    433GMA-Chocolate-Lover-2-755116.jpg

    Many happy returns!

Mikeaut1 Thanks! Glad you like it. I think it's an improvement. Molor did a nice job!

DioAngel Thanks, SIC! You are so nice! The Queen of Comedy!

    coronationemblemcg7.jpg

football_fever She is a born leader!

    sc4portugal Obrigado!

Bat Danke! You are very kind.

The Big Z Thanks. Glad you liked the update. What's next? The BFA summit is still underway in Temple Terrace. There's also revisits due to Atkinos, Gran Maru, Atkiniros, Schulmanidad and Smightower. New additions coming to the Sacred Precinct. And of course the fourth city on Lake George. There's a lot going on in Schulmania. Come back and check us out anytime!

Jacqulina Glad you like the cat party!

Amerikaner Thanks for coming by! There's a lot to look through, indeed! If you try the table of contents out, you can catch up on the back story. Believe it or not, there is a massive story arc going on here and each update does actually have its roots in previous ones and links to future ones. And some big surprises are coming... eventually!

Leech10 Purr!!! Come back anytime for more meows!

Bakercity Qapla'! Molor Kahless sends a hearty "nuqneH" to you and is pleased you like his work. It's honorable for a warrior to create heraldry, since it can be applied to glorious battle. Of course, unfortunately, Schulmania has no military, no weapons, and no wars/battles. But, you know how things can change!

6underground Thanks! Glad to have you drop in on Schulmania. After seeing your awesome pix in New Rhodesia, I have to wonder how cool this stuff would look in SC7! BTW, I checked out your web page. I have not been to Wales in ~20 years. My fondest memories are of cool castles and the best fish and chips in the UK! Cheers!

    DioAngel Thanks!! You rock!

PhatHead Hehehe! I am ready to PAR-TAY!

cleaner475 You may want to check out the table of contents. You will see ever since they selected their superiors, cats, to rule them, Schulmania has been on a steady climb to the top!

Devonshire: Georgehampton - Seat of the Council

    lakegeorgesealkf4.gif

The administrative region of Lake George features four roughly contiguous townships, each flanking the lake. So far, we have witnessed the fun and quirky village of Georgetown as well as the sleepy farming town of George's Crossroads. We have also seen the posh hillside town of St. George. Now, to the largest of the villages of Lake George - Georgehampton. The four towns around the lake comprise their own administrative area. This administrative area is officially known as The Council of Lake George. The council area is also the defacto colonial government center for Devonshire, since a permanent capital, envisioned for Schulmericho, is still quite away from being built.

Before we explore the colonial capital, let's examine the components of the Council of Lake George.

    lakegeorgecouncilmt0.jpg

The emblem of the council is the red rose. It was selected by newly-appointed Colonial Governor Grape Ape. It was selected because roses were found in the Lake George area when it was discovered and because it is a symbol of beauty, as is the lake.

    counciloflakegeorgegi5.gif

A grouping of three red roses (four was considered too boxy for a design - three seemed easier on the eye) was selected for each of the villages, and for the official flag of the council.

    lakegeorgewa4.gif

Each village selected a design based upon the three red roses concept. They are each shown below.

    Georgehampton

    georgehamptonbu7.gif

The white chevron with blue background is symbolic of the high ground Georgehampton occupies around the lake, and its role as council seat.

    George's Crossroads

    georgescrossroadsaf5.gif

The tree is symbolic of George's Crossroads' role as an agricultural center for the region. It also represents the many natural spaces in town.

    Georgetown

    georgetownmr3.gif

The blue and white stripes on the Georgetown shield symbolize the lake and sky and the level ground upon which the town sits.

    St. George

    stgeorgefc1.gif

St. George features the three roses on a background of ermine. This is emblematic of the wealth and prestige St. George represents.

Before we gaze upon the fine town of Georgehampton, let us first admire the large Lake Style edifice which serves as the administrative heart of the region. The Council Chambers of Lake George is an imposing lakeside structure built along Lake George Promenade, as the lake circumferential road is called in Georgehampton. Not just a governmental headquarters, the building also serves as a cultural headquarters- hosting fine arts performances and music concerts. The grassy lawn behind the building provides excellent views of the lake and is a great place for picnics and gatherings. In the absence of a central Devonshire government, the Council of Lake George operates the colonial government. As more areas get settled, Georgehampton should revert to its intended role as a local government center. So, without much further ado, the Government House, home of the Chambers of Government of the Council of Lake George and Colonial Government of Devonshire.

    devonshiredistgovthouseam6.jpg

This imposing brick edifice is the most distinctive Lake Style building in the district, and the signature landmark of the Georgehampton skyline.

    devonshiredistgovthouseas4.jpg

This massive five story structure is by far the largest governmental structure in Schulmania. This was not only to provide for future growth, but also because Georgehampton would be serving as the administrative site for colonial government until a new capital could be built and for housing the district offices of the Bureau of Feline Affairs.

    devonshiredistgovthouseyu5.jpg

The stately façade combines elements of Lake Style brick homes and the formal Temple Style into an appealing combination. The architect, Troy McClure, won an award for the design. If that name sounds familiar, you might remember him from such buildings as Fledder's Wooden Shoes and Georgetown Hall.

    devonshiredistgovthousehu9.jpg

Behind the building lies the leafy lawn with the best view in town. Of the many cultural events hosted here, one stands out as the most... um.... interesting...

    fleddersdancepartybi3.jpg

Let's just put it this way... that's how they coined the term "disco inferno"!
