Simfan34 Lol! City council prefers interesting architecture over height... just so you know. 4.gif

IDS2 Lol, You didn't fool me. I suggested the idea of looking in that thread 3.gif   I'm not sure what changes to my roster I will make. Depends on the rest of the season and how far we go in the playoffs (if at all).

Jackie Thanks, more to come **cough** below **cough**

GreekMan Axon Corp. eh? Computers eh? Rivalling Microsoft eh? Well, the city is always looking for more investment but I think that building will not fit. No single corporation could ever possibly use that much office space. Perhaps a smaller building would be more appropriate to your needs. I really like NDEX too and I have every one of their towers. So, find another one of theirs and propose that! haha. 9.gif

ncysc4 Thats ok. I can't ask you to abandon RL in favour of visiting my CJ... well actually I could, but I won't. Aren't I nice? 17.gif Hopefully we'll see you around more often once RL settles down...? Just a reminder. You still have a vacant lot you haven't developed in my city. 4.gif

homeandaway Lol I agree, that was a bit much in terms of double posting. More pics you want? More pics I deliver!!

IDS2 Thats ok man. Just so long as you clean up those glitches all is well 9.gif

    20_title_block.jpg

Oooook! Here is the next update. And its a doozy! Lots of pics here. It is update 20 after all. 9.gifThanks to all who helped me get to update 20!! This update will take place over about 6 months.

Lets begin with an artists rendition of the North Shore developments in downtown Nemonos.

    proposal.jpg

In this image the Corata Plaza's 2 towers (on the right) and the Savannah Coffees International Inc. Tower (left) have been highlighted. Pretty fine proposals if I do say so.

Next we have a pic of the beginning of the construction on the Corata Tower.

    corata_plaza1.jpg

First step was to dig the deep foundations for the Main office tower. The main concrete support columns are beginning to be poured at this stage. You can see cranes beginning to dig the foundation of the 2nd tower as well.

Here's another shot of that same place at the same time from a different angle.

    corata_plaza2.jpg

This shot shows the enormous ramp that leads down into the foundation to allow construction equipment down there.

Next is a before mosaic of the areas where the Nemonos World Financial Building (NWFB) and the Savannah Coffees Tower will go.

    top_1.jpg

    bottom_1.jpg

In order to make way a total of some 5 blocks of existing buildings and streets must be demolished to make way for new growth, so, out with the old and in with the new.

The Siberian demolition teams are back at it again. (on a side note, does anyone know what happened to El Burro?)

    boom1.jpg

Somehow this massive fireball didn't cause damage to surrounding buildings. I don't know how those guys do it.

Once the ground was cleared of rubble construction crews readied the area for the new transit hub and a new road along the rail line.

    nwfb2.jpg

You can also see a billboard advertising the new NWFB that will go in this block. Note the rail station in the top left. It too has to go due to the new transit hub.

    transit_hub.jpg

The new transit hub includes a subway station, bus and rail connections. This rail line marks a new terminus as the old ending will be destroyed to make room for the Savannah Coffees Tower.

Next up. Buildings to be taken down for the Savannah Coffees Tower.

    savannah_coffees.jpg

The old mayor's house has been vacant for some years now. It was deemed an excessive extravagance by the previous mayor. So, now it goes too.

    boom2.jpg

Once again. Siberian demolition crews leveled the block in mere seconds. Their ruthless efficiency makes cleanup easy as there are few large chuncks of debris.

All the while a new tower for the Frank & Archai Insurance Company has been approved and construction is well underway.

    frank_archai.jpg

Back to our main focus. Here is a mosaic overview showing the area before foundations are dug on the NWFB and the Savannah Coffee Tower. You'll note the redundant train station has also been destroyed.

    top_2.jpg

    middle_2.jpg

    bottom_2.jpg

Thomson Construction Company has been contracted to build the NWFB and here we see they have dug the foundation and have started setting up the main support columns,

    nwfb.jpg

A wider shot showing big developments at Tower 1 of the Corata Plaza.

    overall_construction.jpg

Wow, things are really coming along fast! Pretty much all of Nemonos' major construction companies are involved in these projects. Thomson Construction Inc. (NWFB & Savannah Tower) and Ross Construction Ltd. (Corata Plaza) are the 2 main companies involved but others are doing smaller jobs as well.

Part of the plan involved building an underground mall under the NWFB and Savannah Coffee Tower. In order to do this the road dividing those sites had to be temporarily removed to allow for the digging. Here we see crews ripping up the asphalt.

    road_removal.jpg

A month or so later the foundation for the Savannah tower has been dug and crews continue to work on the other foundations as well. Watching all the construction cranes has become a hobby for many people in the downtown. Local restaurants have set out tables outside for patrons to watch the construction as they dine.

    top_3.jpg

    middle_3.jpg

    bottom_3.jpg

And finally, I leave you with an overview of the whole downtown as it stands currently. I hope you enjoyed this update! I know, lots of pics of the same place, but lol.

You certainly have quite an undertaking here. I am impressed -- they have made Nemonos into a Midwest powerhouse! Watch out Milwaukee and Minneapolis... Nemonos is hot on your trail!

Hisss! Nemonos it's onnnnnnnn! Go Minneapolis!

    (Less crime in Nemonos lol)

Well, for a doozy update, here's a doozy reply!

It seems El Burro has been at RLS or been lurking as a guest, since he hasn't logged in since February 7. His sig is still old too.

Anyway, to the update. Let's hope this is the only post this time 2.gif

I really like those towers. Nemonos is at a major boom! I really like the Savannah Coffes tower. Beautiful mosaics and great transit hubs. Cool construction shots and nifty demolition pics! I really like Frank & Archai, gotta be lucky though!

    Keep up the good work!

    ~IDS2~

EDIT: I have solved the mystery of Nemonos's name! So that's what your SCHL name means!

**hint I won't say anything to anybody**

As for the new building look at the Library Tower. See if it's ok. If it's ok i want it in the middle of DT

Great update! I love how you're showing the intervals of the building stages instead of just plopping the building. 3.gif And soon the original Nemonos Financial Building will be lost in the skyline.

Heehe, things are indeed progressing at a cracking pace.

Though, we'd like to have a Savannah company outfit the new Savannah Coffee building, as there are some "special" requirements that can only be handled by us. 3.gif The company that'll be handling the interior stuff is Eden Construction Co., a subsidiary of Eden Biomechanics Group. Otherwise, we know that Thompson is more than capable of building a good and sturdy building.

I think our CEO has already sent you 20-30% of the total cost of construction - we'll pay the rest once the superstructure's completed.

Wow, sweet construction! I noticed that there is a small block (I think 3x4) right next to the construction site (across from the hospital) with some medium density residential. Would there be anyway the DBSB could build there tower there? I will post a picture/ link to a suitable tower so you can let me know what you think. Also, have you ever seen these? They are the 2nd last lot on that page. They are road top transit lots, bus and subways stations can be built on the road, street, and avenue tops, they also can be built on a diagonal. They save a ton of space.

I have a very beautiful building waiting for photoshop. However, you didn't follow the plan! You can use the bus station in the transit pack, and the larger lots for  less repition. GREAT job though.44.gif

Schulmanator Indeed it is! Several other constrcution projects around the region had to be put on hold because this and the airport are using so much equipment and crews! haha. Yes... we shall dominate Minneapolis! MWahahahahahaha 38.gif

IDS2 Haha, lol, yes. Less crime in the downtown. Not in south Nemonos though. Some serious gang activity there 15.gif Yea, i saw that he hasn;'t even logged in in over a month. Pretty strange. Haha, you finally figured it out eh? Jackie figured it out way back when I announced my SCHL team 2.gif

GreekMan Thank you very much! Ahh, don't worry too much. You'll come back with an even better NDEX building later (I don't like the library tower... its ugly... sorry).

DFire870 Thank you thank you! Yes, I downloaded every constrcution BAT I could find, haha. I've never liked the construction animations that Maxis made. I mean seriously, no building is built underground and jacked up! haha. And the crazy metal scafolding around the really tall skyscrapers is just plain ridiculous. Yes, the old focal point is already surrounded and will soon be dwarfed.

Shadow_Assassin Yep, fast building in Nemonos. For sure. I'm sure Thomson Construction won't be too sad to lose it. There are many other projects that are itching to get the big equipment too! So, they'll not lose any money.

AfroThunda Thanks. Yep, I believe that block is 3x4 also. That block is just perfect for some redevelopment. Get rid of those old mid-rises and make way for a tower of shimmering glass! mwahahaha. Thanks for the new transit lots! That will be very handy. I've always wanted those 9.gif

Jackie Lol, I don't actually have a cough, so you need not worry. 5.gif   I'm glad you like my construction work so far! I wasn't sure if such an extensive update that in the end doesn't even show the completed buildings would go over well, but it turned out very well. 4.gif

    ccecill Thanks! Lol. 18.gif

natuurzoon Thanks! More development is always coming! Next update will likely chronicle more of the growth of this area I suspect... much work still to do!

Simfan34 Thanks... but I have no idea what you are talking about... 42.gif

    SCHL Update

Well, the Fighting Clownfish have been on an extended break due to a quirk in the schedule (no games for like a week! haha) But they are back and their first game is against Binsur City. Here's the results

    Binsur City @ Nemonos

    Period 1

    2:12 BCB GOAL! #67 M. Smith (2) (#16 J. Kipel, #41 M. Karpovich)

    3:41 NFC GOAL! #67 J. Franklin (4) (#24 A. Scablubilac, #90 W. Smithers)

    Period 2

    9:37 NFC GOAL! #71 J. Bauer (4) (#50 M. Markov, #90 W. Smithers)

    Period 3

    8:42 NFC GOAL! #24 A. Scablubilac (12) (#71 J. Bauer, #50 M. Markov)

    14:01 BCB GOAL! #2 J. Roberts (3) (#25 D. Andreychuk, #88 H. Ludvig)

    18:53 BCB GOAL! #44 J. Boston (4) (#9 B. Martinez, #97 L. Luther)

    Overtime

    13:22 BCB GOAL! #44 J. Boston (5) (#9 B. Martinez, #97 L. Luther)

FINAL SCORE: 3 -- 4 Nemonos Loses in OT

    TOTAL SHOTS: 39 -- 37

Unfortunately the extended break proved to be bad as the Clownfish were a little rusty, losing this one in OT.

Then they played another game the very next day.

    Nemonos @ Carleton

    Period 1

    5:08 NFC GOAL! #26 G. Volztoc (9) (#36 M. Dandinoit, #19 S. Tommelson)

    10:15 CAR GOAL! #35 J. Hover (7) (#43 Y. Adreas-Hear, #56 A. Falcon)

    Period 2

    10:04 NFC GOAL! #19 S. Tommelson (6) (#36 M. Dandinoit, #26 G. Volztoc)

    12:39 NFC GOAL! #26 G. Volztoc (10) (#36 M. Dandinoit, #10 J. Smith)

    17:24 CAR GOAL! #74 J. Blowey (3) (#21 W. Pill, #16 B. Penny)

    18:09 CAR GOAL! #3 G. Swallow (4) (#29 S. Blur, #21 W. Pill)

    Period 3

    4:59 NFC GOAL! #71 J. Bauer (5) (#67 J. Franklin, #50 M. Markov)

    13:46 NFC GOAL! #36 M. Dandinoit (3) (#19 S. Tommelson, #17 A. Pavlov)

    15:43 NFC GOAL! #19 S. Tommelson (7) (#36 M. Dandinoit, #10 J. Smith)

    FINAL SCORE: 3 -- 6 Nemonos wins!!

    TOTAL SHOTS: 30 -- 32

In this game Nemonos was back to its fine form dominating with 6 goals

AfroThunda aha, Yea. I've always wanted these kinda things. Having a bus 'lot' has always been a beef of mine.

IDS2 Hahaha, no worries. I'm no good with the subtleties either. 18.gif

pipishere Thanks, and thanks. I like doing the construction too. The in game construction engine is just no good. Way too unrealistic. haha.

GMT Yep! Tonnes! Thanks. With all this work it will take a while to finish, but finish it i shall!! 9.gif

homeandaway Thanks! Later this week I'll have more, I have to write a stupid essay for wednesday 15.gif

    daniel01 Thanks!

asturianu Thank you! Haha, yes. It seems we are. Your redevelopment is alot more tame than mine.

GreekMan Nice building, looking forward to a location.

    exgamer07 Thanks! 4.gif

Schulmanator Quite! We have the 3rd best goalie in the league right now 9.gif

Ok, so. I've got another stupid essay to do this week. Its due wednesday so I'll be busy doing that so no updates until thursday I'd suspect. Sorry... stupid essays! grrr...32.gif

So, In a complete move of shameless advertising. haha. I'm sure none of you knew (well GreekMan I think knew) that I co-own a film company. It is called Atilligone Films. Anywho. Here's our logo.

    atilligonelogo.jpg

You guys should all go check out our website. It has all our movies on it. Last year we upgraded to HD cameras so a few of the movies are in HD! 9.gif Soo... you should go there now.
