Yes, our favorite socialite we love to hate is now on house arrest... although house arrest means staying in her multi-million dollar mansion with a full staff of people who cater to her every need.

Since jail apparently isn't a viable option, I would've sent her to live in the slums of LA for the duration of her sentence.  Oh well, maybe there's hope that America doesn't wuss out on Lindsay Lohan and her shenanigans.

Her time is being treated as five days, although I don't think she was in that long.

There is too much special treatment for this woman. She should be incarcerated like any other violator.

Oh geeze, stupid stupid. If anyone was in this situation they were be sitting in jail for 45 like originally planned. 

I had a theory that this little "medical issue" was her not eating the slop they serve in jail. She probably passed out and had to be treated. Even though most jails have a medical center inside they only treat minor things so I dont think they could hook up an IV to you. She would have done this on purpose. But, I doubt she thought of it herself  

My second theory is that her parents paid her way out of it, which is ridiculous. You know that they can't have a bad reputation against the Hilton family. Not like she's hasn't caused enough trouble...

I believe letting Paris Hilton out of prison was done because of the "Cruel and Unusual punishment" clause in the bill of rights. After all, having her close by would have been very cruel and unusual to the other prisoners.

For whatever ridiculous reasons, the world has decided to make this nobody rich kid famous. There are more blogs, web-pic hits, celeb news hits, etc on her than anyone else. Why? Who knows. But the fact is America has made her its darling and with that and the fact that her family is rich, she'll NEVER get "equal treatment", whatever that is. Hell, anybody that touches this case, judges, attorneys, jail wardens, are instant celebrities. Does anyone really think that someone facing the cameras and getting the limelight for 15 minutes of their mundane lives is actually going to act in a sane and realistic manner? The sheriff gets to pitch HIS shtick now that he's done something "innovative" by letting her out. The city attorney gets to pitch his by suing the sheriff. And the beat goes on. My big mystery question is why anyone gives two, uh, whatevers, about Paris Hilton in the first place.

Dont give rats behind about any of these people.
The whole thing reeks of a publicity stunt
on the theory that  any publicity is good publicity for these people
even going to "Prision" is a boon for your career.

 But the rich always get preferentral treatment
it been that way since the dawn of time itself.

How ever if i get arrested for what ever it is she did id ask in open court for the same sentance she got,

If I'm hearing the news right (not to mention the Internet) there really is a backlash to this. I bet the jurisdiction probably would not have predicted it and the family too arrogant to recognize or care about it.

Well, I just heard on my local news that the Judge has ordered Paris to show up to court tomorrow @ 9AM LA time.  Maybe she will be put back in, and for longer this time.

Didn't the judge who sent her to jail stipulate that she would not be eligible for parole, a suspended or an alternative sentence? How much do think it cost to get her out?

I'm starting to think that the only way for Hilton to really get sent off to jail would be if she hit a bus full of handicapped orphans with aids, while driving drunk and snorting coke off of the dashboard.

nope - it's called having good lawyers, it's what this country is based on. Don't forget that she was given preferential treatment and put into an isolated cell in an isolated wing of the building - not in a common cell with a dangerous cellmate, like she deserved

In the meantime, poor lower-middle class slobs are serving 20 years for crimes they didn't commit, or sentences for actions that Hilton did, for 7-10 years.

Reminds me of this rich guy who likes to exceed the speed limit.  He figured that was no problem since he could pay the fines and experience no pain.  He forgot that he was accumulating points on his license.  

After so many points, he got a letter saying he was required to report to driver's re-education training.  He tried to tell them "You don't understand, I'll pay the fines."  They told him "No, you don't understand.  You have shown repeated disregard for the law.  You are a danger to public safety.  You will report to driver's re-education or you will lose your license."

It was a wake-up call for him.
