Hey everyone, just a little update here:

Here is a brand new multi-RHW (RHW-8) to RHW-10 transition.  It is in the works and some pathing needs to be done.  A big thanks to Lollothebest for the image!

EDIT: By the way, warrior and DFire870: the RHW-8 has been canceled and the RHW-10 has taken its place.  The Multi RHW is the only current (and probially will always be) way to create a RHW-8!

Actually, haljackey, you're wrong.2.gif  qurlix canceled the RHW-8, but I've brought it back.  The RHW-10 will still be made as well.  There's two versions of the RHW-8 that will be available, the normal RHW-8, and the RHW-8C (C=Compact).

Here's the RHW-8C (a 3-tile non-separable setup--and before anyone pesters me about putting a barrier in the middle, I'm working on it already.)

    rhw805272007dj4.jpg

And the standard RHW-8 (separable and 4 tiles total, for both sides).  Here it's used alongside the RHW-6, technically creating an RHW-7.

can we actually make the rural highways bigger than two lanes going eachway right now?

Shadow_Assassin: Yes it is! I will post a pictrure of it when I get a chance.

Godzillaman: If you follow my giude at the begining of this thread, the answer is YES!

Albatross Domain: The Jan release of the NAM was the previous version. The June release is the currently the most up-to-date version of the NAM.

Yes it is.  If you are using the May/June 07 NAM, you need to download the latest version of the RHW so its compatible with the files.  Also, you have to install the ANT network when you install the NAM. A to the file is in my signature.  Please forgive my late reply34.gif!

should the rural highway, when dragged, not show up? but when i drag again on the side of it, it then shows up, and the

RHW is made. Plus it takes forever to wait for it to finish deciding that i just did something. Is this normal?

Hmmm.... not too sure.  You should just see a regular-looking road (actually the ANT) if the RHW is not drawn together, or the RHW-2 if you have that texture installed.  I would check your plugins, and where your RHW file is in your NAM file to make sure everything works as it should.

for a better response from the RHW veterans, I suggest posting here: (RHW Errors)

The newest release is on one of the front pages of the STEX, I recommend downloading the June (called May) 07 NAM from the Modds and Downloads section as well.

Sorry if this is redundant (I'm lacking sleep):

When will this addition/version of RHW with multiple lanes be available?

Here are a couple more pictures showing the great flexibility of the Multi-RHW.  The network can be split and can have different starting/ending points.  Examples follow.

Here we see the Multi-RHW at this terminus, where different lengths of RHW can be used for creativeness.

Here is a great example showing how you can split your Multi-RHW network

And here is the split zoomed in

Any questions/comments on the Multi-RHW welcome.

Talking about renaming rhws, here are some suggestions:

    DHW--different hiway

    NMHW--non-maxis highway

    STHW--simtropolis highway

    NHW-new hiway

HWv3--Highway version 3 (version 1 was elevated highway in SC2K, then ground highway in RH)

    nerdly_dood: How about RHW--Real HighWay

    Or

    RHW--Realistic HighWay

That way people who know it as "RHW" wont be too confused 2.gif

nerdly_dood:  The name RHW will always stick.  However, it doesn't have to be referred to as a Rural Highway as JCarter stated..

For oneway/RHW connections> Drag the RHW up to the edge of the oneway road, then with the oneway road tool, click on the nearest tile next to the RHW.  A workong connection will be established.  This is a new error for the new RHW patch (0.13B) Before, all you had to do was drag the two networks together.

While I am here I may as well show another picture of the Multi-RHW in a interchange with another highway:

Click on it for FULL resolution!

Hey haljackey, I have a question for you. Will traffic flow across city borders via RHW? I can only seem to get it to work by converting the traffic to maxis highway for the border then back again.
