pointy rocks and rosebushes below my bedroom window. I'd either have to dash to my sister's room or maybe try to jump onto my neighbours' roof. 3.gif

Great job on the report card! Looking forward to the update, got exams myself right now. Good to hear that you're not on hold--this CJ is too good.

Hi, kyle, great job on these last two updates, they are very well handled. The only thing I noticed they might need work is the sidewalks. I can't tell if I like them or not though, it makes it stand out more on the one hand, but also prevents the streets from blending in with base textures. I have no idea where you got such a huge collection of high-rise buildings, but they sure look great together. Even though they have different styles they seem to blend together to form a very  unique form of architechure. I especially like the night time photos, very colourful and they highlight the skyline well.  And to boot the sharpening effect you've used really adds a nice feel to all of them aswell. Sorry for the long comment, couldn't help myself.

zelgadis:  Ah, I see it now.  Well, not really. 3.gif I'll be sure to keep an eye out for your "idea."

Schulmanator: Thanks!  You might want to think twice about that if it's in math.  That class gives me the most trouble, but I managed to remain fairly consistent throughout the months.

edmonton_stinks: Heh heh!  That's a pretty dangerous landing zone, I sure wouldn't want to jump down on hazards like that!  All I would have to do is crawl through the window.  I'd probably have to break the screen first, though.  Thanks for the continued support!

crazyyaya: I actually like long comments, so don't say you're sorry ever again. 3.gif  Yeah, it's too bad that the textures don't match up.  However, I don't really regard that as a major problem at all.  I use the sidewalk mod because it adds a lot of detail to them, such as the parked cars and trees, which you've probably noticed already.

I never have a skyline that has a mass of repeating buildings.  But sometimes it takes a long time for something different to grow, so I'll just end up plopping them.  The huge selection of NDEX skyscrapers can account for the variety as well.  Then again, every little bit helps, so if you see a building you like, download it!  Thanks for the long comment, I really enjoyed reading it! 9.gif

abcvs: Thanks, Craig.  I try to always put school first, but most of the spare time I have is spent on the computer.  During the weekdays, though, I'll make it a point to get homework finished.  Las year I procrastinated quite a bit, and it showed in my grades.  They were pretty decent (half A's and B's) but obviously I could've done better last school year if I tried as hard as I am now.  And yes, I have plenty of fun time throughout the whole year. 10.gif

vivydu29: Thank you, I'm glad you liked it!

CarmineHilton: Yep, building variety comes first in Auburn Valley.  Then parks/plazas, transportation networks... well I think you get the idea! 2.gif Thank you for commenting!

bbfan02: The seawalls really make the area look so much better.  I remember the times where I used to be afraid of using them... now I'm afraid of not using them!

politicman: Thanks, I wanted to use a day shot this time, I think it turned out well!

connorc24: Don't you mean "Great job?" 3.gif Thanks for the comment!

zelgadis (x2): Dan is correct, the plazas are by MAS71.

Dsrwhat316: Hey Dan!  Thanks for telling Ian the location of the parks, and for the great comment! 4.gif

edmonton_stinks (x2): Now now, I wouldn't say that!  I had to redo the mosaic because I screwed it up the first time.  If it was a gift, I wouldn't mess up like that ever. 3.gif

Part 3 is arriving later today.  Thanks for visiting Auburn Valley!

Hey everyone, welcome to Part 3 of Remington Bay!  This is easily the longest update in the 5-part series.  Much of the area shown is pretty densely packed, nearly making it a polar opposite from the area showcased in Part 2.  A basic rule of thumb in that respect is that the closer you get to the ocean, the more densely packed the city is.  Despite the denseness, small plazas lie between massive skyscrapers and along roads.

To kick things off, here are a couple overview shots of the west end of the downtown area.  Residential hi-rises line the shoreline.  Residents on the higher floors are treated to beautiful views of the Remington Bay Port as well as Auburn Bay's massive skyline.

These basketball courts provide a place for some great games played by nearby residents or random passerby.

    Close-ups of the area.

Moving on closer to the area in Part 2, here is the Madison Square Garden.  It's an exact replica of the one in NYC, and is used for exactly the same thing.  Parking is located underground the arena.

    remingtonbaydec41241200wx4.jpg

The Lippo Center stands beside the main city park.

    remingtonbaynov25124120ng1.jpg

Speaking of the park, here it is!  The Remington Bay Central Park.  A more original name is being considered by the city.  It is one of the largest parks in all of Auburn Valley, and plenty of action takes place here throughout the day.

    Night views of various locations.

Many residential skyscrapers border the area around  the city's main hospital.

    remingtonbayaug91261200lv4.jpg

An overview of the Central Park at night.  Notice how several buildings lie inside the park's area.  Over the years, more room was needed for development, so park space was sacrificed.  No more development will take place within the confines of the park.

Lastly, a overview of most of the area in Part 3, with the RBP located at the top.

Very picture heavy. Great skyscraper selection and the park is great too.

The city seems so much more alive at night.
