@Sloppet: It was late and I did it quick on my laptop, using the trackpad, so index finger was my only tool....also, I was using Photoshop while you were still colouring with crayons not so nooobish you see.

Im just now seeing this thread for the 1st time, ive been missing out! I cant stop laughing, looking at all those great pictures. 

Ive driven a couple of those "gravel roads" in my travels. The scariest drop off ive ever seen, is riding on the bus (old school busses) through Denali Park in Alaska. Those tall trees would be tiny dots, looking off the nearly vertical cliffs. The busses come inches from the edge too.

But hey, if you guys went to visit the setting of "Northern Exposure", you should've stopped by the site of "Twin Peaks", too. North Bend, by Snoqualmie, is an awesome little town, home to Twede's cafe, which is famopus for its "Twin Peaks" cherry pie, and "a damn fine cup of Joe."

As for those gravel back roads, you haven't had fun until you've driven up the ones near the Denny Creek exit. Not only do you get to cross under some old railroad tressels, but when I went up one, we got high enough that I saw a Ptarmigan at the side of the road. i hadn't even had the idea those things lived in Washington...

Also, you can go and hike an old rail trail, complete with a four-mile hikeable tunnel, that's always fun.

But anyways, i hope you guys all had fun up here, and I hope you'll visit again.

It never occurred to me to brush up on old TV shows in preparation for this trip.   We did see the "Twin Peaks" mountains and we were in North Bend by Snoqualmie (as seen by the Ken's . . . I mean Dirk's . . . Restaurant pic).  

After we went to Snoqualmie Falls, we stopped at a sub shop that was obviously not around during the Twin Peaks days.  It was like a Subway, only it wasn't, and was part of new "town center" that looked like it was built (or at least designed) by the same people who design such things out here.  Not at all like the small town of Rosslyn which has obviously been around since before my parents were born.

Fairlane, I'm surprised you haven't found this display that we wrote on:

LOL. Well, it isn't totally obvious because many of the nation-wide chain stores have the same floor tileing. So you start guessing on many stores that are nation-wide chains. But after a few unsuccessful guesses, I guessed right. You really don't have to think outside the box on this one.

Plus, I tend to like this display better...

It tends to make the answer to where this place is a whole lot easier.

I went online an searched both 'Office depot' and 'Office Max' main websites. 'Office Depot' sold 'creative' items and 'Office Max' does not. Now looking at how close DuskTrooper is, I would say it is one of the two he said. So, I think it is 'Office Depot' that you are in. If I am right, the credit should still go to Dusktrooper.

SkiGeek: I'm wondering if that was the Blimpie out in north bend, there's the whole outlet mall built right off the freeway that is a weekend destination for some good bargains.

But yeah, the tunnel (actually 2.3 miles, I wasn't sure) is an old rail tunnel on what used to be the "Milwaukee Road." After being abandoned by the rail company in 1980, it has become a cross-state rail trail. Also of particular interest on the Pass stretch are the many high tressels you cross over along the way.
