I prefer 'MAPP Squad' (as frogface said) and it is a good idea now we will need of a forum if the team grows...

Ok, I just posted in that thread some testing I did today and came out with a way to only have one mod file for all accurate regions made for the game.  I think it will work as I tested all day to get all the numbers close.  With that, I believe it will change map making and make all the maps on the MEX obsolete due to the change in the greyscale colors.  So Aronion or Dirk, with all that now possible to the maps, I was thinking if we could have some sort of designation so when people eventually download will know to have the mod or not.  I say the mod is in testing so the changes are not needed right now.  What do you think???

Just reviving the idea of MAP(P) Squad here. I'm definitely interested. I have a list upward of 100 locations that I'm going through. I only create accurate maps at SC4 scale. Contact me if anyone is interested.

I think this is a great idea. If the mapp qquad is going to be like the batt squad, and the modd squad, I suppose you will have to contact one of the admins for it to be listed in the staff section. ext.

I have started a database of maps that i've worked on, and ones i want to make. This database can be shared so information on data resource can be exchanged. Like where one can get good DEM, SRTM reference for a certain location.

Cool idea. I have started this too. I have about 50 maps I need to make. They will soon be available on the STEX!

 

Anyone that wants a map made personally for them, please request in this thread also.

Woohoo! As you can see, I linked my signature image to this thread. So... I'm going over to my friend's place today, but the first map from me should be Sunday or Monday, and it will be a fantasy one (Duthford).

Hmmm...I can't make maps of real world places using DEMs or anything like that. But I could make some handmade maps, using the in-game tools (High precision) and maybe greyscales. I can make realistic looking fictional maps. Check out my CJs if you want to see what kind of maps I can make. A link to my CJ is in my sig, but I have made a lot of other maps for my past CJs as well. Try doing a search for Tropicale in the forums, my older CJ. The other CJs are too old and their images are long gone, but I can show you if you're interested in those maps too.

So if possible, please count me in! Thanks.
