I dig it - Texas could be one huge city, with a little of each major city put in its general location. Just don't forget Bush's stupid fence between TX and Mexico.

Wow, great start!

I really love the way you've represented the different geographical regions using  variations in your terrain/trees. I look forward to how you're going to integrate these "mini-cities", as you call them.

I'll be keeping an interested eye on this journal--it's a concept you don't see every day. Keep up the great work!

HabLeUrG, even in its original, unedited state, your region is breathtakingly spectacular. Obviously, you have already put in a ton of work on this project - I will be following this one.

Great work.

That is so true football_fever.  Those of us who make up NHP would never release anything unless it's of the highest quality.

Your last update was fantastic HabLeUrG!  Can't wait to see more.

wow...I knew this was going to be an awesome project. Mini versions are great. You must have downloaded every BAT on the stex for this project. Can't wait to see more...I hope Minneapolis is on the ticket for cities...or will Minnesota be one big lake haha

Edit: eh, on second look...if LA and San Diego are on the same map, Minnesota will probably be part of Chicago...

First decent update and as I thought, collection of American skyscrapers. San Diego is only few towers in your mini-earth. Why didn't you make it larger? Too much nature, SD could have been larger.

Sorry if I say negative things, but this is "consturctive criticism.

Very nice work, considering the scale that you're working from.

You know, maybe you should try something like this, before criticising it? He did a good job. Consider the scale of things - this isn't a 1:1 replica of Earth, it's a simplified version, and a very good one at that, too. Don't forget he probably had a limited amount of choice as to the size of San Diego: he's got to fit in everything else, too. 2.gif

Excellent synopsis, Shadow - and that is exactly what intrigues me and excites me about this city journal.

I remember downloading a world map from the STEX before it was a STEX (in fact, it was all maps) back in the day, and briefly considering a project like this. HabLeUrG, I must salute you big time for taking on this daunting task - the terraforming itself is remarkable, and I really like mini-LA a lot.

    Great job.

If you make Oslo and make it like some stylised wooden town with one main church, you're a dead man3.gif Just kidding allthough, ain't exactly happy for the fact that half of my country is covered in snow26.gif Heheheh, but as you said, it's simplified3.gif

Nice work on SD and LA,   LA looks sorta like Los Santos in GTA San Andreas!17.gif

I presuming that most of this work went into terrain texture changing, judging from the region view... imagine the work that goes into presenting this.. it boggles my mind.

The largest scale map that has ever been made is about 1/32 the size of Washington state. This map is very close to the maximum size achieved at this point, yet it covers the whole planet....

From an execution standpoint, I gotta admit, this is spectacular. I would never even have the patience to switch all the tiles, let alone my plugins folder every time I wanted to open a different region...

And yes, HabLeUrG must have some sort of built in turbocharger. He is a maniac - maps and BATs!!!
