    Hester Napkins are free!

NMUSpidey Sharing one straw, perhaps? A curly one? A heart shaped one?

Dsrwhat316 Glad to see you back! And, glad you liked Schulmericho. In the previous Schulmericho updates, I used only about 40% of my pix, so I am still looking for ways to get them in.

gabry85 The last straw? Nah, I got a box of them behind the counter!

Markus J Thanks - and glad ou came back. The look you describe is exactly the look I am going for. So, I am glad you feel that way.

    Leech10 No trans fats?

gabry85 Klingon warriors don't eat fries - they eat goQ. Of course, one can fry it up like fries...

zelgadis Well, the look is novel but not new. Schulmericho has been around a while and is in the Narrow Style, but it is the only one thus far with that style.

Smarty218 Man, I am getting hungry... where's my McNuggets and dippin' sauce?

    *Rasies hand* I'm ready too!

Somehow, I can just imagine us all breaking into a Spongebob voice, saying, "I'm ready!" right now. 3.gif

I dont like warm weather. If you have a fan or air conditioner I will go there. But if it's cold then I could think of something.

The Amber Fields Community Church in the previous update is great... I like your country settings. Good Job on this, though I have only read up through page 80 or so on it! So big!

Computer, please check the replicator for bugs.

    South Wirdleonia: The Citadel

Time to put theory into practice. The design plans for Mt. Carmel and Chace City have been modified and then implemented. Construction has taken quite a while, as the location is an outpost far to the south of any existing town. Materials have been transported over trails from South Schulmanidad, which is itself the southernmost city in Schulmania. The two cities- the hilltop and the plains – will be built as twins. They will share a name… but will be differentiated by ad added descriptor. Keeping with the architecture of the location, the final name of the area is Carmelcciase (CAR-mell-CHEE-a-say) and the two villages will be known as Castello di Carmelcciase (the hilltop) and Campo di Carmelcciase (the flatland). In this update, we will explore the hilltop, center of the agricultural village of Castello di Carmelcciase (often called “Castello” or “The Citadel” by local inhabitants).

Castello di Carmelcciase envelops the summit of Mt. Carmela, the highest point in the plains. At the rounded peak sits the town center, affectionately called “the citadel”. It contains the town’s commerce and civic buildings and several homes. The cluster of buildings enjoys dramatic views of the fields and farmlands which span out toward the horizon in every direction. At the very center of town are the town church and civic center, which are at an angle to the other buildings in the complex. The church is distinguished by its belltower and the civic center houses the village offices, school, clinic and Bureau of Feline Affairs office. Also on the summit are several shops and a cluster of homes. Fanning out from the crest are farms of various types and sizes. The area has extensive vineyards, sustenance crops, cattle and ornamental subtropical plants being produced.

    center2wi9.jpg
Approaching the citadel from the south, along Buttershooter Trail allows one to see the steep, rocky face of the mountain. Development goes right to the Cliffside, with a hedgerow as a border. The flowers by the path are not just beautiful, they are also part of a floral supply farm. Many beautiful flowers abound in the area, including the charming garden of Casa Nihonkaran (at lower right).

    center9iz3.jpg
The citadel centers on the town church and civic center, which are built at an angle to the other structures. The main marketplace (top left), Mercato dei Gatti, hosts vendors for all sorts of wares, including food, clothing, general supplies, and cat toys.

A wider view of the summit reveals a cluster of homes and businesses, connected to the surrounding countryside by a series of trails. The trail with the Schulmania flag at its head is the one which leads downhill to the companion town of Campo de Carmelcciase.

    center4ro3.jpg
The connection to the next town is at right. At top left is the Blackfur Apartments complex. At top right, facing, is the only hotel in town, the Alexander Inn.

    center7.jpg
Looking south, one can see all of the citadel and some of its surrounding fields.

As we pull further back, the altitude differential becomes quite evident, as we see the citadel looming above the farm and fields.

    center1.jpg
Butterpaw Trail is at the right, Via Carmelcciase is at the top left and connects the two villages.

    center8.jpg
To the west, part of the extensive aqueduct system can be seen. The plains are drier than most of Schulmania and there are no lakes or rivers nearby. So, an elaborate network leads water from small springs on the mountain top to fields and a reservoir in the next town.

More of the system will be shown in the next update. Also featured will be the farmlands which surround the citadel. The farmlands are just part of the agricultural bounty of this area. In the plain beyond are the many juicy game animals that were discovered during hunting expeditions. This area is quickly becoming the meatpacking capital of the nation, shipping exotic meats across the realm to hungry cats.
