the only patch you need to register for is the nightlight one since it
has to do with the bat gamepack(only) it serves no other purpose.
The other 2 patches you do not need to register for.

registration(although in many ways is to get your info for advertising)
is a good way to show you legally purchased the game that's why they
do it & then you can get the fancy content,but it is good to have proof of
stuff for insurance reasons so it can be good for you to register your
game & games are getting more expensive so it's not bad to have it.

it really wouldn't work for movies very well so they wouldn't do it.

Could one of the lucky people who have succesfully completed product regristration take pity on us and upload the BAT nightlight patch? I have emailed EA many times and have had my emails returned. When they are returned the info says that the user doesn't exist. It really wasn't a good idea to restrict downloading patches. You can't use the patch in any way that would harm EA's sales or create pirated copies of the game. Also can anyone confirm if mailing EA or calling them works to get acccounts working?

Spartan968: You have to have permision from Maxis/EA to post any files from the simcity.ea.com site. Zelgadis has permission but since Mac have an issue with the nightlights, the update file is not posted on his site.

I think Dirk decided not to post the update files at ST.

I've got problems. I have downloaded things from SC4's website, now all of a sudden I haven't registered my code on the back of the CD case. I went through SC4 EZ or whatever it's called, and I registered there. It said 'EA is processing your request'. I haven't heard a single thing from 'em....and no...I didn't use Yahoo, or Hotmail, or Gmail....what is going on....EA certainly hasn't abandoned SimCity. They just made a Nintendo DS version of it. The PC/Mac version on the other hand....

I've never recieved my activation e-mail and it seems the ea support e-mail no longer exists. I need to get the BAT lighting patch, does anyone have any suggestions on how I could get the patch?

 I cant get the patch, because it wont let me register. Even after following all the advice here, and trying to contact the site admins of SC4...which I quickly learned was an impossible feat...I cannot join in. 

its sad, because none of my downloads have nightlights now, and I cant get some of the lots from their site.

As I stated in a few post back, Zelgadis doesn't have the SC4update4BAT.exe on his web site. So you are out of luck there.

I have tried that email address for tech support and it comes back undeliverable. I registered electronically and it is still coming up with the already in use or not valid for product key off of a game I bought on Saturday. I had to go to the EA tech support page and register for an EA account to try and take care of the situation.

When i try and do the first registration step, i get an error message saying : Trouble Sending Registration, You need an external connection to send this information....but i have a 2mb broadband connection! i even tried turning off any firewalls ive got running...any ideas?

One question: After you register or whatever using the electronic registration thing after installation, do you register AGAIN at the main EA site, or was the first post referring to the official SimCity4 site?

The official Sim city website is very inactive and it lied to me big time. The website said that they will give you technicial support, did I get any? NO, I can't even contact the technicial support because the dumb technicial support software that was with the Sim city 4 deluxe edition isn't responding at all. The EA company probaly installed the inactive techicial software so they don't have to deal with all the customer problems. They scammed me big time and now I really hate them now, I think EA company cares about their money, not their customers.

OK, i have a bit of a problem. I went on the website, got an account, was all happy-like, even downloaded Lot Editor. I had been looking BAT and was figuring out how to download it, then some "changes needed to be done to the computer. My account had been changed, along with my internet when i switched. about that time i had forgotten my password, so i always kept logged in. i went to work with just Lot Editor to make my thingys. Well, that was going ok until my computer needed to be cleaned out of a bajillion viruses. Well, following along with that, I was content until i found out about the price (!) and the circumstances. As it turned out, my computer had been completely cleaned of EVERYTHING, including almost all data. They had supposedly been reduced to (i still cant quite explain this) backups (which was not what i was told was to be done). I finally was able to access a few of these by uninstalling programs and reinstalling them. Well, also, during the computer cleanout, all my online passwords on all websites were un-logged-in. I couldn't reaccess the Simcity account with which my game ws registered, so i tried making a new account, but i got a bunch'a crap about "this registry no. is already registered" or something. So, being dumb because i was mad, i tried typing in something at random, and, of course, it didn't work. So i quit trying. Every once in a while i'll go to that -(insert many, many, many, many explicit words here)- website and try a password, but i still can't get it!!!!!

BTW, tech support is useless. They are of little or no help (this post was not meant to in any way influence another person's views of that site).

Stupid AOL... can't believe I registered while I had AOL (pfft who uses that now?) and since that was four years ago, I don't remember my EA password and all the emails are sent to my now defunct and inaccessible account...

I have to say that I sincerely hate the way they set up product registration for this game.  Years after originally registering the game I cannot access the god foresaken simcity 4 web site to download the files because I cannot recall my log in name and email address for that account.  It tells me my product code has already been registered and still won't let me associate that registration with a new account on the web site.  And tech support, no luck there, those SOB's haven't even responded to the dozen or so emails I have sent.  At this point I would say that they can go to hell if they ever expect me to buy a new game from them.

You know what, I am just going to sue the f&^%*ers in small claims court.  I paid for their product, they are still a viable earning company, and there was no Date Of Expiration for tech support in any of the documentation that I have for the game.  ALL of my emails are bounced back to me, and well that just really miffs me.  So ya, I will spend the $40.00 bucks to sue EA Games and Maxis for Consumer Fraud and breech of obligation for the full replacement value of the game times 500%.

I will win too.  They won't even send a lawyer to fight it.  Then I will have a judgment against them, and proceed with collection activity.

Hey all,Im quite new here,sorry if Im interupting anything but. . .Last week I downloaded around 30 BATs for my new downtown development project anyway,the lights were not showing at night and I read the tutorial on how to make it work.I tried to register on simcity.com but was saying my serial was invalid,I tried a thousand times but the same message popped up.And all this frustration leads to what I want to ask,but before anyone starts cursing me,or tell I have a nerve to even ask,kindly read to the end of the post!Please would anyone email me their username and password to simcity.com,for the soul purpose of downloading the BAT,sc4 ep1 update,and the BAT update,I promise no funny buisness and never again to use your account after what I've downloaded and would certainly not post it on some forum that I can promise.
