and sea is a little world.

It is a little world, lost and forgotten in place and time. Don’t look for it too hard on the map, you will not find it - at least, not yet.

Barsheer14.jpg

It is a world where there has been a delicate uninterrupted balance between humanity and nature for thousands of years.

A peaceful town populated by a peaceful peoples lies within this peaceful village.

It is a town without hate, without villainy, without greed, without care, without hardship, and without evil.

     Some would call it paradise.

     Some would call it home.

     Some would call it doomed.

BTW, if the pictures do not show up (or, there are about a billion similar topics) please let me know. Had a slight problem.

Anyways, thanks much for looking in, folks - it is very appreciated.

And, as always, comments, critiques and questions are not only welcome, but encouraged and appreciated.

Take Care

!!!!!!!OMG!!!!!!! This can't be real!! OMG!! Those shots are impressive! I am amazed! And you are Mr. Cinanit, wow! I saw some of your work and I'm amazed!

Sorry for my English, sir, I'm Spanish!

And I saw some elevated water! Hmm, that catched me! What did you used? Ploppable water? Rain tool?

Ah, I like your style, lonely mountains, incredible coast, beautiful!

Not as my CJ, it is more urban, and Canadian feeling!

Great work!

Cristian

Wonderful stuff. Reminds me of being a kid and digging in my grandmother's flower beds - I'd make little mountains, rivers, and roads. I especially like the terraced areas, great imagination.

Truly spectacular! I really love the ground textures and colors. The cliffs are so life like. The forest look like mother nature waved a magic wand. Looks so peaceful. I wonder how you have water inside the crater in pic number 8. I assume it's plopped.

I have always loved your terraforming and it never ceases to amaze me...I seem to remember most of these wonderful pictures from your "Adventures in Terraforming". 1.gif

Only the beauty of true nature can compare to your fantastic skills. If I were as talented as you I'd actually make my regions by hand...5.gif

I had heard before that your other long-running CJ was awesome, but I've never went through it due to the amount of time it would take to do so (time that I don't have on my hands); therefore, I come to the CJ forum and see this new CJ created today, and I see your member name as the author, and I think, "Well, this oughta be good!" So I mosey on in here and check it out, and it turns out that it is quite good so far. I would lighten up some on the photoshop (talking mainly about the last three pics), but that's my only complaint. I like the little town in the valley (from what I can make out anyway), and the opening of the story was short, sweet, and to the point, as well as powerful. I look forward to more if I don't get caught up too bad in RL.

Goodness me, Mr.C. Another one?

I hate to say this, but you might have to raise the bar further. I know you can raise it even further than you already have. 3.gif

Now... I wait.

The rooster called as the sun broke over the ridges of the valley, throwing light across the land.

    paradise2kn9.jpg

Garise woke at the sound, rolled over in bed, and smiled to himself. A gentle breeze blew open his curtains, bringing a sunbeam in with it.

    paradise86ih2.jpg

He stretched, dressed, and looked out the window. Nearby outside, the morning feast was being prepared. The aroma of sweetbread filled the air. It made his stomach growl.

    paradise17li5.jpg

An hour later, he took up his seat at one of the great tables outside. Nearby, tomatoes ripened on the vine, furthering his hunger. He sat next to his great friend, Bistrum.

    paradise87oa1.jpg

“Another fine day,” Bistrum said with a smile.

Garis smiled and nodded. He looked to the ground. “Shouldn’t we be wearing shoes at the breakfast table,” he said with a chuckle.

Bistrom chuckled back, and took a bite of an apple. “The morning dew feels good on my toes,” he said. “Last night’s shower was a healthy one.”

“Not too healthy, I hope,” Garis returned. “The wheat is almost ready for harvest. It needs to dry.”

“Have our stars ever let us down?” Bistrom asked.

Garis let out a small sigh, one he hoped only he could detect. “I guess they cannot, no.”

Okay...I honestly did not expect this kind of response. Wow...thank you, all. It is appreciated.

natuurzoon - Thanks very much - for those who have not seen it, this region is from my Adventures in Terraforming journal - I had been long trying to think of the perfect project for that region. Hopefully, this will work. And I do hope to give you all closer looks at all of those areas on this region...of course, it will take quite a while.

jacqulina - Thank you very much, Jackie - your kind words are always of great encouragement. I actually really have not stopped playing the game - I have taken a couple of weeks off here and there, but it has been a while since I have totally put aside the game. This is simply something I have been working on for quite a while, and putting the final touches on. I have also been working on yet another CJ project, which has also taken up a lot of work. Hopefully, that will also some day see the light of day (that one is kind of a "dream" project of mine).

asturianu - First off, your English is quite good - much better than many of us who have been speaking the language our whole lives 9.gif. I used the rain tool for the surface water-  though I have noticed in one of my shots, there is only half a lake...oops. For some reason, I seem to have more success with the rain tool.

MrVegetable - Hey...I think I live above you! You just knocked over my lamp 3.gif - and thanks for dropping by.

frogface - Ah, but if only I had your city building skills. Your sprawling cities are something I have always tried to make, but have never succeeded.

Voulpiotis - Indeed, Barsheer is hand-terraformed. I began working on the region about two years ago, and really still have not completely finished it (some unfinished touches might be barely visible in the mountain shots...though the mountains do not have the variety of trees I want as of yet).

Nardo69 - Thanks very much, Bernard - of course, time will tell if this succeeds or not (though I do already have six updates after this already posted in a private forum...so at least I should get that far lol).

homeandaway - I am actually still debating on if there will be any urban areas. I have a couple of very small villages we will be seeing shorty, but that is my development so far. There will also be other small areas of development here and there - so most likely the urban areas will simply be very small communities on the shores, in the deserts and in the mountains (plus, I don't think there is enough physical room to make a sprawling metropolis)

mayormommy - hehe - I thought I was the only one who did that kind of stuff. Little did I know, I was simply preparing to do the same, but with a game.

hamsterTK - Thanks much - this is hand terraformed. I actually started on this quite a while before there was such a thing as a regional terraformer - and I have grown so attached to creating my lands by hand, I have yet to play with wouanagaine's wonderful tool.

Gnargenox - thanks very much - there is something I should say about the color...I have enhanced the colors via IrfanView - and I do have my reasons. Hopefully, they will become more apparent as the story progresses. And the water inside the volcanic crater is from the rain tool.

wagusmaximus - lol,  you said it - I do have a lot of time on my hands, but I enjoy this a lot (I love terraforming more than I do city-building).

Jerebannus XVI - Thanks very much - it is appreciated 4.gif

Dark_Jedi06 - You are correct in that this region is from Adventures. These are actually newer pictures, but quite frankly, regional pictures begin to look the same when a particular area of the region has not changed...so I actually could have gone ahead and used older pictures (if I knew what disk I put them on lol).

zelgadis - Yep, this is all hand-terraformed - and all of it is from one single region (I wish I could get a region shot, but RegionCensus has never been able to get a shot of it - the region is simply too big...I even ran it for an entire night, with no result).

cityhawk - Great eye on the photoshopping 9.gif...I will admit, it is rather over the top, and will remain so for the next few updates. However, it is for a reason, and eventually the photos will become "normal". I will just say the present shots of the region are sort of presented in a "Dream-like, color splashed" motif to give the area a look that appears to almost be too good to be true.

doodlea21 - Thanks very much...you know, that is a pretty good idea, actually. Hm.

1dera3 - Oh, how I wish I could share this map - but at 645 Megabytes, I believe Dirk would literally come to my house and kill me if I tried to post it (that size is without all of the plugins...I have 31 different folders created for different city tiles in this region.

Narya - Thanks very much - as for how I did the terraforming...well, just lots and lots of work, and lots and lots of trial and error (that volcano in the desert alone went through many, many changes). Oh, yeah...and I look through GoogleEarth a lot. A lot!

GreekMan - Thanks very kindly, GM 4.gif

Schulmanator - Ah, yes, there is a ton of different terrain to work with...already, ideas of what to do with them are bouncing around my head. This should be a lot of fun.

football_fever - I have mainly used the CycleDogg terrain mod - I will get to the specific mods when I answer Voulpiotis' post down a bit.

The boy formerly known as Evil Muzz - Neither did I...but our wonderful modders have kept on creating them, and I keep on using them.

Shadow_Assassin - Uh oh...the pressure is on! 3.gif You should see the "great ideas for a city journal" that have never surfaced, or that I have been forced to abandon.........

Shanna - thanks very much. Hopefully, I will not keep everyone waiting too much...though I cannot promise I will be able to update every day (though the short story updates seem to be working for me so far).

Voulpiotis - hehe...okay, I will try to tell what was used where....Pic 1&2) the Cycledogg Columbus terrain (with jeronij snowcap mod) and rock texture with emerald brown surface water. Pic 3-6) Here, I used Teirusu's Desert Mod (where I also grabbed the rain tool). I realize it is an old mod...but it was my favorite desert terrain mod available at the time. IrfanView helped bring out the color. Pic 9-10) basically, the same mods used in pics 1 and 2. As you can see, I used a variety of trees (Both cycledogg and ingame trees) in each of the cities. The rock is again the Cycledogg Columbus rock. Last two pics) again, CycleDogg, this time his PaintedDesert terrain. Because of the higher elevations, the Desert is not obvious in most of those pictures, but you can see it a bit better in these and future pictures. Hope this helps.

banamoat - thank you much...and yes, I like the mountains a lot, too. I am always surprised at how my mountains end up, especially considering how rough they look when I start out. Amazing what a bit of work, a lot of persistence, and a ton of trees can do.

Thanks much for looking in, folks. It is appreciated.

And as always, comments, critiques and questions are not only welcome, but encouraged and appreciated.

    Take care.
