All the detail! That sure is a lot of work. No doubt it will go down in BAT history!

Exquizit work, Rubik. :D I'm really really looking forward to having your WTC buildings in my cities. You have done them well, and they are a true tribute to 9/11 and the people affected by it.

That looks very good. I love the extent of the detail, right down to the visibility of the rectangular core in the vast, well-lit lobby.

Exquisite work. You've really paid a lot of attention to detail. That lighting for the roof looks outstanding, and the towers themselves look exactly like the former towers.

Good job. Can't wait to see what it looks like when it's finished.

The buildings look awsome!  So much so that I want you to make them perfect, so I  suggest that you look at adding the window cleaner system to the roof.  It ran along a track around the perimeter, stopped between each verticle beam and ran up and down.  I don't ask for any motion, but I always thought it was one of the most ingenious things about the building.  It is incredible already, so take this or leave it, just an idea.  You are definately setting a high standard for modeling.

It looks perfect. I can't wait to have them, it will be the best BAT building ever. Don't stop after you're done with the WTC, please make other buildings and landmarks...

The BAT skills coming from this site amazes me, and the WTC is just another example.  Excellent work.  It's a fitting tribute to the heroes who lost their lives.

I have some suggestions for the lot in general, some of which you might have already implemented. Hopefully these won't sound too particular, but you may find it helpful so as to make an already splendid lot that much more accurate. On the real World Trade Center:

- The corners of the towers were pushed in a bit more, so the four corner lines scaling each tower were wider from left to right.

- The inclines at the top of the towers were slightly higher, and the inclines at the corners produced a triangle shape.

- The rectangular cores of both towers were not parallel; they did not face the same direction. The shorter side of each tower's core faced the plaza.

- This may have been fixed already, but one of the earlier pictures in the thread shows the towers and the plaza, with both towers being the same distance from the north point of the plaza. The south tower should be moved up so that its top is aligned with the north tower's bottom, as seen below:

<ahttp://www.fiddlersgreen.net/buildings/new-england/WTC/thumbs/tnA-LAYOUT.jpg>

- At the entrance to the plaza was a triangular sculpture, and in front of that were giant letters spelling peace on earth (in case you didn't know about that).

<ahttp://www.metrotri.com/images/DSC00730_WTC_Peace.gif>

- The plaza had nine tall, thin lampposts surrounding the fountain area, and potted flowers mixed in with the benches. As for the Sphere, I can help provide any pictures you may need depending on how detailed you want to make it.

Even without these small suggestions your lot is still near-perfect.  I'll stay on the lookout for an image of the observation deck at night.

man, you're freakin incredible.

i look at that render and think do they still exist?  you have blurred the lines of reality and imaginary.  you are doing a great service to the buildings by working so hard on this project.  congrats.

on a side note - i figured out what i did wrong and have succesfully rendered my building all the way to the LE.  thanks for the help along the way.

I'm agreaaing with NYM1980... If Maxis is looking to expand their team, they should look no further than you. The fact that you have taken on two huge projects simultaneously, and have already completed one of those projects within weeks of the BAT's release shows what level of skill you already posess... It's uphill from here...

*Goes and finds the number for Maxis recruiting...*

Are you going to build the other buildings in the WTC area?  I like the ones with the domes, pyramid and stuff.

SC4, Forevermore!

Currently preoccupied with architecture school...lurking with caution.

The night view is stunning, great work. How did you get some windows to be brighter than others? When I apply night lighting it seems it only can have one setting on the intensity for all windows in a model, or am I wrong about that?

I hope you make plenty of backups of your file for this wonder. I would hate to see something go wrong with it.

This is looking better & better with each new screenshot Rubik....

I'm thinking of putting aside one of my small city maps JUST to place the entire complex on it once it's all done 2.gif

As well as the other NYC landmarks that came w/ SC4, kinda a mini-mannhattan all on one map....

    Woulfe

    Holy crap dude! 6.gif1.gif

I knew someone would eventually build the towers when the BAT was available. But I never expected something like this! I can't get over the detail and obviously the hard work you've put into this project. I can't wait to download it. Naturally I agree with a lot of people when I say this is probably going to be the most downloaded BAT on Simtropolis.

Awesome, awesome, awesome work! Keep it up!

Well when the whole complex is complete it's probably going to be upwards of 8 meg so I might put a request in the lot details for a 1$ donation to Simtrop.  If everyone who will download the WTC donated a buck it would probably be enough to cover a months worth of expenses.....not to mention a new whirlpool for the Squad members 2.gif

Are you trying to jinx me?  You better be knocking on a redwood right now 1.gif

You can select individual or groups of windows and change the 'selected intensity', below the global intensity in the BAT utility.

I have changed my plans for the initial release.  I'd like to spend a little more time getting the plaza correct so I'll just be releasing the two towers first.  If kid_a can get me the 2000 images he has they might be ready sometime next week.

I can't imagine why you may want a new whirlpool... Well, I will be waiting till next week to click the download button on the two towers!<ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/9.gif>

Well if you look at the current state of the Bat/Modd Squad hot tub you'll see why.  Only a bunny and a few exemplar monkeys can fit into the one we have.  So keep those donations rolling in....only a couple grand more and we can get a new 10 person,18 jet hot tub...and you thought those donations were going towards bandwidth...ha 9.gif
