Things are starting to look good. I was able to cut and export the LODs in two sets and I have succesfully rendered the southern half of the stadium. I will have to make them as props and there is a downside to this: zoom level 1 (furthest) will not be visible, but I guess that's not much of an issue (does anyone even play at that level?).

Anyway, here are two in-game pics:

I'm trying to render the second part tomorrow.

scba: It's a custom designed baseball stadium, not much to tell about it at the moment.

I actually kind of started Toyota Center few weeks ago. I only made part of the roof (in like ten minutes) and I haven't touched it since then, but it's lying on my hard drive and I may continue it if I haven't got anything better to do.

i'm not sure i understand why you wouldn't be able to see a prop at zoom level 1....when you create the prop in the plug-in manager you should change the appearance zoom tab under the advanced tab so that it reads 1,2,3,4,5...(the default is 2,3,4,5, which would explain why the prop disappears at zoom 1 if you didn't change this setting). It should then show up for you....

the Totota center roof looks great btw.

yoder7652: Wow, I never noticed that! Maybe because I have never made props before. Thanks!

Edit: Well, error code 10 was waiting for me when I got home. The graphichs were also somewhat messed up in the south view but I think I know what is causing this so I'm not overly concerned about it. Have patience, rendering this monster takes a while (it took 9 hours to render just the southern half) and now I'll have to render at least three models + export three sets of LODs.

At the moment zoom 5 east is the only view that works correctly.

Hm... I've got my fingers crossed for you that you don't encounter any more rendering errors!

Also, I just saw this stadium yesterday!

I'm from Cincy and let me tell ya this is amazing. Feels like I'm downtown, only thing missing is Great American Ballpark (not a request ha ha). Can't wait to see this and the Toyota Center. Your SafeCo Field looks great. I'm obsessed with stadiums too it's just that I'm not to good with the whole BATing thing.

    He was having rendering problems...

Hopefully they got addressed. I was really looking forward to a solid football (American) stadium.

    Back from dead!

People, I don't know when or if Paul Brown Stadium will be released. It's such a mess that it's downright annoying to work with.

In the meanwhile, I have been modelling the home of the Houston Astros - Minute Maid Park. I just need to figure out what's wrong with my lightning rig (I'm using Mental Ray now so I need a custom rig and at the moment it's not working properly), add some nightlights and fix a couple of small details and hopefully it can be released then. Here's an ingame pic. Click on it to see a zoom 5 shot!

Actually that would not be too hard to do, making a closed version. Render two versions as props, and set time dates like seasonal parks. Love this stadium, ive been here a few times, and my cousins got to see the astros play in the playoffs 2005

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! I've been watching this thread for a long time thinking that Paul Brown Stadium will be the greatest stadium SC4 has ever seen. This really says something seen as I'm Irish and have never even seen an American Football Match. I'm very sad 15.gif Minute Maid Park looks very nice though 1.gif

Awesome, its the juice box lol. You even did the train! roof is kinda clean though, for a while it was growing mold lol

I was there last to see an astros-brewers game

you oughta be really assertive and pushy this time when it comes to the STEX thing, hopefully we'll see it available on ST and not a somewhat hidden download link known only by a select number of forumers

The Giants are my favorite team, so that would be awesome!  I wonder if you could make it like a seaport, because the real one does extend into the cove.

Minute Maid Park looks excellent.  Keep up the great work.

That hasn't been proven yet!!! Anyway, how about a larger baseball complex like PetCo Park in SD? It has condos and a park attached to it. Would . . . be . . . awesome . . . TopCliff

The problem with ballparks such as AT&T Park or Petco Park is the way they are aligned in the lot. In SimCity we are practically restricted to square-like lots so recreating such ballparks would involve a lot of improvisation which would take a lot of time and probably wouldn't even look very good.

hamsterTK: The roof texture is taken from actual photos of the real one. Go check it out at maps.live.com and you'll notice certain similarities. 1.gif

beautiful! simply stunning! good luck with pb and the lighting on the juice box...it would be a shame to see such effort in such a beautiful creation go to waste. an easy park to lot is the ballpark in arlington...its on a rectangular lot. lol.

25.gif Wow that baseball stadium looks incredible teemu_om!  Honestly are you an architect or something, because this looks almost proffessional quality!  I'll certainly be saving room in my downtown for this beauty.  Great work and good luck with finishing it up!

BTW, were you ever able to overcome the problems with the Bengals stadium?  I've been looking forward to that one for quite awhile, as there really isn't an adequet NFL sized stadium on the STEX.

I second that. 3.gif It could be made as a water lot, which might help with fitting the model to a lot.
