Nathanthemayor: Very nice! May I ask what effect you used to get your region to look like that?

I used this tutorial here.

Here is my Region called Carson-Oceanside Metropolitanian Area

Sorry the other post wasn't to deatiled

Dimensions

24x24 Large Cities

about 6 times bigger than Timbuktu Region in Simcity4

and i think i bit bigger than Omega Region

Current Population: about 7 785 345 inhabitans

Population Goal: 100 000 000 inhabitans

Of course not the best region ever, since is in construction i think i am about 15% done

but when is done it would be an amazing region

I present you my region, Río Platino (name finally decided--I didn't expect this side region to become my main current region). These images here show it just when it reached the 1,000,000 sims:

Here's the satellite view (~14 x ~18 km)

Reginamplia03.jpg

And here's the transport map:

Reginampliatransporte03.jpg

This region is now the most populous I've made.. It does have the best structure so far, both in geographic, transport and urban anatomy terms. Some particularities it has include:

- Least freeway density in any of my regions

- Most extensive mass transit in any of my regions

- Most extensive suburban sprawl

- Largest city center

- Most extensive agriculture

- Most coherent geography

- Least amount of regional traffic (other than commuter loops, unfortunately)

For some reason it already feels complete, even if it still needs development in the two big tiles to the northwest.

CPT Italia Terrain Mod from the lex: https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1527

PEG brigantine water mod: http://www.simpeg.com/forum/index.php?action=downloads;cat=26

The rest of my mods follow loosely to CSGdesign's: https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?PHPSESSID=5ad1b332629347fbc1417321be52ca4f&topic=9440.msg303337#msg303337

This region just got to 400k, so I felt I might as well put it here. Most of that (200k) is in that central city, though.

I'm going to expand onto the rest of the island/peninsula, then fill out the lowlands before moving upwards. Not sure how populous this region will end up, though.

Futurist, I love how the changes in density are visible from region view and how the more denser areas stick to the

arterial roads. Also, I see that you're from Houston, are the winding river and the bay somewhat based on it?

I'm just asking because I also once had a project where I based my region on greater Houston. Anyways,

I like it, keep going!

Would anyone like to see the overhauled Río Platino Metropolitan Area? The big change here is the terrain mod--instead of the default Maxis terrain, I have a dense jungle terrain. Also, I've started to expand the built-up and cultivated land some more. As for the future plans, it's working on the coastal large tile that remains untouched; while also adding continuity to the urban area around the city center.

This is the full regional view (composite image):

ReginAmplia02.jpg

This here is its corresponding transport view:

ReginAmpliaTransporte02.jpg

And here are close-ups of the west and east sides of it:

Oh dear, so many farms for so few Sims :O . This is the reason of why I always use the Pegasus Skyfarms ;)

"If you try to please everybody, you often times end up pleasing nobody, especially yourself. When somebody offers to do a favor for free, like making a mod for SimCity 4, you shouldn't be overly critical of something generously given to you. In other words, you shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth." - Twilight Sparkle after playing SimCity

"Being a mayor or a content creator for SimCity 4 is a heavy responsibility, Patrick. Each city and each custom content is like a child, and must be treated as such." - SpongeBob Squarepants after playing SimCity

This is my region of Waffle world, Ive been developing this for over a year now. I used a 6X6 avenue grid with just bus stations to achieve cities of over 1million, its very possible indeed. The only mod/cheat ive used is the You don't deserve it and the Bat Bank so i could prebuild my cities and speed up this process. Even though the region has about 7million sims, its very incomplete! I hope to finish it before the release of sim city 5 in 2013.

Who said Grids are ugly? I have to admit though this does become very tedious after awhile. Each large city is connected with 4 medium cities and 8 small cities so it creates a nice pattern for region development. I might try and develope a few of these cities with different designs and perhaps zoning in the future so i can contiue to try and be creative while maximising my cities popultation. Enjoy the images!
