Simfox, feel free to correct me, but the Elsinore is probably only 26 storey high, not 35. In any case, I do have a feeling that it is going to fit in together with Chicago-tile buildings quiet nicely.

Jeez, Simfox, you make me more and more excited about my two week trip to Moscow!

Ahh, I remember using blender.  I completely hated learning the user interface, it was so confusing, but it was increadibly easy to use after a couple of months of work.

Tonks:

there is an explanation in my Forces of Light and Geometry of Shadows thread. it has been moved to this forum.

Scotty & Partiots:

He, he

Well I guess this reflection is perfect! Perfectly vague that is :-)

Scotty remember that glass reflectivity isn't constant and depends on viewing angle. Even mirrored glass (not a total mirror) follow this principal. If you making glass material from standard or ray-Traced one in MAX put a fall-off map in reflection slot and set it to Fresnel reflection. Then you can play with two slots of Fall-off map to set reflectivity level you desire.

AutoVino:

you'll either love it, or hate it, the city doesn't know middleground, everything is taken to extremes.

Well aren't all St-Petersburgians suppose to hate Moscow; I believe it is a local sport in there ;-)

Although the whole country is ruled now by St.Petersburg Clique of Putin.

Basically two cities couldn't be more different if they were located in two different continents. I'd say both are beautiful in they own right, but Moscow is extremely dynamic and fast city , this way it is more a kin of booming cities in Asia (particularly china - at many place s Moscow and Beijing (if you move people away from the picture) look almost indistinguishable) St.Pet is more like Europe - much more slow. Although it is also go through construction boom. They even have an island project (like those in Dubai) of they own. But I would say that for an large St.Pete had stack in its glorious past, for most people it is very difficult to look forward. And Moscow is all about future and success.

PS autoVino - there is something for you:

Hey, the nighmaps are annoying me lol. they show up during the render, but not in the game or i-lives reader (the omnis in the lobby do). The lights are apparant in the FSH files.

That is most probably cause you export your stuff still using Scanline - for it nightmaps aren't lights so they are not included into night alpha. so, naturally - you don't see them. Do one of the following - either switch to MR and use FG - then those will be treated as lights, or if you still want to use Scanline follow the naming convention described in BAT redme
