I've been looking at all these pics and I LOVE it, I really want to know where you got all these awesome bats. One thing specifically those giant mining vehicles. And buildings. And ships. And everything else.

First off, I'd like to apologize for not updating since the middle of August.  This CJ is pretty much a development thread for Crystal City, and that one was also severely lacking in updates during that time.  RLS kinda killed me there for a bit.

But now that I'm working hard on CC again, that means I have more to bring you in this wonderful CJ too.  Thanks for all of your patience, and I hope you like the new stuff.

Schulmanator:  Yeah, the airport project died...I've been seeing all the hyper-realistic airports in the "Show us your airports" thread, and they're whining about the smallest details.  Time to switch to a balloonport, methinks.

    bartonn:  Poor little monkey...buckle up...

jacqulina:  Thanks for the continuous support and advice in terraforming.  I couldn't have done it without seeing your A+ examples

Simunate:  Hey, thanks for checking out the CJ...and for reminding me that I still have this thread here...haha

The ships and scifi bats are mostly done by 2ch.net Simplayer, and can be found on his site that's linked many many times throughout the CJ.  Also linked numerous times is SOMY's site, which has the refinery parts and the mining vehicles.  Hope to see you again soon

You've already seen the stuff in this update, but I've been making it better with recently released materials.

It took awhile, but I bulldozed all the old ploppable water and replaced it with jeronij's new translucent ploppable water.  It looks much much better here on the island of Saraceno.

    Spaceport

    4-2.jpg

And following SpecialEddie's advice, I got rid of the Japanese seawalls that looked out of place here in the town.  Here's what it looked like before with the crappy seawalls and old ploppable water:

    14.jpg

And here's what it looks like now:

    5-1.jpg

    Great, huh?

I'll be building new worlds soon.  The story is taking off...literally, now that they're leaving Apiliani and going to....ooh...look at that...my hot pockets are done.  Don't have time to finish that sentence...see you next time.

suplado!:  Don't you love that translucent water?  As soon as I used it I decided to go change all plopped water everywhere to the new ones.  I've found that I almost love making nature more than cities...

Schulmanator:  Hmmm...apparently back home is the 1890's....haha

Za:  It's a nice change of pace to read through a strictly eyecandy CJ, eh?  It takes awhile, but I recommend checking out Crystal City to see how it all fits with the story.  And if not, the pictures are pretty awesome too...

penguin007:  I learned at the prestigious Jacqulina College of Terraforming.  See you again soon

rct3twins:  Do you know which update it is?  There's a cable car in the mountains that I got from the STEX.  If that's it, I'll find out the exact name of it for you.  I think it was a BSC member

Simunate:  Heh...it's all over the place.  Hope you found what you were looking for.

And now for something completely different....

As the story of the survivors of the end of the world gets darker...

They will travel to darker planets...

The first planet in the Nazarian System

    10th_planet.jpg

The proximity to the sun has beaten the planet for millions of years

Rivers of molten lava flow in ever-changing courses

    1-5.jpg

Volcanoes spring from the ground at any place, and at any time

    5-2.jpg

Ash falls from the sky every minute of every day, and blankets everything

    2-7.jpg

    And yet...life survives...

    4-3.jpg

It takes the galaxy's most dangerous men to live on its most dangerous planet...

    3-7.jpg

That is...if you can call what they do....living...

    Prepare yourself

Can we nickname this place EA Corporate Headquarters? Sorry, just extremely mad at the quality of "societies."

That place is perfectly designed as an evil place. Great Work.

Schulmanator:  Yeah, why would anyone go there willingly?  Unless it was to make a planet-sized wad of cash....

Simunate:  I definitely had to do some digging through the STEX.  Somehow I found this one in a pack with red and green too.  The other exchanges I was referring to were the ones on Pegasus's site - the PLEX (I forgot the P)  and the DEX, I'm not even sure if that's its official name, but it's at SC4 Devotion.

gabry85:  However hot it has to be for rivers of molten rock...that's how hot it is...haha.  I'll say...hotter than a Victoria's Secret model on the hood of a '63 Corvette in Pheonix.

SpecialEddie:  Great eye for my influences.  Mustafar (sp?) definitely inspired this.  You've pointed out the Naboo influence on Apiliani and Kharrazian...will you notice the one for Portalis?  Probably...it's an easy one

Leech10:  That terrain mod is actually supposed to be moon rock.  Or is Myon's moon volcanic?

suplado!:  Hmm...you're right, I should've added wavy heat lines to make it look hotter.  You didn't suggest that, but the idea came to me right after I read your post and before I typed this.  Inspirational!

Za:  Heh...and Io blasts lava into its upper atmosphere...yowza...I can't imagine what that would be like...

crushedcar:  I think the CEO's office is on the top floor of the pure black building next to the oppressive cell blocks...which is where they keep the poor game designers.

rct3twins:  If it's the one I'm thinking of, it's on the STEX, but I can't remember what it's called.  I'll check next time I play, but in the mean time try searching cable car on the STEX.

ruddvantoasty:  Good eye...it's supposed to be moon rock, but I thought it looked enough like ash that it was perfect.  I'm really lucky when it comes to finding just the right BATs or mods at the right time - like the castle by NDEX in this update.

Sorry it's been so long, I haven't had much time to play lately.  Most places Crystal City has been visiting lately have been places that I've already built.  I'll share new places in this CJ, like the new islands in this update.  Hope you enjoy...this is where I let the pictures do the talking for me.

These islands are in northern Apiliani, where things go from tropical

    OverIsland.jpg

    To frigid

    NorthernApilianiIcebergs.jpg

Here is the whole region - it's in the island two packs recently released by Blade2k5.  Check it out

I had to place all the trees on the entire map, which is actually why that chapter of Crystal City took so long to finish.

Here is an abandoned town called Arriosa.  Interesting note, the ship in which our heroes travel is called the Phantom of Arriosa.  You'll learn why in the next s

gabry85:  Yeah...I was a little too lazy to go get some new pictures...but what can you do?

Leech10:  Volcanic moon of Myon...good place for a prison...ha!  Thanks again for the turrets.  I might show them in an update here depending on if I want to give away some surprises...

suplado!:  Heh, thanks.  Placing all those trees was a %$@^$.  You're lucky your CJ is in the desert...

    crushedcar:  Coming right up!

zelgadis:  You didn't miss too much.  Like garby said, these pics were all right from Crystal City.  The volcanic update...yeah, don't want to miss that...

This new section is essentially the same exact area...but 2,000 years in the past.  The next update for Crystal City will explain the name of Trico's ship Phantom of Arriosa.  If you don't remember, Trico lives in a castle overlooking the ruins of the town of Arriosa.  Here is the town as it appears today.

And here it is 2,000 years ago.

And here are some closer views
