SC4 Extra Cheats DLL

Ok guys the reason i editing this because a got answers to all my questions and desided to create a gude something like whys.

First if all its works for SC4 Deluxe Edition/Rush Hour. Not sure about sim city 4.

1.)Download Cheat here:

2)Extract .dll file to whys folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\Your Windows Username\My Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins

Example:

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins

3)Go to game to any region where you started city.

4)Press CTRL+X and you will see a window will pop-up where you can enter cheats.

5)To see list of cheats right-click on window where to enter cheat, whe pop up window will drop down which list of cheats.

Also you can just enter cheats.

The list of cheats:

SetSeaLevel [number] - Changes the sea level to height of "number", from 0-200

ViewWebBrowser [web address] - Opens your preferred browser and navigates to address

PlaceNetwork [type] [x1,y1] [x2,y2] - Draws network of specified type (type is an integer) from tile x1, y1 to tile x2, y2

PlaceZone [type] [x1,y1] [x2,y2] - Draws zone of specified type (type is an integer) from tile x1, y1 to tile x2, y2

SetMayorName [name] - Same as "hellomynameis"

SetCityName [name] - Same as "whereRUfrom"

SimSpeed[speed] - Sets speed where "speed" is "Slow", "Medium", "Fast", or "Pause"

Zoom[x] - Sets zoom to x (0-5)

ExecuteScript [script name] - Executes a LUA script by name

GZWinMessageBox [text] [title] [options 0-5] - Creates a custom message box 

SizeOf - Zoom level ( -1-200)

Yeah, there are a lot of actions you can take with this file that will not be considered cheats. Like, why should I ControlX and then scroll down to PlaceHospitalTool when I can just click my way into the hsopital menu and pick one?

That is because the file was originally not meant for cheats, but for testing puposes.

Another thing: ignas2526, is this file in any way different than the old ExtraCheats.dll that was released by Buggi?

I can't see a difference for now.

The source code is still proprty of MAXIS and they have not released the code, otherwise there would a massive amount of things newly added to the game.

Ok, so I stumbled across, this site with so many BATS and Lots made by really skilled people. I would never be bored with the same buildings, I thought. But when you go down the path of using STEX BATs and Lots with little monthly fee or none at all, where does the challenge which leads to fun come from? For example, where is the fun in getting a $10,000 Microwave that produces 29999 power at $10/month? Isn't THAT cheating as well, principally speaking?

I don't mean to flame the makers or users at all. It's just that I'm really tempted to use these but I'm trying to find a justifiable reason to use it, and I can't seem to find it, other than the fact that it looks different, pleasing to the eyes.

There are many things that are also made to make things more real world like, just have to spend lots of time reading and searching. After you have played this game for so many years, it's really not cheating using things that give boat loads of money in a matter of seconds, or power plants that can power an entire city. After so much playing it's about growing a structured city in a controled manner. That's my thought of the moment.

Ok I'm rather new to the whole modding thing and I want to make sure I've got this right.  Do I just unzip the files to the normal "Plugins" folder, or do I have to do something special to get it to work?

I like to try different layouts before I launch my city.  Sometimes I'd be busy plopping and bulldozing and not notice the "pause" was off.  I can use Simdate to reset the date to 1/2/00.

As mentioned in the previous post, I use 01 01 01 to first change the date.  Then I use 01 01 2000 to set the date to 1/2/00.  Never could figure out how to get 1/1/00, but whats a day?

Also once you have first changed the date, entering 11 22 -9600 gives you 1/1/01.

Furthermore, SimDate won't work at all if your speed is set to "cheetah".  Select a slower speed and hit pause before you start to use SimDate.

Hello MudPuppy,

SIMDATE appears to set the in-game-date to one day past what you enter - if you enter the last day of a month - the in-game-date will be set to the first day of the next month; and the two digit in-game-year 00 is actually an abbrieviation for 2000. And weird things do happen if you don't enter a valid date; insufficent parameters = no change, sufficent parameters (outside of proper range) gives weird dates.

Thus "Simdate 12 31 1999" will set the in-game-date to "01/01/00".

I have the 'extra cheats' and its not working for at all...I have done as told in the readme, all that comes up is the 'command line', type in cheat cheat then nothing...... pressing 'enter', 'any key' does not result in further dialog boxes or lists or whatever is suppose to happen after the initial entry... what is to be done after the command line pops up, then enter the cheat, then what? does the next thing open automatcally or do I need to 'enter' or '?'

If you can get the cheat window open - and if the .dll file is correctly placed - right-clicking on/in the cheat window with the mouse will produce the extra cheats list.

Once you have a cheat code typed into the cheat window/box - use the enter key; if enter doesn't appear to work - double check what you typed - typos (and, sometimes, incorrect parameters) will leave what you typed in an open cheat window/box.

Jack_wilds here, thanks for the micromanaged instructs... it took 'some doing' 'til it finally 'clicked', what had to click that didn't before is a mystery. When I first down loaded this I had in the C:maxis/simcity/apps folder then I down loaded it again...thinking that the first time wasn't the charm now it'll work. I then unzipped and placed in the plugins of the simcity folder in my docs. It still didn't work... then I looked back in the apps folder and removed it thinking I solved it... it still didn't then I removed it and placed the .dll out side the folder -no work again... then I finally placed just the .dll in the main plugins folder -Now it works! I'm finding buildings I never knew I had. Now to learn how to navigate this better and utilize the other cheats... best regards -Jack

It took a few tries but now have the cheats! Use "NEW WORKING LINK FOUND HERE" in the very first post . Unsip or extract the files then add/drag to your plug-in file. Once you start your city pause then do the ctrl + x scenario for the cheat box and right click to bring up the list. Only tried "moolah" so far. It worked for me if when I added a space after "moolah" then your amount. I did $100.000.000 with no problems.
