Thanks for the replies so far ... I have been pondering a return for awhile now, just haven't gotten around to it till last week. I've been hesitant to post cause i use a wipescreen LCD to play with and the resized images always look aweful to myself when i try to muck around with them... but I think I've finally come up with something that helps to sell my CJ and looks good to boot.

Some of you might know that Alicante City quietly slipped in to the darkness and was left to RIP at the bottom of my harddrive .. although I played it a few times, I never really got back in to the feel of it. Untill I caught up with Slann and together we fostered an idea and along came Darnassus.

It has a History and is almost complete and will be written up here as soon as it is finallised, untill then, please be patient with the dribs and drabs of information and pictures.

As you can see above, I have added a few new pictures to my post, one of Dalaran, the Capital City of North Darnassus. Also there is the actually Island of Darnassus itself.

    Replies

tankmank: Thanks for the welocme back .. I remember you were always a regular commentor in my CJ's .. my appreciated.

sebbyb07: Thanks for coming out to comment, always been a pleasure to talk to you.

sithlrd98:  Always good see friendly faces that I haven't seen for a long time. I've been around and posted on the site on the odd occasion, unfortunately I haven't really had the passion to post in my CJ though.

masochist:  Thanks for the nice comment and thanks for the welcome back.

PhilsCafe:  I'm really pleased to hear those comments my friend, really glad to see a few of us long time members still about and contributing in the CJ thread.

Thanks to those that look and leave no comment, and thanks to those who do, I hope no one was dissapointed with this new era of my journey in to the World of SC4.

Stay tuned for more updates to come.

    As always, Enjoy!  36.gif

yeah, it seems like everytime I return from an absence, the crowd has changed a little bit more. But that's not necessarily a bad thing 4.gif.

I liked the teaser a lot, looks like your going for a more European/Western look this time. Great job with the coastline and the park green. I'll be patiently waiting for more...

This is probably the best news I've heard in a while - simcitywise - I'm really glad that you're contemplating a return fox, I have quietly missed SMI 15.gif and your creativity, such a source to draw inspiration from...I wish you the very best of luck with your new project, Darnassus Island, it already looks very promising indeed...oh and next time you go, don't stay away for so long 2.gif

Welcome back Fox, I know we haven't talked in a while, for reasons we both know. But that was a long long time ago.

It's good to see your high quality CJ back. 4.gif

Looking at that excellent shot (and at previous pages), I really wonder how I missed this for so long. It's always a great sight to see more and more legendary CJ's returning to the scene. I'll certainly be looking forward to updates! 9.gif

Oh, I remember this CJ!!  It is so good!  I can't wait to see new work from you.  9.gif  The island looks great, really well-terraformed.  I love the borders on  the sides of the pic, and the tree-covered coastline.  The roundabouts look great too.  Looking forward to seeing more of Darnassus.

Hmm... you have a little territory too I see... looking very, very nice. Any particular reason of the sepia colouring?

Hope to see you around the SCJU sometime soon! 9.gif

    ISLAND of DARNASSUS

Thanks for the huge response and the variety of replies, it's been very exciting and very heart warming to see and read your comments, esspecially those that I know from the good old days. Not so surprising are the comments from people that don't even relate to the picture, others pointing out the obvious .. but I guess not everyone has an opinion and would rather just spam comments to get higher post count... nothings changed much around here ...lol.

    Replies

jacqulina - Really good to see you still posting strong as ever. Almost 33,000 posts .. wow .. you must have sore fingers. Hoestly, good to have your comments and look forward to any feedback you can provide in the future.

PhilsCafe - Thanks for the comments, I still love to create those inner city parks everywhere, it's what I'm used to in my home city and I try to incorporate that in to every city I make. Definately more Western this time, although I have a huge mix of buildings to play with, so it will be a little of everything.

Godzillaman - Long time indeed. My last post in my CJ was before Christmas, I have contemplated coming back and posting and showing pics and telling people where and what I've been doing, but lost interest and have also been really busy in RL and so SC4 has taken a back seat. Plus my WoW addiction takes up the little free time I guet now. Thankyou for your comment, much appreciated.

Jerebannus - Thanks for the comments. Nice to know you still visit Simtropolis and your CJ is still going. I must admit that it took awhile to get the desire to play SC4 again after our chat last year, but Slann inspired me to give it another go and so I'm back with something fresh to work on.

tankmank - Once again thankyou for your comment, and yes there is a mix of everything here, I no longer have a lot of the Asian stuff anymore due to reducing the size of my plugins folder, and a lot of the newer stuff seems be be better quality, but more Western, has so I have moved towards that.

Wolf_pt - Thanks for the comments, and yes Darnassus is Capital of the Night Elves, ironic that I play Horde and dispise the Alliance, but they have all the cool city and area names.

Zeddic - Addicted to WoW, hence why i don't play SC4 much anymore.

6underground - Thanks for the nice comment and thanks for the welcome back. Good to see you still around, and your art work looks good too from what I've seen at SCJU.

ky72x - Thanks for your first comment in my CJ. Glad you like what you've seen, and I hope you like whats to come.

BlondeTwiggy - Good to see you still about the place. Always friendly and offering great comments. Thanks for those btw, very encouraging to make me want to show more. i love the terrain and worked a bit more on it than I usually do for a region.

bokrif - Thanks for the welcome back, it's good to be more active.

Simfan34 - Hmmm .. yes I have a little territory ... always the krytik you were, I see nothing has changed much. Reasons for sepia? umm .. cause it looked good when I was photoshopping it. SCJU .. perhaps, I did say I'd pop in from time to time when I left earlier this year, and I have done. Things look like they are going great, lots of stories and stuff.

Yoman3 - Thanks for the welcome back. I'm glad to see you still about, love to catch up some time. I've been busy this last year, but things seem to be calming down a bit. Only person I really keep in touch with is Slann these days. But it's sure good to have you about.

fabsies55 - Thankyou for the comments. Unfortunately the last few updates were affected by that site problems earlier this year, and some of my updates are missing pictures, comments, replies and some updates only have half the stuff I posted. I will try to get more pictures in updates though as I get further along with this new Island.

anarchy0029 - Thanks for the comment, much appreciated. I hope you approve of the future updates as much as the past ones. I look forward to seeing your future coments.

pipishere - Always a pleasure to have you grace my CJ hun. Look forward to talking to you soon. So much has happened in the last year, it's been hard to keep in touch a lot. I have peeked at your CJ now and then too, you always amaze me with your ideas.

Mexicanboy13r - How could I forget you old friend. The most interesting person I've met. I would love to catch up with you and find out what you've been up to. PM me your msn or email if you like.

SimHoTToDDy - Thankyou for the comment. I'm sure hoping that you enjoy this new journey of my CJ .. it's taken awhile for me to get back in to the whole CJ scene, but I hope I don't dissapoint, and hope you come back again and let me know.

jglei701 - Thanks for the huge compliment, thats a huge inspiration to me. Thanks so much for dropping by. Good to see an old familiar face still about the place too.

First I showed you a glimpse of The City of Dalaran. Now I'm going to show you a former Palace located in North Darnassus. Home to many of the past Presidents of the small Nation, it is now a Musuem.

That's cool. Your Asian style cities were unique and I'm looking forward to seeing how you handle Western styles. So far I'm impressed, look at that magnificent palace. Maybe you changed the building style, but your inner city parks are becoming a trademark. They look kinda simple, but I think that's what makes them so realistic.

Thank you for the reply! Oh, oh its so pretty! That is a gorgeous BAT to begin with, but the surroundings are perfect, with the trees, fountains, gardens.  Did you lot the median for the avenue/road?  Because I havent seen it before.  Sorry if that's a dumb question...I seem to recall your doing quite a bit of custom lotting.  Looking forward to seeing the update.
