I was working on my region, Wannabe County, today and thought I'd go around to see if any of my old cities existed, and to my surprise, there were a few! I had forgotten all about them, and I don't think I've posted any pics of them here on ST before (except maybe a pic or two; I'm not really sure). I'm sure some of you out there have made cities that you have forgotten all about that are still in your game in another region somewhere, and I thought it would be cool if y'all could dig out some of those pics to showcase to the community.

Here's a few pics from a farming town I made called Alabaster (Note: Starting from the first pic to the last pic showing the highway, each picture is to the west of the one before it):

Click pic for full size version

Here is a picture of an old region - that I once started a CJ on - but then RL interrupted and have not yet got back to it.

Note - that is real Maxis Water - I did region terraforming with the SimCity4 God Mode tools - single stream connects all cities -

used a pre-city -regional- trick to establish neighbor connections (at no cost) prior to actually going into mayor-mode for the first time.

Pre-City connections included - Water Pipes, Power Lines, Elevated-Highways, Monorails, Rails, Roads and Subways.

Pre-planning has hills for rails to tunnel through - where street/road over-passes were desired.

Three city sizes - five city templates - five city purposes planned for - total of 73 cities in the region.

(Farm-x4M, R+Commercial-x9L, Industrial-x12M, Residential-x16S, R+I-Mixed-x32S)

Intended to use the RH-Simolean-mod (to pay for Highways & Avenues in the BIG Cities),

Planned to use BrendaXne's Modern-(Mulit-Transit)-Stations, and lots of Ferry Terminals.

Just recently had my apple cart upset -

I'm trying to decide whether (or not) to restart this old CJ at 505 cities or 1125 cities?

Anyone care to PM me with comments on the CJ version of a city / mayor naming contest?

Awesome Idea, Cityhawk! I've got so many that I don't play, their just to fill void space. I'll be sure to post some up here when my game starts up and I start taking screenshots.

EDIT-

Ah, here... this is a city called Tibette at the foot of some mountains.

NOTE- This city was something I built 2 years ago when I started the region, it is seriously pre-simtropolis, I haven't been on it recently to give it time to devolop... or destroy this monstrocity completley.

I had some worse, pre-Simtropolis ones, but apparently they got deleted awhile back.

So I finally got around to going back to these cities and taking pictures of my two forgotten cities.  These are the cities that I started on my friend's computer, back in the days before I had one good enough to run SC4 (he was kind enough to let me play it on his...of course, he liked it, too).  They were built with the Vanilla version of the game and contain no mods or downloads whatsoever (because I had only heard about Simtropolis, hadn't joined or even lurked around).  And of course, when I finally got a computer that ran it well enough, I had upgraded to SC4 Deluxe, so these imported regions just sit there on my computer simply for nostagia's sake.  Oh, well...

Okay, enough banter.  Here they are; first, Concord -

    Bird's eye view:

    BirdsEyeViewofConcord.jpg

    Closer view:

    Some terrible, terrible suburbs:

And now Riverside (which actually turned out slightly better):

    Riverside-Rivershore.jpg

    A closer look:

    LongviewofRiverside.jpg

And the beach, which to this day remains the best beach I've ever created in SC4 that still remains...(I know...15.gif):

So those are my first (and subsequently forgotten) cities.

My industrial area, from over two and a half years (nearly three) ago.

    SC4, Forevermore!

Currently preoccupied with architecture school...lurking with caution.

netpcdoc: this town has lots of potential with some cool plugins like waterfronts and stuff... go on with it!

el burro: these pics are cool. too bad there's so few terrain compatibility in the sc4 lots... this would look awesome if

masochist: cool work, the the terrible look due to the same reason as le burro's

dusktrooper: that's ... ehm... a bad picture because of all the names... can't tell much bout it... seems to look like industrial overkill

I was loading an old region of me with my current plugin folder just for fun.

I was doing this region somewhere in 2004 before I started Urland. At that time I was so eager to get that bugged Grand Stations that I did the UDI Mission for it in almost every bigger town ... At that time I didin't use any Grad Station mod which I do know so that's why the tracks are not connected.

I made this pic with one of my current plugin configuration - maybe there are old pics of that city somewhere on CDs but I don't have the time to  look for them ...

    uraltjx0.jpg

All my older regions had one thing in common: After playing them for about half a year I didn't like them anymore. On Urland I am working now for more than 2 1/2 years ...
