Another shameless promotion, from the newly-estabished Devonshire Tourism Authority:

connor_v Thanks! Glad to see you back.

football_fever Yes, it has been a while. The nice thing about discoveries is that I can repeat the cycle of development. Gives me some variety, which amuses me!

Zipme17 Thanks! I subcontracted the naming out to a monkey, as you may be able to tell from the place names!

Krio Glad you like the names. I will have more custom stuff later. I didn't want to spend too much time on it yet when a lot will be paved over soon enough. It is coming though!

fledder200 Thanks! I hope Evil Lord Bananarama likes it too.

Jacqulina Jacky from the block!! Lad you like it, J-lina! Always fun to start a new region. I wish though you could plop other types of animals. It would be fun to see zebra and giraffes and lions and such. Maybe we could convince Queen Narya to Bat us up some cool ploppable animals!

Giligone Thanks! Those tourism folks sure are quick! I mean, there isn't yet a single building in the region and they already are looking for tourists!

Shanna Thank you! Glad you came by! I enjoyed your rural church update as well. I have a little rural church thing planned for Devonshire, but it will be several updates away.

Bat Thanks! It will be crawling with jet skis and motorboats before you know it!

Jacqulina  J-lina!! You rock, as always! I can't wait for your new album to come out. I have heard the new hit single "Fallin' for Paradise Falls" and it's bound to win a grammy!

RushHourFreak  Thanks! Always a pleasure to hear from you. I hope you enjoyed your bottle of wine. I think Schulmania is due to develop a wine producing region. I will have to look into that!

Back again, Bruce.  I actually wasn't lurking last time- I had just typed a fairly lengthy comment and... well, you know the rest of the story.  It seems to happen to me here.

    charliebrownnj0.png

Anyway, for whatever it's worth, I officially pass you the 3RR "everything but the kitchen sink" mantle here on ST.  There are a few other great CJs here, and my heart, of course, will always be over at Anduin Valley Revisited, but you have definitely picked up the torch of "going where(ever) no man one has gone before."  Your creativeness and willingness to think outside the box goes beyond outstanding- it's simply amazing.

...hope I haven't cursed you now to endless JRun errors and lost updates...

Schulmania is just that- I'm crazy about this CJ.

    David

    Devonshire: Ready to Roll

Now that the new region had been discovered and exploration was well underway, it fell to the civil engineers and urban planners to develop plans for developing this new territory. Of course, it also became a favorite past time of philosophers and geographers to explain the new discoveries. What does it all mean? Are these huge new territories south and now east of the islands also islands, or perhaps part of something larger? If part of something larger, then part of what? Where is the end of this new land? And, a new theory was put forth—maybe the vast territory to the south is somehow linked to the vast territory to the east, creating a super island of some sort. Such a super island would have Schulmanicus, once revered as the center of the world, as an island located off of the coast of a far larger territory. Would this impact the development of Schulminion society? Only time will tell.

To oversee development of the vast new territory, named the Devonshire District by decree of the Supreme Wirdle, a new government agency was created. The City Planning Office was designed to initiate development of new territories and manage established cities’ growth. Since Devonshire was, at least to the Schulminions’ knowledge, uninhabited, initial development would be planned from the colonial government buildings in Gran Maru. The Atkinos government had plenty of practice in developing new lands and was recently promoted in stature to be equal to that of the Schulmanicus government.

As the City Planning Office finalized plans for development, engineering crews set up at the designated sites for construction. The Lake George area was selected as the first site to be developed. The Devon Creek area was selected as the second site. Both sites would require some terraforming. This manpower-intensive effort would be done mostly by hand and simple machines, as power tools and heavy earthmoving equipment are still many years away from being invented.

Let’s examine the work of the teams.

    lg2lu6.jpg

At the western end of Lake George, a work camp was established. Over 150 workers from Camp Curious toiled from dawn to dusk each day doing site preparation.

    lg1pq3.jpg

After several months, the rugged terrain around the lake was showing signs of being much smoother and more ready for development.

Jacqulina Hello! I wish the wild animals would show up in game. I keep hoping. The best I get is the big bird circling overhead...

    Hester Yes, definitely a groaner!

sc4portugal Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the update.

Asturianu Gracias, como siempre! Glad you enjoyed the updates - more stuff is on the way soon!

Pipishere Thanks! I am enjoying the nature. Not as good as Jacqulina or Narya or Shanna, but I am stealing ideas from them just as fast as my pitiful neurons can process them! More and better nature pix will come as I start to develop - guaranteed, or your money back!

Fallon144 Thanks. I would love to visit Berlin. I have not been to Europe since '03 and I am ready to head back over!!! I love it!

Dedgren Thanks, David. I appreciate your thoughtful comments. Your CJ has always been a great source for eye candy, but more importantly as a teaching tool. It is truly a fine thing to have both a great city and great tutorials in one place. My chapeau is off to you. I appreciate your "passing of the mantle". I hope Schulmania proves worthy of that honor.

PS: Please don't curse me to more errors!! I have enough of those as it is! (Note to self - get out the voodoo doll... break the curse!)

Zelgadis If I could plop me in some monkeys, I would!

Krio Thanks! New development is on the way!

Jacqulina Thanks! More is coming! Thanks, pacesetter!!

Shanna Thanks! My first rural church is in the on deck circle, ready to be revealed soon. I have another one I have also been working on. The settings for each are quite different. Lemme know what you think when they arrive.

Narya Glad you asked! I am checking now to see if any Schulminion real estate companies are ready to advertise online. Start saving your schulmonetas, just in case they are!

Giligone The plans for Devon Creek, if fulfilled, would represent a major surge in Schulminion development. We'll see if they can make their fantasies come to life in stone and brick!

Uumke Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the update.

Bat Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the update.

fledder200 No luck on Pocahontas yet. We'll keep looking... on VHS as well as DVD... till we find her!

jj88 Thanks. I am glad that you like the new region.
