The exclusive content doesn't bother me in the slightest... the game itself will no doubt keep us all occupied for months!

It starts bothering you around christmas 2010, when you're finally through the main content as the 2nd person worldwide... after me ^^

I may be forced to get a 360 after all simply down to budget issues 15.gif

PS3 looks like it'll have to wait... at least I can still play IV though

Ah yes... I guess you'll just be left out of the awesomeness conversation when we all get it first 3.gif

I hate consoles too though, I hate the fact I need to BUY a console just to play it first... Microsoft own the rights why can't they publish it on PC at the same time??!!! Gits...

Then again... does it take long to port games to PC?

It can take anywhere from one month to several years to port a game....And the port usally turns out to be a piece of crap...

But I fail to see how they can ruin this!

If I compare San Andreas' PC version with the PS2 version, I must say that the PC version is about... a trillion times better when it comes to visual content. It looks much more vivid on the PC cuz of more flowers, more trees, more people, more everything...

Plus the easier customization of it.

San Andrea's? You mean GTAIV right? Because San Andrea's was probably my least favourite out of the last Trilogy.

Just bug your parent... beg them so much that they'll want to give in...

Go to your friend's house that has the game. That's kind of cheesey that they won't let you play it. I'm going to ask my parents to preorder the game for my birthday, or I'll ask my brother to buy it.

They seriously need to get some decent screenshots. Sometimes the graphics look really sub par.

I just heard that 360 prices are dropping this month! What awesome timing 9.gif

'Rumours of a price cut for the Xbox 360 appear to be founded, with reports suggesting a 50 euro (£38) reduction. This would take the basic - no hard drive - arcade 360 down to around £150, £30 cheaper than the Wii. Microsoft is not commenting but reports suggest the price drop could happen as soon as next week.'

    Short input:

official GTA4 artwork can be found on buildings all over NYC (just like the big advertisment drawn to a house, only much smaller, but nevertheless official as in Rockstar even provides pictures of it.)

the GTA4 equivalent to Yahoo will be EyeFind.info

It's not official yet but 2 things lead to this conclusion:

the site is registered with the same network sollution page as all other GTA teaser sites

the add can be seen at the GTA equvialent of the Time Square's NYPD office box, where in real life is an Yahoo add

Borrowing is how I got my hands on LCS, and that "borrowing" has gone on for about 2 years!
I think my friend kinda forgot he owns that game....

    lol

I still have a GTA:VC flying around among my ps2 games which I actually never bought, so I must have borrowed it from someone, but please don't ask me whose game it is...

So, for those who love cars, who love driving around and who love driving around their beloved cars in GTA:

    - You can determine a cars age from the weathering... dirt, cracks, dents, bulletholes, whatever... and it all stays on the cars (finally)

    - Further, the paint on a car changes with the time from blingbling shiny when it's a brandnew showroom car to old and pale after a few years of LC streets and weather

But now to why I do this (re)post: MULTIPLAYER-Mode

    what does it offer?

According to PSM Spain, we have a total of 15(!) game modes, with promising names like:

hangman's noose, race, gta race, car jack city, mafia work, team mafia work, turf war, deal breaker and (brace for impact) deathmatch and team deathmatch.

further, multiplayer mode will support 16 players, fully customizable character (clothes, sex, hair, race, accessoires,...) and the whole singleplayer map will be included, but no details on limitations for certain gameplay types.

sounds cool so far, doesn't it?

EDIT: also freshly announced is the highly anticipated 4th trailer "Everyone's a Rat", online march 27th.

I hope the multiplayer isn't like an SAMP/MTA kind of thing without NPC Peds, cars etc... thats what GTA needs to take it to the next level, some serious MP action with NPC's and police all left in for you to kill and maim them or eachother at your leisure. Honestly, if GTAIV delivers some fantastic Multiplayer it will probably increase the playability 100 fold... I for one would never tire of it.

I doubt they can change anything major at this stage... they'll simply be tweaking and checking for bugs. It'll be going Gold in like a fortnight 47.gif

yea, I don't see no reason to talk about changes now, with a mere 4 weeks to the release date.

there's plenty of discussion on it on the previous pages, with loads of information, especially on what's new in the upcomming gta title.

feel free to read it ;-)

sooo, the day of the new gta homepage update is passed, so here's the usual conclusion of mine:

    - 2 new radiostations are introduced to the site(one of which we're happy to see): K109 The Studio and WKTT Talk Radio; both with audio-teaser content

    - a mindblowing(!) set of new screenshots

    - new wallpapers to download

    - a "rockstar reccommends" section giving ideas to which music-events to visit in nyc

further, I got word for the us gamers:

GTA4 was rated M by the esrb for: partial nudity, strong language, strong sexual content, use of drugs and alcohol, blood, intense violence

It's obvious that the esrb took quite a long time to rate the game, if I think about rating announcements of other games, compared to the 4 weeks ahead of release in this case at hand.

Not few think they took so long to make it a sureshot rating to save themselves and the publishers a fiasco as seen with the hot coffee mod for san andreas in 2005

me, personally, I'm impressed by the awesome new screenshots, showing of the effects part of the graphics engine.

one shot shows a huge explosion. wow. simply wow. like a fuel tanker blowing up or something, at least the scene looks like something highly flameable blows up.

another shot shows the time square equivalent in a heavy rain. worth noting is the lighting in the scene, it really delivers the feeling of a heavy rain. plus there's a lot of cars but a no pedestrians (as you expect in a heavy rain), puddles of water are visible on the streets. A taxi sports small stickers on it's trunk (like bumper sticker), yet another detail well-captured for the game

next screenshot shows a chasing scene on water, the lighting asumes to be of a morning when the sky is blue already but the few clouds still sport a reddish, orange tone. there's a lot of splash and waves in this scene, screwing up the water's reflections of the surrounding landscape as 3 dingies

    ^that shot looks insane!

fern, was that a joke post or are you for real? when i was your age i had over 50 feedback on ebay, so i find it hard to believe you cant get access to online purchasing.

But wait a minute.. for an M rated game I think you actually only have to be 17.. not 18, so you may be in luck! Atleast in the US anyway.

Anyway, am I the only one that finds GTA IV's release date outrageously convenient? As in I get my tax return just in time for me to get a PS3 and GTA IV 44.gif I was planning to wait it out for PC but figured id cave, considering everyone will be talking about it, especially since its based on my city!

This game is starting to take a negative effect on me. I just picked up an Xbox on promotion and the other day I went to buy some games for it but compared everything to gta, sad to say I came back only with assassins creed and got bored with that game real quick.I really hope it takes me a year to finish gta.

Holy Crap! I'm totally getting this game. However my brother is fixing the Xbox 360 after it's little red ring of death incident (damn ventilation system) so it should be fixed by then... SWEET!

The new Liberty City looks awesomely awesome, I still wonder if Francis Int'l Airport will be included like on the older version.
