That is quite possible the strangest building I have ever seen. I'm guessing it's supposed to look like wire mesh 6.gif

Well it is a baby of i-Mad new and upcoming Beijing architectural firm. It's gonna be new Symbol of Tianjin new CBD - the "Pudong of the North" that is now under intensive constructions on the western outskirts of the city. I personally in love with it :-) of course it is a bit of an opproximation as the precise pattern of cells cizes is very difficult in not impossible to replicate with resonable amount of work.

I think it's pretty damn cool.

There must be a trend for companies that make building materials to commision unique looking skyscrapers for their headquarters. IE the US steel building in Pittsburgh.

Not a fan at all of the SinoSteel building, but Simfox has done a great job replicating it44.gif

Funny you mention that hamster.

One PPG ( they make glass 3.gif ) place is also pretty inreresting and unique looking, imo.

I did a building lightly based off it once.

Omigosh..."feasibility study"?!?!. Despite all the garish twisting and turning towers being proposed in a number of cities, the SinoSteel tower is definitely the most visually far-out and bizarre of the bunch. The cool oogle it side in me loves it!

The conservative side in me has been eyeballing the curved classical facade of the Takashimaya Department Store at Osaka's Nankai Namba Station. Beautiful urban face, though Japanese rail stations tend to be many-tentacled monster complexes, making it hard to discreetly separate the rear of the store structure as it blends into the sprawling megastation.

Glenni... HamsterTK... don't forget about the old Alcoa building... Made from the aluminum that company is based on.

alcoa.jpg

They have since moved north to the other side of the river of course...

Glenni, you did a BAT similar to One PPG? I'd love to see that!

YAY!! You've seen the light my friend!  Finally someone who uses max because it's fun to make the shapes, even if they're completely useless for SC4! 3.gif

The image I was supposed to post a few posts back:

beethamwestar6.jpg

Im gonna completely scrap that glass texture as there is little or no definition between the random cladding. Also I need to finish the base (details).

P1010348.jpg

The base glass also needs to be greener and I need to add the opening parts to the windows, can be done with some simple cloning and boolean.
