I love the look of the entire thing. It is my favorite style. I loved Gran Maru in the beginning too with that style and the aqueducts. Really an impressive update.

By the way, did you say the Admiral commissioned the catnip fields? Who is funding this enterprise? How is she doing, um, if you know what I mean???

I'm guessing that the expeditions are still going on. Am I right? Well, in that case, I'm expecting more that like 5 districts! Lol, just kidding.

Has the Admiral gained any weight lately? Cause, in THAT case, I'm expecting a few more mapped districts such as her STOMACH. They may need a FEW expeditions to cover that area!

Keep mesmerizing us...

Leech, you are correct. She is officially "ample".

And, Pat Riot, that new siggy or yours is exceptionally stylish... you must have great (grate?) taste! (and great designers!) lol

Of course, one can just buy a custom-designed plate. I've seen some California ones that have a palm tree on it, those a re pretty nice. Too bad it isn't the standard plate for the state. It took me awhile to really figure out our numbering system: 1ABC234. The first number represents the year when the plate was issued (except for pickup trucks, their numbers are always higher), the first letter also represents that, and I have no idea what the other signify. 3.gif

Bad news: sevengrandophobia has slowed comments! This is, like, the third time Schulmania has been in page 2 this month! And it hasn't been posted in in a day!

btw I like my new plate better than the one on my car... ugh, it's been unstylish for the past 4 months.

Zelgadis Thanks - glad you liked the plate and the update. Maybe I inspired you to get a personalized Ontario plate?

jjune4991 Well, I think I am closer to 30 now that the 3 new Devonshire towns and the 2 in Carmelcciase are out. In census 3, the population was just shy of 112K.

gabry85 Thanks! Lol! Glad you enjoyed the hill town. It does sorta have that Tuscan look, doesn't it? Ifit was like Siena Italy, the it would be true perfection. That town is, as we say in my homeland "right purty"! Exotic meats? Zebra, elephant and rhino!

Hester I am glad you like the updates and see the similarity to Gran Maru. But, this is far more rural. As for the catnip, the Admiral is paying for it out of her account. No telling where the profits are going...

Joetropian1 More expeditions? You betcha! I have a very interesting set of updates I am working on for East Devonshire. And the Admiral needs to sail west. I wonder if the ships are buoyant enough to hold her!

patriots_1228 Hehehe. Sorta sounds Harry Potterish, doesn't it? Does that mean I can sell a bunch of movies, books, and merchandise on Schulmania now? KA CHING!!!!!!!!!!!

ky72x I am with you- California needs a better license plate. Surely with all of those movie special effects guys in Hollywood someone could design a rockingly awesomely cool one!

    Hester Hungry.

Leech10 I am! For I shall not update again until the milestone has been passed. Thus spake the Schulmanator.

    Hester Is that the problem?

Joetropian1 lol... must be the problem. Maybe everyone is dreading being #6999 and is shying away. Or, maybe I drove everyone away. I promise I will do better! Come back... come back!!

Leech10 Nope! Ate them all. Great w/ teriyaki sauce!

    NMUSpidey Guilty as charged!

In Michigan, you can buy like a zillion different kinds of license plates. There are kids plates, wildlife plates, Mackinac Bridge plates, car plates, and college plates. The special ones donate the extra fee to whatever company/charity that sponsored the plate. I want to get an NMU plate when I return to the States...

I always assumed that other states had the same system.

Is there going to be any land for sale in that region? It's quite lovely and looks ready for further development. What do the feline residents say to more laps being available?

I for one would like to purchase about 10 acres.

Spidey, you took one for the team. Your sacrifice is duly noted...

Sir Leech, the honour is yours. We'll have to see about your new coat of arms and your appointment to the New Atkinos Council. Any preferences for your crest design?

    Up next, the S7K update...

LIVE! From Gran Maru, Atkinos District

    7k3gi2.jpg

Something different this time... awards for the many folks who helped shape my SC4 gameplay from the way it was pre-Simtropolis to the way it is today. This special event will be hosted in Gran Maru, Schulmania's largest city, and attended by hundreds of well-wishers who have come out to recognize all of those who helped Schulmania make improvements in all categories.

The Master of Ceremonies for today is Felix.

    cattophatyd7.jpg

Welcome, everyone, to today's ceremony. I am delighted to present awards to those who have helped Schulmania grow and prosper. Before I begin, allow me to take a look back at how The Schulmanator played Sim City before he joined Simtropolis...

Now, folks, this is just not up to Schulmania standards, is it? Not at all what you would have come to expect from The Schulmanator. Well, the transformation from crammed, griddy cities to Schulmania's old style sprawl was not easy. But, with the help of 2,000 plug ins and in addition to the STEX, change happens. And, with great inspiration all over the CJ section, many factors came together to help influence the development of Schulmania. Let's get to the awards.

Our first category is the Special Recognition Award. This is for those who have influenced the development of Schulmania. These are people who have given me inspiration for the design of cities and of landscapes. They also have influenced my development of extra features, such as newspapers, table of contents, and other features. A hearty congratulations is due for each winner.

    Our first winner...

    7k4aoq5.jpg

    JACQULINA!

As one can tell from the pictures before the first awards, I had never really embraced the concept of open space in a city. My goal was to cram as many Sims as possible into a city tile. I had 2.3 million in one large tile and had a good standard of living for them. But, it was not enough.

    serenityfalls4sep241202su9.jpg

Seeing pictures such as this one, I realized that open space, trees, water and greenery were integral parts of any real city and could be done beautifully and was a great use of space. The goal was not to build as BIG as possible - it was now to build as WELL as possible. It changed the way I play the game. Jacky was the first to offer me technical support on selection of terrain mods and specific downloads to help create a verdant landscape. Enjoy your award, Jacky... you deserve it!

    Our next winner..

Regrettably, this post was not backed up properly and was permanently truncated due to the cyber attacks of May 23, 2008.

Y'know, this comedy thing doesn't come easy. Sometimes I sit here and stare at the quick reply box for, what, like 2 or 3 whole minutes before something mildly funny pops into my head.

Really though, I'd like to thank Schulman for being so gracious as to recognize an untalented hack like me with a fantastic award. Many thanks also to Schulman (again, haha) and Hester and Joetropian1 and Leech10 and Abcvs for adding fuel to the fire of never-ending bad jokes that simply will not die. Oftentimes we find ourselves adrift, lost at sea. What was supposed to be a three hour tour- I mean a one-note-joke can morph into a long-running eye-roll fest in a flash of lightning. But, we funny people do our best to make everyone as comfortable as can be, despite living what amounts to jokes that are really as primitive as can be.

EDIT:  Oh yeah, I almost forgot.  Congratulations to all the other winners, too!  Everyone who visits makes it that much more enjoyable9.gif

Schulmy, this update i.e. Awards page, is awesome and they all so well deserve those awards. I have lurked in many a CJ. Sometimes they know, sometimes they don't but I have had the opportunity to see the Award Winner's personal CJ's many times and they are great! There are many many CJ's that bring me fun, pleasure in the composition and a big smile. Yours is certainly one of them. And frankly your newspapers have had me laughing every time.

Congratulations on 7k man...may you (and all the rest of the CJ creators) have a long, fulfilling and enjoyable time making the rest of us well entertained.
