Although I never liked the GTA series, GTA IV looks really good! I think I actually might get it this year. 4.gif

I so don't know what I'm doing the next 20 hours until I get myself the game...

it's such a damn feeling to know that I get it myself tomorrow, something I'm waiting since I finished San Andreas the first time (what was exactly a week after the release...)

so, there's PLENTY of new reviews on the web.

    Gametrailers gives it 9.8

    CVG 9.5

    Games Radar 10

    Eurogamer 10

    TeamXbox 10

    1up 10

(of a maximum 10 each time)

kotaku has a review aswell, but without no points.

therefore, a good bunch of stuff to read in a hated/loved manner (pro and contra if you want)

they said they had 65.67% after 35 hours and 94 missions (now, 35 hours sounds good. but I guess they rushed it for the time pressure such magazines have)

in addition, IGN has a video review and gamespot uk has 6 (real, but) short videos of ingame action

as for the PC gamers among us, a painfull time starts.

a games website called whatifgames.com claims to know that there wont be a PC release anytime.

but this has 2 flaws... first of, this site doesn't look like a trustworthy site

and second, they quote an R* representative, but without giving names.

I doubt this is news to be trusted, R* usually doesn't work without introducing themeselves, nor I think that such a site gets such important news first hand while all the official magazines and major fansites R* happily works with don't know nothing.

ohh, I just recall that the R* representatives some fansite webmasters met around april 21st in NYC (they where invited for an exclusive hands on) answered the PC version questions with "no comment"... what sounds like a just keep on waiting to me.

anybody completed the " warm coffee" encounter yet.

if so...  take that Hillary Clinton...  and lawyers how sued over the last game    4.gif

Wow, some people must have really wanted this game. A man was stabbed whilst waiting to receive his copy of GTA IV in Croydon and a teenager was violently mugged for the game in Manchester. Click here for the full story.

This game is so amazing. I work overnights at Target, so I got one as soon as I got off at 8:30am. From playing it so far, it seems so so incredible. I've only done a few missions, but so many little details have gone into this. When walking or running, Niko leans into his turn. When the cars turn, the momentum makes the car lean. I haven't seen the same pedestrian twice yet. Everything in this area of the city is gritty and dirty. The voice acting is flawless, and the facial expressions that go along with them are superb. I think this game might ruin me...although I wish I could go sell my copy to someone that didn't get one...GTA scalping?

My god, my car was being shot at, and it left bullet holes...they shot out the tire and I drove on it for a few blocks before it blew off completely and the rim was scraping the street. When the chase was over there were realistic bullet holes and paint scrapes on the car...this is insane, and I'm still only doing the early BS missions

You know, this game is JUST amazing, it's so incredibly detailed, the subway and El-trains for instance are very well detailed, even with those computer generated voices announcing stuff.

You can even feel that some cars are aged, their brakes are really sluggish sometimes, they squeek and they often have some odd quirks when changing gears. Even by just playing for an hour i have found lots to admire here!6.gif

No doubt, Glenni. I noticed that with the cars too. The brakes and the steering are sluggish in old cars. I finally got to use a gun, and was amazed at the sounds! The first person I shot was in the middle of a street, and the sound echoed so realistically it's hard to describe. I then had a shootout inside, and it was muffled by the walls and didn't echo at all.

I've also noticed about three different kinds of police car, and not like in SA, where the three cities had different cars.  There are different police cars and taxi cabs all in the same streets.  You also can't walk through car doors like in SA, which is another of the insignificantly tiny details, but it makes such a difference.

Right now this all feels so expansive, it's hard to comprehend.  I've barely started dating, watched one show on TV, listened to just a couple radio stations, bowled, and explored maybe half of the Broker/Dukes island.  I think I'm still in shock

Edit:  Sorry I'm posting so much, but I'm way too excited for this.  The new Patriot is awesome!  It's an H2 Hummer...and when it's raining, people were covering their heads with newspapers and walking faster.  It's going to be interesting to see whether or not there's anything they didn't think of

Me and some of my friends spent about 10 Euros (each) on transport( Public transport is very expensive in Denmark) and when we finally get to an Ebgames shop, they say that we have to preorder it. We then try another game shop, all copy's sold. Then we try a third, all sold, then the last one, where we are told that we aren't old enough. We then went to the cinema, an watched Meet The Spartans, man that's a boring video!

Overall, it was a very bad day for me 15.gif

I saw an article comparing GTA to SImCity, the person talked about how GTAIV was very realistic, like San Andreas was. Here are the parts of the artilce that had the main comparison:

While playing GTA: San Andreas I often found myself getting utterly lost, unable to find the rendezvous for the armed shootout with a rival gang. But it doesn't matter when the depth and realism is this astonishing.

In this way, GTA is like a made-for-adults version of Sim City, a game often touted as "educational". In that game, players can enjoy creating a perfectly ordered miniature town, or, in a different mood, destroying it with a vast volcano. Interestingly, doing the latter doesn't seem to turn people into arsonists.

    GTA SA is awesome.

Now I'm looking to buy a PS 3 and GTA 4 but don't want to spend a ton a cash on television for just playing games.

So what do you suggest and can a monitor be used instead of some fancy overpriced television?.Thanx

I've been playing this game all day, and the issue with my XBOX was a simple missconnection error that was easily fixed. The graphics, the chases, the details, you just can't get over them. I've put my homework on hold today to play it, now at almost 10 pm I'm starting on them 3.gif

I don't care if I'm a minor, I want it. But first I need a PS3. I saw some pics of GTA 4 and all I have to say is wow. I've never seen anything so realistic.
