Palmetto Islands looks cool...Good Job!

I am working on Jaquilina's request...looking for a good pic to use...she (he?)did not have a favorite, so I'm scouting for a good composition that will fill the frame and look good as a map.  Some pictures just don't work out as good maps...my release date is Tuesday...we'll see...I have to work tommorrow, maybe next tuesday, I don't know

Thanks everyone for the compliments on Palmetto Islands. My next map, my final one (Probably, unless I take a request) until next Monday, has been released. It is Burlington, VT. It was pretty easy to make, and just needed some touch-ups in the Landscape Designer. It's fairly close to accurate scale.

Next Monday, I plan on releasing tougher to make maps. Probably Atlantic City, NJ and maybe a map using Alaskan DEMs, or if not, another fantasy map.

Everyone here is doing a great job! If we keep this up, the MAPP Squad will be a famous name among Simtropolites to come!

EDIT: I see we now have our own spot in the SimCity 4 Custom Content: The OFFICIAL MAPP SQUAD BOARD ROOM!!!

We've got our own forums! Nice! Many thanks to those who rewarded us with this new forum! It's awesome.

I think we should each start our own thread here, for our own Mapp Squad maps. For example, I'll have one, Mallow will have one, TNS will have one, etc.

I also think we could extend the request thread into separate threads: Maybe one for U.S. maps, one for Non U.S. real world maps, and one for fantasy maps. Just a suggestion.

Alright guys, here's the link for the new thread where you show hou you use Mapp Squad maps! My pics will be up later today, but if you have a region you want to show off, feel free to post some pics! There's nothing there yet, please help get it started! And, since it was your idea comdude, PM TNS with your suggestion, and maybe it will happen. I'd love to see seperate request threads, but that's just me. Great work guys! And congratulations to BarbulaM1 for getting mod status for the forums!

RHF: I haven't gotten around to developing my maps yet, but I'll probably get to it eventually. I think the separate request threads are a good idea. However, I just saw Mallow's updated list of requests that haven't been filled yet, and we're a bit backed up right now.

I think I'm going to go ahead and make a thread for my own maps, I don't think TNS will mind. I think that the other squad members should also post their own threads for their maps.

Thanks to Andy80586's wonderful mod, which I didn't even find until now, I can now use greyscale bmp files to import much larger mountains!!!

I think I am going to update ALL my maps to be more accurate heightwise... this is definately going to take a few days.

And the other problem is that anybody who renders a map by me in the future will have to have the mod. If the mod is required for a map, I will post a link to it there.

Anyway, I have attached the file to this post just in case others would like to see the possibilities of it.

Not that I know of... I might try and see what close does... since I'm going to be updating it anyway.

EDIT: About comdude's idea, I think it's a good idea.... what do you all think?

I don't think it's possible to change the filename on the STEX.

Like I said before, I plan on releasing a thread for discussion and information regarding my Mapp Squad maps. Does anyone else think this is a good idea? Thanks.

Now you know what I meant when I said we'd get even more organized.

There is still more to be done and you will see things get more organized everyday. Barb and I will be working together on keeping this a great place for people to discuss maps.

I think the only thing left to do now is transfer the Official Map Release Schedule over to this forum. I don't know if Barbula or one or the other mods could transfer it, or if you could just make the same thread just in this forum.

I looked into the option of changing our map file names, and it doesn't look easy.  You can't just do it yourself...we need help up the ladder somewhere...Radiohead?  our consiglieri ?

now...I have to find some time to actually PLAY sim city...keeping up with forums and map duties has cut into my playing time

and there are all those great lots and BATs if been miising because the MEX was flooded with mapps!

The map I'm working on for Saturday is Washington, DC. It will be a 40x35 map, and should be extremely accurate. It's originally from a request, but I planned on making my own anyways. So that one should be done for Saturday.
