  7. The Capital of the World!

ulaanbaatarquote> Wasnt it the mongol capital during their heyday? good pick since it practically already has experince at being the capital of the entire world
  8. The Capital of the World!

EDIT: hamsterTK: Lagos is the capital of Nigeria.quote> Lagos is the largest city in Nigeria, but its no longer is capital. That would be abuja. Lagos however is a massive city growing at a spectacular rate. The city has gone from 1 million in the 70's to 10-15 million today (since Nigeria has no way to do census' there is no way anyone will know the exact population is until Nigeria can get its stuff together which may very well be centuries). Estimates show that the city could have a population of 20-30 million by 2025. It has terrible infastructure, terrible quality of life, and will overtake calcutta as the synonym for disastrous urban planning. I wouldnt give Lagos my vote for world capital for 100's of years
  9. The Capital of the World!

Thats what switzerland wants, they've been planning to become the worlds capital for centruies now, cant anyone see this. Its a massive Swiss conspiracy
  10. Originally posted by: LivingInThePast I'll try to get some photos up, but I can't upload anything on this site for some reason! The next time I go up to Bryan, Riverside Campus, or Waco, I'll get some pictures. So, I have one example that is not mine, but I'll get some more up. It is from Texas though! See, I'm considering creating a simple MOD called "Abandoned Railroad Lots" that add realism and oldness to your cities. I'm drawing up sketches and will scan in soon... I know there's great ones in an Alabama military base, Panama City Florida, Waco, Colorado, and if you look in Orlando, there is a strip of grass where a railroad ran parallel. So please post pictures.quote> Question you reffered to riverside campus and Bryan, are you an Aggie?

  13. Show us your most unique and creative transportation network!

Heres a couple of Pics from the transportation network of my new city, Los Cielos (CJ coming soon???) https://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l8/dahawk_2006/LosCielosD.png This is US 18 running East-West through downtown Los Cielos. This particular section is called Redwood Expressway due to the number of Redwood trees planted by the city that line the freeway. https://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l8/dahawk_2006/LosCielosC.png This is a section of sunken highway US 34 that runs North-South through downtaon Los Cielos. In the foreground you can see Los Cielos Park, the big park of downtown Los Cielos https://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l8/dahawk_2006/LosCielosB.png This is another section of US 34 in a more dense section of Los Cielos. You can also see Redwood Stadium in the backround, home to the Los Cielos Coyotes MLB team. https://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l8/dahawk_2006/LosCielosA.png This is the big interchange area of Los Cielos (and the area that splits downtown into two distinct east and west halves). You can see sunken Highway 34 in the rear of the pic and raised State Highway 731 (the diagonal one) in the foreground. Crossing both of them is US 18. https://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l8/dahawk_2006/BajaNorteMountainsA.jpg Not much development out here (not even the same city as downtown Los Cielos) but I found it cool nonetheless. This is the Union Ridge Tunnel which crosses the Baja Norte Mountains. To the left of the tunnel is the Davis Canyon and Davis Falls. I dont have much development in the rest of the city and the transport system is pretty basic elsewhere. For those of you wondering Los Cielos means "The Heavens" in Spanish and the rival to Californias Los Angeles. Los Cielos lies on a fictional US island (Baja Pacifica), off the coast of Mexico. When I get around to my CJ when I'm done with this city (which wont be for some time). There will be more actual city shots and backround info.
  14. Thanks for the advice everyone, I guess i'm gonna try and see if I can get the 512 GB if not more RAM, that pretty much seems to be the consensus. I actually have a new computer on the way, but I'm taking that to college and i'm not putting any games or junk on it, espeically how sim city 4 and the plug ins crashed my computer for no apparent reason last time. If i get thinks working I'll let yall know, I have some great city ideas and was really hoping to put out a cj before i left for college, we'll just have to see how things turn out with the performance, once again though, thanks for the advice
