I think their just for causing havoc in the multiplayer... they make for good covering positions and you can usually kill people by running them over with one 3.gif

Well, I just got my copy of it, and I love this game.

Granted, the Missions are a bit repetitive, but the storyline makes up for it.

And I honestly think this game has some of the best political humor in it.

BUT, I don't think Lazlo's show is as funny as it could be.

Oh yes, and they've worn the whole "69" Joke down to a bloody stump.

Awesome game, my copy just got scratched to hell by my stupid xbox... so ive got a new cheap disc on the way to replace it.

Only one thing is missing from this game which they could actually add in later i guess:

THE TANK! I miss rampaging with a tank, the GTA 1 tank was so much fun although running over cars killed the thing, the GTA 2 tank was close to invincible unless the army came with rockets, the rhino in GTA 3/vice city was invincible unless it got tipped over, that tank was awesome, the san andreas one was a reskinned rhino basically, great fun too. But theres no tank in GTA IV 15.gif I hope the downloadable content features a tank.

I doubt there'll ever be a tank in GTA4 cuz there's no army, so why tanks?

anyways, the GC in Leipzig showed off some of the PC version of GTA, showing some of the new features:

    - 30sec replay editor (you can always watch the last 30 seconds of your gameplay, you don't have to activate it first) with several filters and multiple camera angles and even an editor to make a movie out of several 30sec clips, which you can share on the Social club

    - you can play it with the 360 controller

    - smoother animations and better lighting

    - more mulitplayer possiblilities and more than just 16 players

well, since its out on the PC, i was hoping to get it. I'm not an expert on computers, but I know my system specs don't meet the minimum level. Could anyone tell me if it could somehow work anyways? (possibly low settings, disabling certain options etc.)

    Intel Pentium 4 2.80 GHz

    512 MB RAM

    Radeon 9600 series (I think that's right)

    thanks for any advice 4.gif

There is no way at all you will be able to run the game (it is not your fault however). the minimum requirements are a joke, if you meet them you will probably have to run the game at 800x600. This game is so poorly optimised it's unbelievable. There is a strict graphics limit based on the amount of video ram you have. The more video ram you have the higher the resolution, however people with great setups (They can run crysis, far cry 2 on the highest settings with 60fps) have been getting crap framerates. It seems you need at least a quad core to run the game, because it is so cpu dependent. Basically rockstar spent $200,000 on draconian DRM that has been cracked and couldn't be arsed to optimise the game at all.

thanks for the help! I kinda worried that that would be the case. I bet it would be cheaper just to buy a console instead of having to keep updating my computer to meet the requirements.

as for your framrate thing barbarossa, it sounds to me like the framerate optimizing thingy they used on the consoles to keep it at a constant 30fps (which actually works pretty good, only happened once that it lagged for about 5 frames or an equally irrelevant time when I played)

anyways, for the first time ever i'm kinda jealous not having a 360. all the videos (inlcuding the latest video introducing all the gangs in a weasel news coverage (that actually stole a song from another game I guess, at least I heard nowhere else before) which once more is pretty awesome) really get me in the mood.

but I think it's bad enough to fill gates' purse to make sure all pc games work the way they should, I guess I can live without the lost and damned...

and then again, couple buddies have one so I can play it there...

as for the pc version, I don't know if I'll get. my new pc is about the specs of barbarossa's and reading that this still doesn't make it run perfectly makes me doubt the investment in the pc version. Think I wait till it's down in price, after all, I got the PS3 version since day one so...

ohhh speaking of controversy, there's a lost and damned cutscene popped up on the web that actually pushes the controversy of GTA once more a level higher. In this cutscene, you can see naked male, fully detailed and without any censoring.

surely nothing new, I guess we've all seen daddy running naked from the bathroom to the closet to put on some undies, not to mention plenty naked flesh on the screen, but in a game I can't recall ever seen someone naked from head to toe without censoring

anyways, I can imagine seing some negative press in the next couple of weeks concerning this particular scene

Yeah, I got TLAD a few days ago, completed the story in 6 hours and got disapointed with the lack of extra content. Also, the fact the DLC doesn't add anything to vanilla GTAIV kind of annoyed me. I'm starting to doubt any other GTA DLC will be worth getting.

sooo long time no see but therefore news:

    1) the next episode of the DLC content, "Blood and Four Leave Clover" is in the making, R* updated their twitter page to release more info soon

    and

    2) something for the ps3 owners to cheer: TLAD comes to the PS-Store within the next couple of months. Why? Because the Xbox-exclusive thing is not exactly exclusive, but only a 6 months head start for GTA DLC on MS' console, as PSW Magazine reported lately.

Looks like the anti-rumor-association was quite at work again!

now the name of the 2nd DLC episode was officially announced and it is, you might guess it already, NOT "Blood and Four Leave Clover".

The correct name is "The Ballad of Gay Tony" and of course comes to Xbox Live.

You step into the role of Luis Lopez, part criminal, part assistant to Gay Tony (we know him, the big nighclub owner shown in some in-game tv shows) and this episode is said to "inject Liberty City with an overdose of guns, glitz, and grime." and to "focus on high-end night life contrasts with the biker gangs portrayed in The Lost and Damned, whilst giving us a lot of new gameplay possibilities."

surprising new (and confirmed) fact is that, for 40 bucks, both The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony come together on one disc under the name of "Grand Theft Auto: Episodes of Liberty City" to the game stores near you to hook you up with, NOT requiering vanilla GTA4 to play.

so, let's see whats next. Looking forward to a trailer!

I love the swing set glitch and dog fighting in helis... People usually lose and I win!17.gif The assult shot gun in TLAD is awesome, it will take down Enforcers pretty fast! 29.gif For anyone who wants to be my friend, my gamertag is TinyTerror4 -- it is case sensitive.

So, fellow fans of the game that makes us all super-perfect criminals, after a felt decade of nothing new to tell, today was the day every ps3 owner was waiting for (and many, like me, predicted months ago):

Rockstar Propaganda lets us know: Episodes from Liberty City are officially announced to be released on PS3 this spring. more precisely: March 30th

After some Rockstar guys already said in an interview that they will be "very good... in 2010" to us PS3 gamers, they now announced above wonderful news!
