Amazing. I right clicked on the Installer in Task Manager and selected maximize and voila, the window opened. It's installed. Thanks again for the response. Merry Christmas!!

Thanks for the response. Alt-Tab shows a black rectangle with only the NAM logo and goes to the desktop if I arrow over to it. Task Manager shows that 'Open JDK Platform Binary' is running and if I click on 'greater than' symbol next to it "Network Addon Mod42 Install...' drops down below 'Open JDK Platform Binary'. I tried the Windows - Shift - Left/Right idea but nothing happens. I don't have any other displays, but I have used wireless to connect the laptop to my smart tv when I want more people to see what I'm looking at. I checked 'Display' in settings, and it only shows Display 1. Any further thoughts?

I hope this is the right place to ask. I have the original SimCity4 and Rush Hour CDs and realized they weren't going to get me playing the game again, so i downloaded, installed and can play the Steam version. I'd like to add the NAM42. I DL'd it and added the Java part. (I'm running a fully updated Windows 10 on a gaming laptop I bought 3 months ago and had to select the "software" graphics option.) When I launch the Windows NAM installer, I get a command window saying the 4gb patch was installed and press any key to continue. I do and I see a square NAM logo that collapses to the task bar. Then I'm stuck. If I hover over the icon in the task bar it says it's the NAM installer, but I can't run it. Hopefully I missed something simple. Any help would be appreciated.

Without the STEX I turned to trying some of the tools - Reader, BAT, Lot Editor - tough sledding I went to the Maxis site for the tutorials. Guess what - all the tutorial links there are to Simtropolis. I'm using Omnibus now but as of yesterday, the tutorial links at the Maxis site were not working. I don't know how important that news is in your overall scheme og things at Simtropolis, but I couldn't find a way to report it to Maxis so I thought I'd mention it here. Again, well done. MudPuppy

NetPCDoc Thanks for solving the last of that effort for me. I was using trial and error and gave up at 1/2/00. It's amazing the knowledge avaialble here. MudPuppy

I like to try different layouts before I launch my city. Sometimes I'd be busy plopping and bulldozing and not notice the "pause" was off. I can use Simdate to reset the date to 1/2/00. As mentioned in the previous post, I use 01 01 01 to first change the date. Then I use 01 01 2000 to set the date to 1/2/00. Never could figure out how to get 1/1/00, but whats a day? Also once you have first changed the date, entering 11 22 -9600 gives you 1/1/01. Furthermore, SimDate won't work at all if your speed is set to "cheetah". Select a slower speed and hit pause before you start to use SimDate. Happy gaming MudPuppy

Just a thought. I built a mid-sized city with all farms around a small town with some commercial. I also had freight traffic. Not much but some. So I assume agricultural zoning does generate freight traffic. Best wishes, Mudpuppy

Hello, this is my first post. I've played RH for about 4 months and found this site yesterday. Wow!! I was trying some custome terrain stuff with the Hole Digger Lot modd and it costs $$$$. I wanted to then start my city with the usual $100,000 (hard level). I came here for "cheats" to replenish my funds before starting play. I've read this whole thread and probably won't use cheats during play, just Moolah to start with the default amount. Moolah wouldn't work for me either at first. About the fifth try, in frustration, I put in -50,000. It worked! And now I can put in other amounts. Who this helps some others having trouble with Moolah. I also used the link in the first post today. Someone fixed it. *grin* Good gaming and best wishes to everyone. MudPuppy
