I'm just wondering how many people here use MSN.

PLEASE NOTE I'M NOT ASKING YOU FOR YOUR ADDRESSES, SO DON'T POST THEM! I'M TRUSTING THE MODERATORS ON THIS ONE...

Personally, I use it all the time. I live in a town (pop. ~25,000) surrounded by the countryside and many small towns/villages (pop. ~500 each) so this is the best way to communicate with all my friends at the same time, especially since it's free.

Yes.  We use it all the time to keep in touch with our son (London, Ontario) and daughter (Toronto).  We live in Wasaga Beach, Ontario.  MSN privides us with video phone service to them for free (after hardware purchases).

Yes I have it and probably use it far to much. It is also the only IM I use apart from Skype which is for ST Cast use only.

I was nervous about using IM's until SkiGeek convinced that they really weren't the source of all evil.18.gif  (I currently use MSN).

It was an interesting conversation.

We can inspire others through witness so that one grows together in communicating. But the worst thing of all is religious proselytism, which paralyzes: “I am talking with you in order to persuade you.” No. Each person dialogues, starting with his and her own identity. The church grows by attraction, not proselytizing.    - Pope Francis

Anyway, I use GAIM, which is a multiple IM client (like Trillian) So whenever I am online I sign into AIM and MSN.

Instant messaging... one of the most (yes Duke I bleeped it 21.gif) annoying pieces of software ever concieved. 28.gif

Seriously, if I'm on my computer, chances are I don't want to be bothered. It's especially annoying when people contact me just so say "Hi 'sup?" and without anything meaningful to say. You don't start a thread like that here (or anywhere), because chances are it's gonna go nowhere. For the same reason, you don't call, IM, or Email someone just to say "hi". You'd better have something to say because I have no interest in chatting about nonsense, especially when I'm in the middle of doing something else.

If I know you IRL, you can use the phone if you absolutely must talk to me. If I don't, chances are I don't care enough to talk with you just because you wanna talk with someone.

So no, I don't use MSN (or any such program). And if Windows allowed it, I would have removed it from my hard drive long ago.

I have had AIM for two years too long... I have 300 on there and I don't talk to a single one of them anymore...

Anyways, MSN is more reliable and I like a lot of their features even though I wish they had a profile on there, but I guess that's what MySpace is for... lol. I guess the only real chat I use anymore is Simtropolis's chat-room.

I use MSN (mainly just to get in Ski's hair).3.gif  Nah, I actually do use if for constructive purposes.

@Joesocwork:  You weren't the only one who thought that IM clients were the source of all evil.  I started using MSN and in the back of my mind I was thinking, Five weeks and the machine will be riddled with spyware.  So far, SkiGeek has kept my machine squeaky clean.3.gif

Oh man you make me laugh sooo much! How conceited a post is that? You really consider yourself too important to talk to, don't you? Whatever happened to people just saying "Hi, hows it going?".....People with friends do that, and IM makes it easier...I pity you and your lonely existence. So everyone, if Duke87 doesn't want to be bothered, we should leave him alone and not post in or answer any of his threads.

MSN, but I also have Skype and Google Talk installed. I use MSN all the time, and sometimes Skype (I prefer the audio over Skype than over MSN), and I never use Google Talk.

MSN, Yahoo but I rarely use the first and havn't used the latter in eons.  Its not so much an annoyance when people just say "Hi, whats up?" it just gets annoying when people take the whole IM thing way too seriously, but how you use MSN is none of my business lol.

Thats the only messenger I use. I like to use it instead of the phone I hate calling people.

“The American city should be a collection of communities where every member has a right to belong. It should be a place where every man feels safe on his streets and in the house of his friends. It should be a place where each individual's dignity and self-respect is strengthened by the respect and affection of his neighbors. It should be a place where each of us can find the satisfaction and warmth which comes from being a member of the community of man. This is what man sought at the dawn of civilization. It is what we seek today.”

I use the Windows Live Messenger and i think it is a lot better than msn messenger 7.5, i started using in it in its beta stage when it wasn't known that much.

MSN is free, easy to use and you can personalise it in so many different ways. brilliant!

I finally got MSN some time last winter. All of my friends from high school use Yahoo and so have been I for many years, but when I went to college all of them use MSN. I eventually got it and still much prefer Yahoo.
