I found myself reinstalling SimCity 4 during lockdown and whilst digging out my old plugins, I have found a handful of nearly complete BATs from many years ago, when I used to be more active. This is one of those. Whilst it's not 100% the final product I had originally intended (I was never happy with the lot surrounding the main structure, or the nightlighting), I think it's good enough to share in the hope that somebody finds it useful in some way. This is a velodrome, based on the velodrome in Athens used in the 2004 Summer Olympics. There's no obvious cycle references though, so you can use your imagination and pretend all sorts of things could be under the roof. The velodrome has nightlights, as shown in the screenshots. Stats: Size= 7x8 Build Cost= 5000 Maintenance Cost= 125 Bulldoze Cost= 250 Power Consumed= 25 Water Consumed= 25 No dependencies. -

Whilst it's not 100% the final product I had originally intended (personally, I think this stadium is a bit too grey), I think it's good enough to share in the hope that somebody finds it useful in some way. This is a small sized stadium based on Stadion Brühl in Grenchen, Switzerland. Yesterday I uploaded the same BAT but with a rugby pitch layout; this has a football pitch, the sport usually played at the real-life stadium. The pitch has nightlights, as shown in the screenshots. A football version should be released in the next few days. Many thanks to timo for the rugby pitch texture and goalposts. The pitch has nightlights, as shown in the screenshots. Stats: Size= 5x7 Build Cost= 5000 Maintenance Cost= 100 Bulldoze Cost= 500 Power Consumed= 100 Water Consumed= 50 No dependencies as timo's rugby pitch and posts are incorporated into the model. -
Thanks @T Wrecks, it's good to be back and it's great to see Simtropolis still going! I'm enjoying playing again and have already got a small region underway. I don't think I'll ever get back to BATting though, I just don't have the time that I used to. With a bit of luck I might be able to clean up more unfinished works though.

This is one of those. Whilst it's not 100% the final product I had originally intended (hence, it was never released), I think it's good enough to share in the hope that somebody finds it useful in some way. This is the next (and almost certainly final) in my series of small (association) football grounds. The stand here is based on one at Colovray Sports Centre in Nyon, Switzerland. The intention of this ground is to give something more than just a football pitch if you want a small team in your SC4 town or village. The lot is 3x5 but the stand overhangs. This is done, as the stand is relatively small so it seemed a waste to make it take up 5 extra tiles. You could put small car parks in the corner, or whatever takes your fancy. The stand itself has no nightlights, but the pitch is lit up with the base game soccer field lighting. The base game soccer field players are also present. Stats: Build Cost= 700 Maintenance Cost= 50 Bulldoze Cost= 125 Power Consumed= 10 Water Consumed= 20 No dependencies -
@Xylo: Yeah, texturing's always been my downfall, and at closer zooms you can notice the astroturf (not grass!) repeating. That said, it's not unheard of to have patterns in astroturf, as you might with mown grass, and this can vaguely pass of as that. If anyone can find a better texture I'd be happy to switch them though!

Okay, so it's been a while (3 years), but I've come back to BAT to try and finish off some old projects. First up is this astroturf pitch. It has markings for both field hockey (in white) and association football (in yellow) as is reasonably common for these types of pitches. In this case, hockey goals are in place. The lot is 3x5, the same as the Maxis soccer field. It has nightlighting as evidenced in the screenshot. Stats: Build Cost= 400 Maintenance Cost= 30 Bulldoze Cost= 150 Power Consumed= 10 Any problems, post in the comments, or PM me. I don't play SC4 any more, so haven't been able to rigorously test this. I hope someone finds this useful in some way PS. Hockey and football in the title refer to the British meanings of those words. If you're American and don't like that, get over it -
Okay, so I've mentioned this in my BAT thread, but I may as well try here too. I've created a velodrome BAT, and whilst I'm happy with the model, I've no idea where to start with Lotting it. I'm happy to pass on the model to someone (we'd need to consult about whether it comes with a base or not) if they can Lot it well. If it's good we can work something out for uploading it to the STEX.

Right, I appreciate I'm resurrecting a long dead thread, but since it's my thread, hopefully you won't get too mad I abandoned BATting for quite a while as RL took over, and I'm still rather busy, but I'd quite like to finish of some of my old projects, so the effort I put in then hasn't gone to waste. Not all of these will get finished still (hopefully a couple will), so I'd like some comments on which you think we be most useful in the game, and which look best in their current state. It's quite a few pictures, please bear with them! 1. One I've had sitting around for a while. In my opinion it just needs some texture work, particularly on the roof, and then decent Lotting. 2. One I was on the verge of releasing a couple of years ago. I'm quite happy with it as a whole, any thoughts? 3. This started off as one thing, headed towards another, and now looks like this. Needs a lot of work that I can see, but I haven't seen many stadiums for SC4 which are of this intermediate size. 4. This was actually a personal project, but I quite like the current status. Needs a bit of work, but is a compact-ish small athletics stadium. 5. Hockey! I'm looking to render and release this soon. An artificial pitch- no more, no less. 6. GLR station, which was finished, but I had trouble transit enabling it, and eventually gave up. Anyone care to help out? 7. Another small stadium. I quite like the stand design, although it still needs some work (seats!), and then Lotting, which could take a bit. 8. If I dare say so, I love how this BAT came out. However, once I had the main canopy and supports done, I was (and still am) stumped as to what to put around it. Anyone want to do a Lotting job on it? 9. Finally a throwaway project on roofing/my local area. It;s a clock tower, which I may try to complete and Lot at some point. So... these are what I have. Any strike people as definitely worth finishing/deleting? All comments are welcomed and will be appreciated!

As Zel says, you can see a paramedic around 2:50 (green uniform w/fluorescent), and even the ambulance (I think it is) at the top of the screen (Blue star on bonnet). There's also a video of this on the BBC website which mentions that one was jailed for 1 day for assault, and the other was released from hospital after 7 weeks (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7636577.stm maybe UK only?). Shockingly paltry punishment.
