great cj but why dont you put a swiss city in your europe: bern, zurich, or geneva would be great. i see that you are putting vaduz, leichtenstein, which is only a tiny mountain town in the map, but other than that i love what you are doing so far.

you should put prague in as well

It would be great to see all of those cities. Judging from the size of the map, I'm betting that it would be hard to accomodate. Not only that, but this could literally take forever to complete. The world has been developed for a couple of thousand years. HabLeUrG is attempting to create the world in a matter of weeks!!

I would like to see Blind River Canada. Just Kidding HabLeUrG!! You are doing excellently, and you seem to work way harder than anything I've worked at here!!

I'm Portuguese and I don't see Lisbon like that. of course it would be easier to me, 'cause I live near it 4.gif so I perfectly understand the difficulty of doing this.

heres a few suggestions to make it better:

on the east side put the historical buildings with a plaza facing the river

on the west side beautiful modern offices and a another bridge.

on the suburbs and south side put heavy residential buildings.

industry in the eastern south side.

in the south side next to the bridge you got, put the statue of Christ if you got it. (its just like the one in Rio de Janeiro)

a large soccer stadium would be great. although there are 2 large stadiums in Lisbon 3.gif

keep up the great job! I'm enjoying the concept a lot!

i dont mean all of them but i would be happy to see one, after all geneva and zurich, are (remarkably for their size) major world cities, and if im not mistaken somebody batted bern cathedral, but you are right beskhu3epnm its hard to put a lot into europe because theres so many possibilities and so little space.

Great update. I'm amazed that you've kept this going in the face of "can't you do blank city?" It would have driven me nuts! Anyway, this is inspiring. I hope to see you keep it up.

Cool! I see you are combining Torino, Milan, and Florence. Can't wait to see London, Paris, and the ALPS! Keep up the awesome work! I tried out the map, and i had to delete it as my computer is not very tip top shape. I attempted mini Japan and it basically was Tokyo and Osaka along with small houses to represent the countryside and perhaps Hiroshima. I can't wait for San Francisco and instead of trying Tokyo just try a mini Japan!

You should take a look at some atlases and surf the internet, use Google Earth or something similar if you have it.... You have heavily misplaced St: Petersburg in Estonia, although it's possible you could mix Talinn and St: Petersburg, and no country in whole Europe is arctic mind you, maybe a bit in mountanous areas. You should do a big rewamp of Europe in my opinion because as of now it looks extremely noobish as if it was made by a 10 year old schoolkid. And what about Helsinki and Göteborg? Helsinki (1,3 million inh) is three times as big as Oslo (400000 inh) and much more important.....  Göteborg is Sweden's second biggest city with 800000 inh while Malmö has only 500000.

Yes, the Krio agrees with Samilou. I can understand, that you misplace some small city like Budapest or Vienna in your map, but St. Petersburg in Estonia. "Peter's" population is twice as big than Estonia's whole population. Are you doing Oslo because of Glenni's bats? If so, there is very few Stockholm's landmarks in the STEX, so you could replace Stockholm with Helsinki. And even winter whole Finland and Baltic Countries aren't coverd in snow.

Bad Europe, bad.

wowowowow! looks awesome, i think everyone should stop complaining about the specifics, remember, its pretty hard to place all the real world citys in the correct spots and stuff. Thanks for taking on this challenge looks great so far.

This is the best new idea i have seen on here. I love playing with scale and the idea of covering such a broad spectrum. I also think its cool to bring in a few small places like vaduz and luxembourg to give it a wider scope as well.

I think it would be cool to include the "Bos-Wash" or north east megalopolis as an opportunity to create a place of substantial size with many interesting landmarks and a high population..just like the real world.

You know both Budapest and Vienna is bigger than Detroit, Miami , Seattle, Lisbon, Helsinki and are both at the same size as Stockholm? You can't really claim they are small.

And St: Petersburg's pop is about as big as Finland's pop (5 million) which is a much better comparison (Estonia only has 1,2 million).

Go after Google Earth and some atlases instead so these mistakes don't get repeated, that kind of mistakes ruin the whole CJ in some people's opinion (like me).

I see that some people are criticism HabLeUrG's work, because of misplacing/choosing wrong cities. I understand that people want there countries capital or hometown in this cj (and I'm glad Amsterdam is taking part 3.gif) but why should you say such negative things, like HabLeUrG's work is noobish? I don't think Samilou can do this better. And don't forget that they're all large cities, so it's very difficult to create those different climates. All i can say is that this cj is really looking amazing, and I can't wait for the next update and some more pics.

I'm not saying his work is noobish, i'm saying his work in Europe looks noobish and crappy because of the many inaccuracies. Yes I could do it far better when it comes to Europe as i'm somewhat of an expert on geography (especially in Europe, but not natural geography) and my great interests are history and geography, national economics and similar subjects, i'm playing realistic grand strategy games since several years for around 5-6 hours a day on average, i'm also fascinated by maps, population and cities.... And when I do this kind of project's I usually look at the most accurate maps and sources I can find and go after it. I know exactly what i'm talking about when it comes to these subjects. I also believe many of the inaccuracies may be because of the original creator of the map.

I am not saying your work is horrible as you may not have the same fascination or interest as I have in these subjects or being as fussy with accuracy. you have done a nice job overall and I understand that you have spent many hours on this so don't take me harshly, i'm trying to correct only.

Samilou, Krio,

Just a reminder to you of the scale of may you are dealing with:

The largest map possible in SC4 Terraformer is 64 square kilometres. That size of map requires 2GB of RAM to run properly. The earth is 510,068,130 square kilometres. Hableurg's map is somewhere in the neighborhood of 42 square kilometers.

So basically you are saying something is crappy, when someone is trying to do things on a map that is approximately 0.000012437343430377% (1/85011355 scale) the size of the planet earth? This map is 1/32 the size of Washington state! How do you imagine that it is possible to do everything accurately?

You do your own Mini-Earth, or at least do Mini-Europe. I'll see you in that thread. Make your own map, too.

Krio's STEX uploads: https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?page=1&keyword=Krio&type=all

Samilou, you being "somewhat of an expert"" of geography should maybe check your facts before bashing someone's work. HabLeUrG is trying to make the world on something the size of an island in Fiji. I'm sure Europe will not be up to your "standards" based on this size.

HabLeUrG, I find your work to be marvelous and innovative. I've never seen such a wide spectrum of building styles, terrain styles, and landmarks in one CJ. I could never accomplish it, and I'm not quite sure what makes these other folks able to think they can do it.

beskhu3epnm, still Hable could put St. Petersburg on its right position, because it is one of the biggest cities in Europe. And why you always bring up the scales when they have anything to do with recreation. When he moves St. Petersburg little bit north and east -> next square, maybe combined Moscow and St. Petersburg. You don't complain, because you just happen to be in the same bat group with Hable. But as long North America is good and nicely done, everything is!

And Samilou, if you compare Vienna or Miami to Paris or St. Petersburg, they are small. And I know that fact, that "Peter's" population is bigger than Finland, but because Hable located "Peter" to Estonia, Estonia was better example. If St. Petersburg would have been located in Finland, I would have used my homeland instead of Estonia as population comparision between a city and a nation.

Honestly, people need to stop requesting cities. There are only so many that can be included, and, if he were to include them, theyd just end up being a single building, then yall would compplain about that.

Im telling you right now if you are unhappy with this CJ then LEAVE. Because there are some people who are trying to enjoy this masterpeice of a CJ. I know my geography and history, I mean, Im no expert, I dont even attempt to claim to be, because people who claim they are experts are morons. But I know my history and geography (you have to when youre an archaeologist!) And I really don care is St petersburg is a few centimeters to the west. HONESTLY??? Youre flaming because he put a DOT on the map a little to the left. Thats really pathetic of you people. Im anxious to see your interpretation of Europe mister Expert, and Krio,

Can someone please ban krio? Like hes got nothing positive to say in chat or the forums. I would most love to see a work done by krio, but because of how he treats everyone, it will be the most flamed peice of work on ST.

Anyways, THanks for posting the region shot of europe, its awesome AWESOME to see the cities in the region shots, it looks cool, like one of those maps where all the major cities are drawn in using like one landmark and a skyscraper, then labelled.....

Keep up the great work, You know im one of your biggest fans! And i cant wait to see the emalgamated northern Italy....especially excited for venice!

Also, are you interested in Venice, well look at my CJ my friend!

And yes, i so cant wait for some updates!

Now that I have read everything absolutely brilliant. Its a real pity that everything has to be done at such a tiny scale and that it is difficult. very impresed 9.gif I wonder how africa and the mid east will look.
