    feedback_title_block_2.jpg

Oh my, I kinda got sloppy on the replies here... there'll be many, haha.

Schulmanator Thank you. 4.gif It is quite hefty, I agree.

IDS2 yes, i was very confused by it all. I like your new avatar though. That banana man is awesome. 25 pages, ppp that'll be easy to get to. The real problem is will I ever get to that marshmellow emporioum... I keep getting sidetracked on other things.

ccecill Thanks. I hope so too. I think they have now. 4.gif

ilikehotdogsalot Thank you thank you. I like the progess style. I didn't used to do that because there was too much to cover. But in the downtown I like to do it because 1 new building is a big deal there (as opposed to 1 house in the suburbs, lol!) So it works well that way. Thanks again! Come back soon.

GreekMan Yayyy, Nemonos has cracked 600 posts. Thanks alot for that GreekMan. Congrats on the 800 as well. Subways are coming... eventually... I hope...

    simfan34 haha. Thanks.

asturianu ahah. Yes. Things are getting pretty crazy interms of downtown growth. But the City of Nemonos proper has no empty lands to build on and so they must redevelop existing blocks to accomodate growth. Thanks alot 9.gif

pipishere haha. Yes, it does. haha. That building just grew on its own. I hadn't intended for it at all. But it was such a nice building and I've never been good at growing big commercial towers so I figured I'd better just leave it well enough alone. And besides. It looks really good ! 4.gif

    simfan34 I concur. haha

    GreekMan see above reply

GreekMan Still not word yet... I expect that we'll hear soon...

    exgamer07 Thank you very much!

Schulman Yes, it was. A much better week.

jay_allen1978 Thanks. They are doing pretty well. Especially the Clownfish.

IDS2 lol. How have you played so many games?? Is that both of your teams? Lol, the Simbowl II is to host next seasons simbowl. You don't have to be in it . It's like the superbowl.

skyliner22 Haha, thanks. They appreciate that. We'll have to see about that. **eyes narrow**

Ok, too many replies there. haha I'll have to do feedback more often. lol Thanks for all your replies!!

    18_title_block.jpg

Ok, today's update will be about another shore redevelopment in the downtown. This will be the last phase of the shoreline redevelopment project. The same problems were happening here as on the other shores. Erosion and instability around the foundations of large condominium buildings.

First however is a special pic of the new massive condo tower The Harbourside that has recently been completed in the downtown core. Towering over its surroudings at an astounding 75 stories this is the tallest building in number of stories and 3rd tallest by rooftop. (1st = NBIC Tower, 2nd = Ross Corp. Tower).

    top_1.jpg

    middle_1.jpg

    bottom_1.jpg

And now back to the main point of this update. Here's the shoreline before any of the work was done.

    top_2.jpg

    middle_2a.jpg

    bottom_2.jpg

The precarious nature of the situation is clear even to the layman.

Here's another mosaic of the small little subdivision of houses. These houses are some of the only reminders remaining of what downtown Nemonos used to be like. Just a bunch of little houses.

    top_3.jpg

    bottom_3.jpg

Unfortunately, this area is extremely valuable real-estate and demand for housing and offices in the core area is too high to allow these low density uses to persist.

Here's the area after fill has been brought in to extend the shoreline.

    midway.jpg

And here's the area where the houses were once the area was filled and reinforced with a seawall. As you can see, given the surroundings, the houses didn't fit into the area anymore anyway.

    large_block.jpg

    top_4.jpg

    middle_4.jpg

    bottom_4b.jpg

In this mosaic we see the financial district stretching to the new shoreline development area. You'll note the unmistakeable message. This large lot is in need of development. What should be built here??

This will be an open to all architectural competition. Submit your design proposals for this lot and the best design will be selected to be built here.

here is a pic of that same area without the text, in case you need it (linkie)

I look forward to your proposals. I know I'll get some good ones!

In conclusion here is a massive overview mosaic of the whole of the downtown Nemonos area.

Loovely! yes it is both. And fabulous, waiting for the marshmellows like you say. Eventually, anyway. I'll have to create a plan. I have 2 questions:

    1. What water mod do you use?

    2. What photo editing program do you use?

Magnificique! Absolutely marvelous. Nemonos is very big now...keep it up! 9.gif

    Hows this for the building...

So the public doesn't know what the building really is...just say it's Aromatic Injection Center.

Marshmellow Emporiums are risky business...though very benefitial to the community.

I don't have any "fancy" graphics.

But I think you should expand the development zone to include all of that end of the rail line (and spur). Move the station across the street and have the rail terminate there. It doesn't seem necessary to go any further. Once you do that you free up a bunch of extra land all the way up to the mayor's house.

Today I read this CJ from page 1, and I'm impressed! This is a great CJ, and I love how you not only showed the development of Nemonos over time, but you added interactivity to it too.

Such development has astounded me! The mix in architectural styles really does work. As for the new building...hmm...i'm not sure to be honest. I'd recommend some lovely high-rise apartments but as for which...i don't know. I'm sure you'll choose something fabulous anyway. 4.gif

IDS2 Haha, yes... marshmellows will come eventually. I use PEG's brigantine (sp) water mod and I use Adobe Photoshop CS2 for my photo-editting. Thanks again for you replies!

IDS2 Oooo, nice proposal. But I've already got the emporium planned out for somewhere else. Perhaps you could put a a financial instutution from Crossrivers here?

chriss Haha, awww, no fancy graphics 15.gif   An interesting idea. I never thought of rerouting that rail line.

DFire870 Wow, you read the whole of my CJ?? Thats alot. 21 pages worth. Thanks alot for your support. I greatly appreciate it. I hope you'll stick around and see Nemonos continue to grow. 4.gif

GreekMan You're too kind. Thank you so much. I'm glad you enjoy it so much. You should enter something in the contest, come onnn. It can't hurt! haha

Shadow_Assassin Thank you very much! Thats a great proposal. I think you are leading in this so far! That building is perfect for savannah coffee. Its very towering and ominous looking. 38.gif

ilikehotdogsalot Ooo, very nice. That building is actually already in my city. but its quite a ways away so I think I could put it in again. Good proposal. Thanks for participating!

pipishere Thanks! I appreciate your feedback. Don't be shy. Post a proposal!

Simfan34 I do know who. I'm looking forward to it. The lot is something like 6-11 or something. You can count it on the pic to be sure.

Thanks again to all who replied so far! I hope more people will do proposals. That will make things more interesting!

Oh, also. I'd like to make mention that I'm now (and have been for a couple weeks now) using the Industry Quadrupler mod. Demand was just too high and so I needed to take some action there.

Meh, I was joking about it being the emporium. Just shameless promotion of the upcoming services...lol, financial institution would be great, they should sell TV dinners in 7 delightful flavors! 9.gif OK that was nonsense...of course, fantastic anyway! I'm so excited for my new job...9.gif

Yeah, it was a lot, but I had a lot of time on my hands .18.gif

And I'm thinking for the plot of land, there should be a nice museum with a plaza in the front of it. I think this museum would be great there, because it allows for enough space for maybe a parking lot and/or a nice plaza (with maybe a sculpture).
