Enjoying your photos and other stuff you show us about the real Edmonton.  I start getting jealous of your cemetaries, I think I'll install that cemetary pack of yours (I haven't yet because it takes up so many menu items, but I reckon it's worth it)!

Boobster : Looking good. Laying out Avenues is the easiest and most rewarding part. You can get a vast scale and good look starting off like that. Once you get into the smaller raods it takes time. How accuratly are you doing you version. I measure absolutly every road. I can see your curves are good....there are ways to get them smoother....a bit of a trade secret.

For anyone else. DavidHogan made a good cemetary pack and from his idea I made my own. If anyone wants me to I'll post mine which is a little diff and only includes 4 lots
    -Old Style Tombs
    -New Style Tombs
    -Fence Corner
    -Fence Straight
The paths are another small costum set of 3 I made.
I can release both if any want. Just ask on this thread and I'll post them on STEX on my 2 days off here.

i was thinking about making some fence lots on my own, but if you don't mind putting the whole package on the StEx i'd love the extra variety.

I've released two basic packs on the STEX after a few request.
    Edmonton Cemetery Pack
    Edmonton Trail Pack
Both are very basic. I like basic lots because they apply more often and can be used in more general ways. Plus when you get a mix of them you can create the beigger picture. I try to keep my menus small and this is a way I do it. Give them a try if you'd like.

Yah thx for the Cemetery Pack, now i can use it for the Evergreen Cemetery. Yah the avenues are the easist so far, I look foward to the challange of the curvey roads, I think Millwoods and St.Albert is going to be the hardest. Let me know if you need any help with the zoning in st.albert.1.gif

I've had some recent questions on MSN lately asking why I don't do Edmontons sarrounding communities. Most within 5 to 15 minutes of the city aren't to far in real life but to include them in the region is nearly impossible. I may include Sherwood Park one day...To the east of Edmonton. My map actually borders it perfectly.

Wow, a city with actual boundaries! In the US our cities just continue on and on along the highway in a never-ending sprawl. You can actually see where Edmonton ends and the rural areas begin.

Now if only the Oilers could play this season, Edmonton would be perfect.

    Sherbrooke
is a small area just south of the Yellowhead Trail and just north of Westmount. To its west is St. Albert Trail and to the east the City Center Airport. It is a smaller community among 100's in Edmonton. I'm not sure about other cities across the world but Edmonton has communities. Areas that have a few schools, community hall, its own park or two, and its own sports teams of all sorts. The borders are hard to define and they sorta just blend together threw out the city. Here are a few pictures of the area.

I just downloaded PhotoShop Demo. I've seen some nice work on other CJ's with this program and I wanted to do the same. I just played around with some options on it and labeled the city. Far from anything nice. Only new diff on this pic is I'm starting up Evergreen in the Northn East area. It should be done soon (road wise). Hopefully with photo shop I can make some great updates in the future but it seems to be able to do the extras you need to know the program.....guess I'll play with it some more 11.gif

    City Center Airport
I put together some region shots of the Airport. As I figure out how to do the small terminal and a few other area buildings I will post some up close pics. Its coming together in the region view with the 2 Airport packs in conjuction with eachother. The City Center Airport isn't used much. Mainly for regional flights and the Champ Car Edmonton Indy starting in 2005.

That is a great job you did on the airport. The most realistic on I have ever seen. The realism you put into this journal is incredible. Its an insperation. No I have to go and steal your idea for my city..opps, did I say that out loud.44.gif

Your work recreating Edmonton seems really realistic and very detailed. The general style of the suburbs are fascinating. Also, very good work on the airport, but I think that it looks an little emptty in the middle; maybe adding an small green zone or tarmac could make it look an little nicer, but if you are trying to recreate it exactly, discard that comment.
I also like our beautiful Canadian highways. You get going 140 KM/h; and you get an red light 14.gif

I am looking forward to more updates on this CJ soon.

Vigo : I would like to see your friends version if you can post it. Its Edmontons 13th Tallest building and stands out for its shape. It would be a good addition to the City.

Evergreen : I've finished all the roads in the extreme NE corner of the map along with another cemetery. This should be the last cemetery I post for a while since this is 3 of them already. This is basicly a rural area. A few farms, light bunches of trees, and a few homes.
