yth37: There are all kinds of examples of on/off ramps and interchanges throughout this thread. Just go back through the pages to take a look at them. I may be posting images soon regarding the multi-RHW.

For getting other networks to cross over the RHW, you need to use the road over RHW puzzle piece in the road overpass icon from the NAM. Press TAB a few times until you find the right piece. Eventually, the overpasses will be automatic for the RHW like the standard highway is now.

Crissa: For now, one way roads or the RHW itself works well for interchanges.

Maybe someone can help me here. It is quite possible that I am idiot, but I cannot get the RHW mod to allow me to make a 4 tile collector system as demonstrated in the first post of this thread. I tried to follow the directions exactly, but to no avail. What happens is that when I get to step 6 and try to extend the inner lanes past the outer lanes, the inner lanes flip and become two parallel and separate networks. I suspect this is a quick fix, so can anyone help me out?

    Thanks!

ViperX883: Making the Multi-RHW is quite difficult. I discovered it accidentally when playing with the RHW network. The guide on the first post of this thread is merely that, a guide to help you create the Multi-RHW.

The biggest thing that I can see that you have done wrong is that you need to extend your OUTER lanes past the INNER lanes, not the INNER past the OUTER. If you extend the inner lanes instead of the outer, you will end up with 2 4-lane RHW networks rather than 1 8-lane Multi-RHW.

I would suggest you keep playing with the network, and use trial and error to figure out how it acts. There have been several releases of the RHW network since my guide, but the concept still remains the same for making the Multi-RHW. Just be patient, and experiment with the RHW network.

If you are still having problems with the network, feel free to post here again. It may help us if you could post a picture as well so we can see what is going on with your highway.

I wish you best of luck, making the Multi-RHW is not the easiest thing to do, believe me!

Thanks haljackey. I Figured out that I needed to extend the outer lanes past the inner lanes earlier today, but I thought I might have still been doing something incorrectly. After your post, though, I think maybe I have everything right. It seems simple enough... I guess the only downside is that you have to know exactly how long your inner lanes will be and then you cannot extend them. I might be wrong about that, but that is where I am getting stuck. Thanks for all the help!

Ya, no problem! This thing can be a tad tricky, but once you know how to do it, its like riding a bike! (you never forget!).

Just one word of advice, don't redraw your inner RHW network or even click it with the RHW tool or it will turn back into two separate networks, causing you to remake the entire network all over again! Anyways best of luck and I hope it all works out well for you!

Hey everyone, just a quick little update here...

In the next version of the RHW network, the MIS system will allow you to create ramps for the Multi-RHW.  The network will also be much easier to create as well, just take a look at the photos below.

A BIG thank-you to Tarkus for providing this information and these images!

    1) An RHW-4 override is initiated through the standard side-by-side method:

    cdlane1hv0.jpg

    cdlane2la6.jpg

    2) The new RHW puzzle pieces button, under the highway menu

    cdlane3eo2.jpg

    3) The MIS ramp next to the side-by-side produced RHW-4

    cdlane4ij0.jpg

    4) A couple of shots illustrating the RHW-4 puzzle drag stub working.  Note the lines on the RHWs.  They're facing the proper way for a Multi-RHW network.  The puzzle drag and side-by-side RHW-4s never even try to override one another.

    cdlane5hh3.jpg

    cdlane6ms1.jpg

And there you go, a new way to make the Multi-RHW

Anyways, I hope you found this informative.  When the new version of the RHW is released, my guide will be obsolete!  I will have to write a new one when I can figure how to do the new method for myself.

    -Best,

    Haljackey,

And a big thank-you to you, for keeping the folks updated! 4.gif Documenting the development process is somewhat time-consuming, and I'm sure everyone agrees with me that this time could be used better for developing new stuff. 2.gif

warrior: you bet!  I can't wait for it either!2.gif

Andreas Roth:  Thanks!  I will do my best to keep everyone updated so you can "keep on truckin" with your mods!  1.gif

Anyways, I was digging up some old LOT/BAT documents from my computer and I found this:

I hope you like this idea!

    newyorkcitymar1wd6.jpg

A median and sound wall for the Multi-RHW.  Lights are also included.  Back when I first posted this guide, Frankie_grove posted this right after, but it vanished a LONG time ago.  Luckily I keep a spare.  Just look at the old RHW texture to see how old it actually is!

    Best,

    -Haljackey

djlee1999: I donno. I only found the pictures, not the files yet. Maybe Frankie_grove still has them, I donno.

Anyways, because of that I can't give you a release date, Sorry!

    EDIT:

Hey, guess what?  This page has over 10,000 views!  Thank you so much!  I hope you found my guide informative and useful!

wow this looks amazing!! Will you include a black asphalt version as well? I prefer the uniformity and it looks nice when blended with the standard roads and one ways.

dogma555: You can already! Just download the Darker RHW texture here!

nihonkaranws: You mean 4 lanes? Just follow my guide at the start of this thread. 5 lanes are not possible... yet 2.gif

Anyways I hope I answered your questions!

    Best,

Congratualtions Haljackey, on the 10,000 views, here's to another 10,000, I certainly did find your guide informative and useful, and I'm pretty sure the other couple of thousand people did as well.

    Hey skyjuice. Its a surprise!

Well, actually, there is no release date. This is so because these members devote their own personal time to work on it when they get some free time. Because of this, they always say "it'll be released when its released!"

Just have patience, and I think you will be pleasantly surprised!

Where do you find the super long of and on ramps and can you connect RHW to the regular highways straight up?

chrisnhl50: These "super" long ramps have not been released yet. They will be included with the next version of the RHW network. For now, I find that one-way roads are the best way to construct on/off ramps for the RHW.

For more information on the development of these on/off ramps, called the MIS (modular interchange system), check out the link to the RHW project @ SC4D in my signature.

Alrite, I think that i figured out how to do this but as soon as I add one way connections they turn into two parralel networks. What kind of connections should I use then?

Adding one-ways is a tricky ideal.  It is quite difficult to explain without actually showing you in-game, namely because I still need the game up set up a connection through trial and error.  unfortunately, the Multi-RHW is a VERY inflexable network (as it is with the current version of the RHW network), and thus is difficult to use.  I haven't even tried diagonal networks myself because it is just that difficult to set up.

Anyways, referring back to your question, using one-way/ave connections would be good.  The problem for me is that these "connections" can not actually touch the Multi-RHW network itself because if it comes into contact, the network will reset itself to two separate, but parallel networks.  I find it is best to "split" the Multi-RHW away from itself, add a connection, and then put the network back together.  I have had little success doing otherwise, but with that said, if you are careful, you can connect a one-way road to a Multi-RHW correctly with just a little bit of "luck" (but it is mainly skill, unfortunately 5.gif)

The best way I can explain it to you over the net is with some pictures.  As it is said, "a picture says a thousand words", so have a look at my Multi-RHW interchanges.  If you have any questions/comments to make about them (this applies to everyone), feel free to post.

I am able to draw the RHW. I can even make the 45 degree turns. Nobody is using my road. I'm connecting one end to an avenue. I'm then drag east to west with both lanes (4 lanes). That means traffic on both sides should be going west, Right?

Then I did noticed some traffic on the one RHW and it was going in the opposite direction of what I drew. So I placed my route querry on it and I get nothing.

I also noticed that I'm getting these random cars/buses running off the road in grasssy areas where I never put a road.

I have the NAM and all of the downloads installed.

Ya man i have all those same problems, I have been attaching the rhw to one way roads and make sure your drag them the right way so that they are going in the right direction...Also look at the shoulder lane and see wich way it is facing. If you can figure out how to successfully use a multilane rhw PLEASE let me know what you are doing.

JoeExplorer: Check the emergency lane/shoulder of the RHW. If it is on the right, then traffic will be flowing on the right side of the road (right hand drive). If it is on the left, then traffic will be flowing on the left side of the road (left hand drive). I hope this helps clear that up. That may be why traffic is flowing in the opposite direction that you want it to.

chrisnhl50: If you checked my last post, I provided a lot of examples for you to show you how to do this. Please take a look at them, and, if you have any further questions, feel free to ask.
