Damn this looks amazing, I can't wait to download it. I can't figure out how to draw a line in 3ds so i have no clue how you did that. Also do you any future projects planned after this?

@ teemu_om: Could you make the field blank please?

Instead of a blank field, how about in the middle the NFL logo, with AFC on one end zone and NFC on the other.

Some information on Paul Brown Stadium:

While the stadium is (supposed to be) an accurate recreation of the real thing, I'm going to have to make some adjustments to the park areas surrounding the stadium due to square-like orientation of the lots in Sim City 4. But I guess you expected this, though. Also, I just made some measurements and the lot is going to be HUGE: no less than 20x21!

wow teemu thats massive! Ill be keeping an eye on your stadium progress for I will add it with my safeco field when i redevelop my city. i have a suggestion as to what u could add around the stadium. perhaps u can add trees n stuff and some mini venues and some cars n ppl that are tailgating hehe kinda adds to the realism to pregame parties around the stadium

i agree, I think blank would be...well...too blank!

NFL logo in the middle for sure and the NFC and AFC on there too somewhere.

    Can't wait to see it!

    Also what a huge lot!

    ^^

A lot of people would want to keep it for thier own leagues, though. A logo would make it look silly.

hey teemu, perhaps ya should add a subway station connection on one corner of the stadium if you know how to do that as an added speciality like u did with the rail and glr track connection, even a small bus station would work

amazing! love the plants. i was wondering if you could tell me how to make the train tracks on my BAT transit enabled. All i get is that you open it up in SC4 tool and go 2 transit enable.

I don't have the SC4 Tool installed at the moment so I can't remember, but I think it was quite simple. Basically you just select what kind of traffic you want to allow through your lot, select the direction of traffic and then just click the squares where your train tracks are. TE editor don't show your textures though (if I remember right) so you have to check where your train tracks are first.

Lord, that thing is beautiful!!!! 9.gif

I especially love the trees around the perimeter- shows a little environmental awareness in the lot. 3.gif And it's so beautifully shaped too. Reminds me a bit of the structure of a hurricane. 4.gif

Can't wait until this is released!

    HELP NEEDED!

The model is 99% finished, meaning that I just need to adjust some details, BUT! I have a problem. Gmax is giving me the error code 6 when I try to render the LODs. I tried with smaller LODs and it worked so it seems to be because of the size (the building is about 20x20). Now I could scale the building down, but I would hate to do that as the whole point is to create a realistic sized stadium.

I would really appreciate if anyone with gmax could try to render the LODs for me. I have attached them to this post.

Couldn't you break the building into pieces and render them as props before atatching them back together in the Lot Editor?

I'm sure that is what was done with the Beijing 2008 Olympic Stadium.

I got exactly that error too. Good luck with it. SystemUK's idea sound a good plan, but possibly tricky to work.

Damn. I was planning to release it in a couple of days, but unless someone can get it work I guess I'll have to try what SystemUK suggested. Is there an easy way to split a model in two pieces?

Hey, Teemu_om. I tried to export the LODs for you, but i got the same error 6 as well. the problem not just happen at your end, so i think the lod is just too big. the only way to resolve it is just to export it into different parts. it is what i did with my SWFC, and it is very easy.

Yeah, take the original LOD, convert it into an editable polygon (if it isn't already, I forget what the conversion does), and then make it smaller so that it's 1/4th the size of the old one (5x5).

Then do this for the other corners, making sure that the LODs overlap for all of them.

From how the LODs and .FSH files and stuff work, this should work out ok.  The only problem could be that the programs align the .FSH files according to the LOD and not the position in the scene, but I don't really know.  I think it should work fine.

This way you don't need to cut the model up trying to separate it.  I don't know if you were ever planning on separating it, but I've seen people spend a lot of time dividing and aligning things when it probably isn't nescssayr.

    And it's looking great! 44.gif

Yeah, I actually divided the LODs in four pieces this morning and left the NE corner to render. I'll see how the first part turned out when I get home. I didn't touch the model.

It didn't. I got the error code 6 in MAX as well, I tried to delete most of the objects but it only rendered the zoom 5 south day view and then stopped and displayed this error. I also tried without nightlights, but that didn't work out either. The only thing I was able to render was that giant Pepsi bottle at the NE corner. I have one trick up my sleeve, but if it doesn't work out, I don't know what I'm going to do.

Sorry for being quiet lately. I'm having a high fever (flu) for the fifth day in a row so I just pretty much sleep all the time. I will try some things with the stadium, but not now.
