I hope my house mate Cristian will accompany me to the Coronation celebration. I will wear his gift to me..the wooden stilettos! They will go well with my wooden skirt IF Fledder gets done with it. I am concerned the shellac may not dry well. I don't want to stick to the skirt!! I have a wooden top also. I will wear it as well so as to look really dressy for the occasion.

The caretaker of the Lynx abode has delivered a PADD (Personal Access Display Device) to the Supreme Wirdle.

We are a bit concerned however that the Wirdle has never seen such an electronic doohicky before.  Please do not be frightened of it.

Fear not, Lynx! She has special powers. Technology impresses her. Just the other day, she heard talk of a creating a wagon made of iron which would propel itself along its own roadway to whisk its passengers across the country. Innovation is her friend!

If Lynx can't make it to the actual coronation on Tuesday, he'll still be around for the summit talks to begin thereafter.

Shall I save him some cake?

Update 3: Regalia

The Regal Cat's Eye

A flight of fancy in gold on gold enamel, this sphere serves as the symbolic representation of the Supreme Wirdle's leadership, eternally watching over her subjects. A web of diamond brilliants radiate outward from the 163 carat diamond in the center. This diamond, known as "The Cat's Eye", is one of the largest ever found in Schulmania.

The Golden Prey

The Golden Prey is a 24 karat gold songbird, commissioned by the Bureau of Feline Affairs for the Supreme Wirdle's 2nd coronation. It represents the offerings of prey for the health and welfare of cats everywhere. The sacrifices of prey (known to cats as "The Succulent Ones") for the greater good of felines is recognized with this precious object.

The Coronation Coach and The Egg of Schulmanity

Created in a similar style to The Regal Cat's Eye, The Egg of Schulmanity is a gift from the humanoid Schulminions to the Supreme Wirdle. It is designed to serve as a holder for the Cat's Eye. The Coronation Coach is stored in a matching egg. The coach is scale model of the one the Supreme Wirdle rides in for state occasions. The model, much like the genuine full-size item, is gilded and jewel encrusted. And, like the original, a gilded rendition of her favorite crown caps the coach.

The Mantle of Meow

This rich, tapestry-like cloth is woven with golden threads. The Mantle of Meow is spread over the Supreme Wirdle's throne to provide her comfort as she reigns. Dozens of weavers from across Schulmanicus combined their efforts to make this masterpiece, which pictures an array of humanoid Schulminions coming to pay homage to the Supreme Wirdle.

The Coronation Medal

This medal will be presented to all dignitaries present at the coronation.

The Supreme Wirdle wears both crowns and collars. The collars tend to be more comfortable than the crowns, which sometimes slip off due to the triangular ears. Her current collection includes crowns for each of the two districts she rules (Devonshire is a colony and does not have a full colonial government just yet). The time around, she will be presented with a new symbol of power.

The Scepters of Wirdleonia

The Scepters of Wirdleonia are newly-crafted from the influx of gold which entered the Schulminion economy during the heyday of gBay and Yellow Hat Realty speculation in Devonshire. Composed of pure gold and nearly 3.61 meters in length each (diameter of 63 cm), these are not meant to be carried. They are to be displayed in the palace of Wirtyplace as symbols of her greatness. Miniatures, composed of gilded hardwood and 1 meter long, are to be placed at government offices nationwide as symbols of her authority. The scepters will presented as the high point of the coronation ceremony on Tuesday, May 22.
